Real World: There's a New Girl In Town

This week on the Real World Sydney, we get ready for a little action! Shauvon's gone back to her boyfriend and the fab life in Sacramento, and no one was too sorry to see that whiny bitch go. We've got a new roommate to meet, new Parisa issues to address, plus Isaac's gotten himself a girl and a story line! It's a pretty lame romance, but oh well, it can't be all girl fights over Dumby all the time. And now, for this week down under...

Shauvon-1
Thank God the wind came along and blew this candle out.

Isaac is on the phone with Noireen (the slutty Irish girl he picked up on his visit to Sydney's Chinatown) filling her in on the latest gossip in the house, namely that Shauvon's left. Noireen's not sure which one was Shauvon - she ID's her as "the one with the big boobs." I guess that's how Shauvon will go down in Real World history. The girl with the big boobs who went home to be with her boyfriend. When Noireen finds this part out, she replies, "what a loser!" Shauvon or the boyfriend? Oh well, either way, couldn't have said it better myself! Isaac likes how Noireen says it like it is.

Over in the girls' clubhouse, KA and Trasha are deep in discussion over what the new roommate will be like. Trasha thinks that she will come in and firstly make it clear that she will not be walked over. Say hello to Trasha's time honored philosophy of entering all situations on the defensive and totally ready to throw the first punch. Just like Jesus would do.

Jesus2
Don't f**k with me, bit**es.

But, Trash says she hopes the new person is someone she and everyone else will get along with. Cause the last thing they need, she continues, is more drama. Yeah, that would be horrible. On a DRAMA. Hating and hooking up are really the only two qualities I'm looking for in this roomie.

Later on, Noireen makes her appearance at the house. They're all happy to see her, and KA sweetly comments that she never sees Noireen in the daytime. Meaning, that slut only comes round at the end of a drunken night. Meaning, bitchy, KA, I like it. But KA says she likes Noireen, and she thinks Isaac is more fun when Noireen's around.

Isaac and Noireen go out for a daytime date, and in the light of day, it doesn't seem like they know a whole lot about each other. It's pretty awkward. She discovers that he's from Ohio and he's Jewish. He's the first Jew the black Irish girl who hangs in Sydney's Chinatown has ever met. Go figure.

Later that night, anticipation is building for the new roommate! And speaking of the new girl, she's in the car on the way to the house. She's another California girl, from Southern California though, and I am thrilled to report that her hair is all one color!

Ashli
And now, drumroll please, it's Ashli...with an "i"!

Ashli prances on into the house, and introduces herself to all the roommates. Cow doesn't bother to get up to meet her, which I think is a little rude. She's very friendly. She immediately tells us how cute Dumby is, and guess what? He feels the same about her! Ashli tells us she "single and sooooo ready to mingle." That's right - Ashli and her "i" have definitely come to party!

Ashli asks them what the plan is for that night. The roommates, who took weeks to leave the compound, sleep in daily until noon, and hit the same bar every time they go out, are surprised that she wants to out so soon. Well, I'm jet lagged, Ashli first demurs. But then...I'm up for anything, she bounces back!

KA tries to keep the party at home - clearly, this fellow perky brunette is going to be hoovering up house attention, and KA needs to get a handle on the situation before she takes the show public. But the boys insist on going out.

Parisa shows Ashli their room. Ashli asks if the empty bed is where the old roommate used to sleep. Duh. Ashli is worried that the roommates will already have a tight bond that she won't be a part of. Parisa then takes her to a chalkboard, where they write "Ashli, California, 19". So official.

Love you recaps! Marge really needs together, but seeing those previews, it looks like she never will. The rest of the season looks way dramatic. Was it just me, or didn't Ashli and Kelly Anne look really creepy in the previews when they were hanging over the railing mocking Parisa?

Between Tila Tequila, New York, and the Real World I'm totally loving the drama.

Poopsicle:

Great recap. Parisa is such a tool. She really sets herself up for all the hatred she gets. And someone needs to tell Trasha she is not a pretty girl. She has droopy alchoholic eyes.

shia0bundan:

Nice recap Chickbomb.

This episode really hilighted how highschool Trasha is. It was obvious that she wasn't just happy to have Ashli (is that how its spelled?) as a friend, but she was especially happy that Parisa and Ashli didn't click.

And I'm disliking Kelly Anne more and more, especially from watching the previews. Its pretty clear what happens... Trasha hits Parisa, so Parisa gets to tell the producers if she feels "threatened" and if she wants to go home. She either does it or is thinking about it when Kelly Anne and Ashli decide to spit on the Parisa's window and ask "Does she feel threatend? HAHAHA." My GOD thats disgusting.

The producers do a real shit job of casting a diverse group don't they? What happened to 7 people from DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS? I really do feel bad for Parisa at this point.

sharonly23:

I agree, it seems like a diverse group of people isn't MTV's aim for The Real World anymore. Believe it or not there are girls that enjoy doing other things in life besides mingling, drinking and shopping. Poor Parisa, even though she does have her own flaws I feel sorry for her. They put another caddy girl right in the mix with the other 2 caddy girls probably hoping they would all gang up on Parisa which is already starting to happen. I've watched the Real World since season 1 & I think I'm just starting to grow out of the show, the generations of people are getting worse and worse as the seasons go on. Maybe it's not the show, I'm just getting old.

DP Hooker:

I thought the timelines were really messed up. We met Noireen at the beginning of this series, then Isaac calls her and says he had to wait 2 weeks to call her again. So, all this came up with Shauvon's boyfriend and their vacation and Dunbar's girlfriend Julie all visited in the time between Isaac first hooking up with this chick and then calling her for the first time? it was weird.

I think isaac's funny though, when he was talking on the phone about shauvon's boyfriend and the chick was like "didn't you make out with her" and he was like "ohh yeahh.... sorry about that david" and kinda turned away from the camera made me laugh out loud.

It was also super super turbo mega intelligent of parisa to go isolate herself on the dock with her pillow and write in her lonely journal wondering why she is the outcast.

These are some bitchy girls though, kelly anne is two-faced i think, with the way she always is talking about other people and then running to them and telling them what was said.

joeydoll:

Wow I just saw the recaps for the episodes to come and I have to say that I feel sorry for Parisa. I hope they kick Trasha out for putting her hands on her. Wow eventhough Parisa gets on my nerves at times I do feel sorry for her. I wonder if that was her macking on some guy in the hot tub?

texasgal75:

joeydoll--yeah, I thought I saw Parisa gettin' her mack on in the hot tub, too. And, I SWORE it was Isaac. To be fair, I was drinking a little and I erased it from my DVR, so I couldn't go back and be sure. Either way, you go Marge. Knock that biatch Trasha to the floor and get your groove on!

yankeesfan:

DP Hooker - it wasn't the first time Isaac called Noiren since they hooked up. He had to wait 2 weeks to call her bc they were on vacation. Everyone knew her like she had come to the house for drunken hook ups often since the first time they hooked up. I actually think the timeline was fine.

I feel bad for Parisa to a certain extent, but she kinda brought it upon herself. She totally shunned Ashli, when I really think she was trying to make an effort. Even at the bar when Trisha was ragging on her, Ashli made a frown face. Parisa didn't give her the benefit of the doubt. So it looks like Dumby hooks up with Ashli in the previews...and I agree KA seems possessed or something when shes screaming over the railing.

seraphmoon:

Another moronic recap you've gone downhill since about the 6th ep:

in your inane continued attempts to trash Parisa you let Trisha and Shauvon slide when they got all hot and bothered when they were not deemed 10s.

the last recap when they were all going out to Cairns and you made a buffoon joke about how Parisa got upset

you bashing Parisa this recap over how if she did not mess with KA's "man" at the bar she wouldnt have invited her wrath

I initially liked your recaps, but the idiocy has grown exponentially. Parisa has been attacked numerous times illogically by Dunbar, Trisha, and KellyAnne, perhaps its not completely out of the realm of reality for her to feel alienated and unwilling to set herself up for emotional attack, regardless of her level of self-esteem or her experience with men. The snarky comment about how Ashli has gained ammunition to be used in the next battle of "clique that needs distraction from hating you" was just plain stupid. If Ashli feels like prejudging someone, then she's a moron. And your exaggeration of Parisa's view of the "world vs. her" notion is transparent, Parisa says she doesnt get along with members of the house which now consists of 3 soro sluts - 2 of them from cali, 2 frat boy types, and a country outlier. Fairly homogenous if you ask me. Oh, and before, you go hating on Parisa for her ass, lets see a picture of your ass in some jeans and your face without makeup, that'd be nice to see. I, for one, cannot wait to see Trisha kicked out, its been a long time comin. And the preview of her calling her dad and calling Parisa a "fat girl," all too reminiscent of a certain nom de plume used by this moron Chickbomb: Frumpy Marge. Its asses like you and Trisha why girls develop low self-esteem about their bodies. Congratulations and Have a nice day. Thanks.

jozeyg:

hmmmmm...? I think Seraphmoon is Parisa.

uglycutie:

Okaaay...seraphmoon's comment almost made me forget what the hell I was going to post.

I really don't see anything wrong with the recaps. And, no, I'm not a "10" nor does my ass win trophys but even I know you just don't wear high-waisted jeans with tapered legs.

I despise Trisha and I espcially hate KA. Trisha started out upset over something she should have just held her tongue about. I mean, what Parisa did would have been aweful had Trisha not had a boyfriend at the time. If I was Parisa I would have defended myself by asking Trisha, "So, do have a boyfriend or not? If you do, then why are you so pissed? (Insert Aussie's boy's name) is not your boyfriend and I don't owe you anything so piss off!" Trisha knows this too, so she tried to make the argument about loyalty and everything but what it was. Dumb bitch. Then comes KA. She is so ready to be a mean bitch and she's not even involved in any of it. I can't believe such a down to earch guy like Cow fell for her BS.

Now, poor Parisa. Parisa is just socially stunted. Everyone is who they are, right, I agree. No one has to conform to others to try to belong. Okay there too. BUT...there are situtations where (in the words of Dave Chapelle) "Keeping it Real Goes Wrong". Parisa is in a foreign country with people she just met and no one else. She needs to "adjust" somewhat to avoid conflict. She can't control other people but she can control how she acts. In "real" life she would say "fuck you" to everyone and do as she pleases, and good for her, but she doesn't have to go live them afterwards.

If making moves on guys at bars who have already made out with other chicks is Parisa's thing, cool. But when you are with strangers, hold back on that shit and think about the consequences. I assume she was drunk at the bar when she initally did it, so she gets a pass, but she was pretty sober those other times.

I want to be on her side, and I am because Trisha and KA are such assholes. But she makes it hard sometimes. The way I see it, she just can't read people or situtations. Hopefully one day she'll learn to do that and she'll have better realtionships even if they're just quasi-relationships.

EZ Rider:

I thought I saw that chick that looks like a dude, Fergie, wearing some high-waisted, tapered jeans. That's just plain ugly.

Hyper-Chicken:

"jozeyg:
hmmmmm...? I think Seraphmoon is Parisa."

Thats what I was going to say or at least someone who knows her or has identical issues.

Don't get me wrong as much as I think that she plays the victim sometimes the other bitches in the house really lay it on thick and play the Mean Girls role. I kind of wish the two nice guys in the house Cow and Isaac stood up for her more but they already have a little in the past and I actually don't blame them for not wanting to get involved. I actually started to feel a little bad for Parisa when she was outside with her journal then the sensible part of me was reminded of how pathetic it looked and I laughed.

Trash is well trash. She is not even remotely attractive. She looks like that one muppet (can't remember her name if she had one_ in the band on the old Muppet Show. Not much is funnier than when an ugly girl thinks shes pretty. I also love how she plays the hypocritical Christian role to the note. She pushes and belittles Parisa, tells her dad on the phone "I pushed a fat girl" (Umm yours and Parisas dress sizes don't look drastically different dear) How very Christian of you Trash.

I am from Sacramento and am ashamed that Shauvon was our hometown representative. All she had going for her was the boobs and even they weren't that great - there is such a thing as too much and you don't always have to show it off or fluant it. Insecure much? And she writes an advice column? Good ol' Sac State. I hope when the reunion special airs we find out that her and her boyfriend aren't even together anymore. Oh and whenever she started to cry it made me laugh uncomfortably. Like I felt bad that she looked like such a blubbering idiot and I wanted to say to the tv "Thats how you cry? Who cries like that?"

As far as KellyAnne - I thought she was a bitch from the beginning. Then I started to lighten up on her a bit but she totally lost me again when Parisa and Shauvon were having the drunken - grilled cheese with tomato fight in the kitchen and Shauvon asked KellyAnne "Doesn't Parisa always side with the boys?" and KellyAnne maniacally and enthousiastically nodded "yes". It was such an underhanded bitch move. Plus all of her hemming and hawing with Sutton and Cowhutta, proclomations of what a tease she is just show she is a wishy washy whore. Like Chicky pointed out she always has to gossip and instigate shit. Please god let her be pregnant and her life and looks ruined. I actually feel sorry for Cowhutta that he likes her. Oh yeah she always site with her vag exposed and has crazy girl eyes.

bakismaki:

It seemed like the guys with the exception of Dunbar barely notice the new girl. I found that hilarious.

I totally forgot new girl's name hence from now on she will be called new girl.

Why was the new girl so obsessed with Parisa liking her. Not everyone has to be all lovey dovey right away, jeez.

New girl is okay looking, but don't get Dunbar's fascination with her. She's in the same league as KA, cute, but nothing special.

Isaac's chick is way hot! She seems like a lot of fun too. Lucky bastard. She would be way more interesting as a cast member than the chicks we're forced to digest every week.

It looks like Real World picks up quite a bit in the next few weeks. Hopefully it really does pick up and its not MTV doing some lame edit job.

bakismaki:

I agree that Chickbomb hates on Parisa too much. There's plenty of hate to go around here, spread it a little more.

bakismaki:

Also I wanted to point out. Last post I swear. lol. I wanted to point out that I don't think Noreen is a slut. So she slept with Isaac right away and that makes her slut? A lot of people have had flings or one night stands. There are a whole lot of sluts in this world then. For not knowing her very well, I think it is rather harsh to call her a slut. Plus Europeans and Aussies have a very different perspective on sex than we Americans do. It's quite refreshing actually. They are more direct about it and not so uptight about it. Just thought I would share... cherrie-0h

DANG! poor misguided, socially backward parisa. i actually felt very bad for her this epi. the girl’s so traumatized by her experiences in the house that she can’t even open up to the attempts of a complete stranger to be friendly to her.

"It felt like she wanted my backstory to assess me better,"

NO SHIT, silly, that’s what people do when they’re trying to get to know you!!

it’s like she can’t win for losing! one minute she’s trying to be all super bubbly and flirty like the other girls and the next she’s playing the victimized social outcast. DUDE, just be *YOURSELF* and quit letting your external environment determine your self-worth.

it’s very disappointing and plain pathetic to see her carry on after the way she came into the house as this seemingly mature person who could bring a different perspective to the cookie cutter Real World.

i actually think that parisa is a pretty girl and could do well by expanding her social circle outside of the house instead of continually extending herself as the punching bag/punchline for the majority of her roommates. i really hope that she overcomes her insecurity and low self-esteem after she watches this season.

on to trasha. this girl really has a lot of nerve trying to pass herself off as some spiritual, moralistic, nice person.
i know that she’s young and probably very sheltered/ ignorant. nobody's perfect, but publicly Bible-thumping while simultaneously being a nasty, arrogant person that tears down other people makes her a horrible model for Christianity.

she's oblivious to the fact that she comes off as a big-mouthed hypocrite who name-checks Jesus just to further her favorite pastime of acting like she’s superior to others.
UGGHH!! >: - ~

in the wise words of our recapper “No, actually. Nice, fun, bubbly and outgoing are pretty much the last words I'd use to describe Trasha.”

AMEN TO THAT!

i hope that once she sees herself on tv she'll come to realize just how distasteful she has been this season and stop being so freaking high and mighty.

Shauvon is no longer with her boyfriend. Here's an interview she did on buddytv.com:

"And do you stand by that decision? Was it the right thing for you to do?

Shavoun: You know, both. Honestly there’s two ways. It was the right decision because I would have always wondered ‘What if?’ I would have never have known. I would have always wondered, you know: ‘What if me and David would have worked out?’ It’s kind of like I needed that one more time to see if it was truly right for me and him to be together or not, but I also think it’s wrong because I should have put my foot down and said: ‘You know what? No. I’m staying here for me no matter what.’ I guess what it was, was I was being kind of selfish. I was trying not be selfish and trying not to stay in Sydney because I wanted to. David, my ex, he truly does love me and I know he does and I kind of was like: ‘You know what? I need to leave not just for myself, but for him.’ And so that’s what I did, so. There’s like yes and no’s to that. I wish I wouldn’t have checked out and stayed and finished out in Sydney cause now I’m not with David. Literally I went back, and I think I was there for a week and we tried to make it work and it didn’t work. So, after leaving all that I ended up not being with him and still breaking up and we’re not together. And we wont get back together. "

Yeah, proves she's an idiot. And I also heard rumors that Trasha gets kicked out of the house too. Something about the real world photo on mtv shows her not being in it. So, i dunno we'll see.

This is what I do all day at work.......tryin to find some gossip. lol.

babeblue:

ok, so i'm not back to work just yet....

I KNEW IT!!! i knew that it wasn't worth shauvon leaving the show for david.

LADIES!! any man who tries to control your life and keep you barefoot and pregnant in the house (qualifier: against your will) is NOT a good candidate for boyfriend/husband of the year.

what little we saw of his attitude on the show is probably 5 million times worse in person.

i wonder if things with him went south before or after shauvon told him that she slept with two guys on tv? hmmmm.....

it's just as well, b/c if they were still toghether and i were her, i'd have slept with one eye open the nights those one night stand episodes aired.

Sharonly23: it is definitely the show sucking, not you getting old. I have watched every season of RW since the first and I too am just over it. And I'm all of 21. It was a combination of the casts of LV, Austin, and Key West that I was officially tapping out, but I especially hate everyone but Isaac and Cow(and occasionally Parisa) this season, so I think it is safe to say that I am throwing up the deuces to the real world. The cast is the perfect storm of every type of person I dislike in life. But I digress.

Parisa does make it a little difficult to like her because she does do some infuriating things, but I think it really boils down to her really just wanting to be accepted by the people she has to live with, which is actually understandable. I am sure that in any other situation she would just quickly be like f this and move on, but since she has to co-habitate with these assholes, it makes it a little harder to do, so she figures she would try and be friends. Sadly, the casting directors managed to cast a combination of the worst type of people ever.

I would give anything to knock Trasha down a few pegs...and by a few, I mean several. I have dealt with girls like her before and that's precisely what I have done. I can't stand people like her who almost seek out the girls like Parisa and make it their lifes work to make their lives hell. And then to use this cloak of Christianity just makes my blood boil. Kelly Anne is the girl who obviously was born a lemming and will follow anyone as long as she can be a part of the "cool kids" circle all for the low price of sacrificing everything you are. Dunbar is just unattractive, rude, and annoying.

Seriously, where did they find this cast of self-righteous, dispicable people?

Ok sorry for my rant. I really just wanted to post that I absolutely adore Isaac and I have no idea why. Maybe it's because he's no drama and kinda cute and funny...???? Can't wait for Trasha to go home!!

Wow way to articulate there Shauvon. I get the point she is trying to make but to quote myself from earlier - This girl writes an advice column?!?!

Hyper-Chicken:

SPOILER ALERT -

Thanks to some inside info from Alex (Aussie whom Trash and Marge fought over) and a slip up over at the Mtv website (cast member missing from a pic and no its not Shauvon) looks like someone is getting the boot this week! And yes, its someone we all hate.

Can't post links here but if you want details Google "vevmo" and "real world"

I must be Parisa or someone who has similar issues? I see others have joined the ign'ant club of Chick Bomb. How does deflecting some criticism of Parisa away from her make me someone who has similar issues? Let's not act like Fox Newscasters here. I'm afraid some of you might think there really were WMD's or there is no such thing as global warming. Sure Parisa has low self-esteem (first ep. comment about how if Dunbar was single it'd be a fairytale.....eeeek) and also when she kissed Alex after Shauvon told her Trisha kissed her....ugh. Regardless this chickbomb has gotten just plain ridiculous with her insults and quite frankly not funny at all (witness last recap's attempt at a joke at Parisa poopooing a trip to Cairns, very circuitous attempt at a joke and downright awful.) Perhaps most telling for those of you who accuse me of being Parisa is how you then go on and trash Trisha and KellyAnne, something Chickbomb has very much failed to do at the expense of trying to make fun of Parisa, which is at the least unfair, and more or less implicitly recognized by all of you. AND for a supposed purveyor of pop culture, chickbomb has demonstrated a high level of ignorance: dimepiece has been in pop urban lexicon for at least 5 years, probably significantly more.

To Lalia: you've seen every season of real world and you're 21 years old? come on; you started watching real world when you were 6? Slightly unbelievable.

uglycutie:

@ seraphmoon...

I think you have a right to feel the way you feel. I don't necessarily agree but I think people were reponding to your "outrage" more than to your actual point.

Chickbomb doesn't actually know Parisa in person (or any of the other roommates for that matter). She just writes from HER point of view and what she feels is funny. Saying that, I'm sorry to say that most of the readers find her POV and humor funny as well.

I'm sorry you feel Parisa is singled out as the "punchline" but you don't know any of us either and your posts come off as if you're ready to attack anyone who disagrees wth you.

Rock Star:

I have to say, I agree with bakismaki. It's fucking ridiculous that chickbomb calls noireen a slut. It is so sad to me that in 2007, one woman will call another woman a slut for having sex with a guy. Last time I checked, it took 2 people to have sex. Meaning, they both made the decision to have sex, so how is noireen any more of a slut than Isaac? Seriously, the antiquated, sexist double standard has got to go. And I know it's supposed to be funny, but you're not.

Hyper-Chicken:

uglycutie - you hit the nail on the head re: seraph. Why does this person take such great personal umbrage that chickybomb has a different opinion than theirs? Further illustrated with the fulfillment of the stereotypical angry internet poster with the Fox News/WMD/global warming trifecta. I've seen it done better though.

And yes, lost in all of that incoherent mess was the fact that a lot of us agree with you regarding Parisa, we just don't get all rabid about it like you seraph. I can't stand Trisha and KellyAnne is quickly getting to that point as well but its just a fucking show, these are just recaps written by someone who has *gasp* a different opinion.
I swear the fun is being sucked out of TVgasm by angry commenters - whether it has to do with the content of the recap and the recappers opinion or the "style" that someone doesn't like but continues to read every week and bitch about. Get over yourselves.

seraphmoon:

Despite your commendable attempt at insight, I did not take personal "umbrage" at Chickbomb's insults at Parisa, I simply felt they were grossly unfair and mentioned as much. The trifecta as you say had nothing to do with my anger level, but to do with people such as you calling me Parisa or someone who knows her or has similar issues. Is it sincerely out of the realm of possiblity that one could rationally support Parisa at a level slightly more than chickbomb does? Just slightly? OR do I HAVE to be some crazed out Parisa family member? Sure, my first post may have been a little too harsh on chickbomb but most of the underlying points were valid nonetheless, validated by people such yourself hyper-chicken. And, obviously, people are entitled to their opinions, but opinions can also be ridiculous, in Pat Robertson's opinion 4 hurricanes hit Florida because Disney allowed a gay day, or in some cases opinions can be pernicious re: global warming denial. Not to say that Chickbomb's opinions are to that level, but opinions are not free from criticism or comment; as you seem to suggest, if you dont like the recapper's opinion, then don't read them or don't comment on them. And while I appreciate you lumping me into some elite category of consistently angry posters, (and I must add the stereotyped trifecta angry poster comment stung somewhat, haha), I am not "full of myself." I am simply commenting on some issues I had with several past recap on one board. Regardless, TWOP needs to start doing these again.

Hyper-Chicken:

"Despite your commendable attempt at insight"

No attempt, just calling it as it is.

"And while I appreciate you lumping me into some elite category of consistently angry posters"

The category is far from elite, as you, and your further adventures into rabid self righteousness, have continued to reinforce.

seraphmoon:

I saw some of your other posts here Hyper-Chicken, I see now that I shouldn't mess with a raving lunatic.
