The other day I happened to turn on my television, and what should appear before my eyes? None other than cancelled dating show, The Fifth Wheel. As much as I've enjoyed this campy skankfest in the past, I still found myself reaching for the remote. That is, until I glanced up and happened to find Karamo of Real World: Philadelphia fame sitting on the party bus and feigning interest in women. Fans of the The Real World may remember Karamo as the temperamental, gay black man whose stereotype-busting presence was arguably the only noteworthy aspect of the dreadful Philly season (not counting Melanie's scabies infestation). So imagine my surprise to see a straight-acting Karamo on this pre-Real World episode of The Fifth Wheel. It was kind of like watching an old George Michael video, except trashier. Karamo says: "Layla is smart and beautiful, but I also know she's a closet freak." Insert "closet" joke here.
Layla says: "Karamo's the kind of guy I take home to my momma and take him into the bedroom and get freaky." Dream on, sister.
Awkward foreshadowing...
One of the girls accuses Karamo of being "evasive" with his romantic life. Well, yeah, but admitting you like men can be a real downer on a date.
Yay! It's a love connection! Except for the whole "She's straight, he's gay" thing.

just so you all know, coral from the real world was ALSO on the fifth wheel before she got on MTV. these dorks really need to realize they are not going to become movie stars by going on stupid reality tv shows

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who saw this ... needless to say, my 'reality' world was rocked! So is he? Isn't he? Which show denies us the "real" world?
5th wheel is on 8am (central time) on Fox Reality Network ... (other than posting that info on a public forum, I'll deny knowing that information off the top of my head for the rest of my days!)

That is really disgusting... what if one of those girls actually slept with him. What could possibly be shadier then a guy being deceptive about having having sex with men and then hooking up with some poor woman.
If you're going to be in the closet at least don't drag other people into your sordid mess--Karamo should have the decency to at least not lie to unsuspecting girls willing to date him...blech!

yeah, those "poor...unsuspecting" girls. LOL! I'll admit, Karamo is a jack ass, he proved that on the real world, but those girls are pretty trashy on that show usually also. Oh and also, did anyone ever hear the term bisexual? It exists.

Wow... I would have never pegged Karamo as a famewhore because I always thought his Real World appearance was motivated by wanting to break down stereotypes. I guess you can disprove stereotypes (masculine gays) while still reaffirming them (reality famewhores). Hmm.

It's all TV for goodness sakes. Get a grip. The man might be our own Rock Hudson and he got away with it for years. On the otherhand, he could be str8, pretending to be gay, trying to look str8, acting on a show as gay, while having to act str8...now, where was I? Oh yeah, Karamo is who he is and anyone who watches TV now knows that he has several TV personnas. Shem hotep.
