This is my first time commenting here, but I've been reading the Real World recaps since forever, even AFTER I watch the show, just to see how B-Side recaps it...Anyway, what I really wanted to post is: I FREAKIN' HATE that retarded little bun Colie always makes on the top of her head!! There, I said it.

This episode is definatly my favorite so far, because I think Colie finally woke up. She finally figured out that guys aren't that into her, and I just loved how Alex treated her in the hot tub. Then Corey (who I thought Colie did not deserve, cause she's way out of his league in terms of looks and personality) makes the correct deceision, turns the table around and hurts colie by breaking up with her, that was just awesome. She thought she could do anything she wanted, and I seriously hope she learned a lesson after this episode.

You all know how much I hate her, but I felt kind of bad for her at the end. I thought she was genuinly sad and hurt, and even though she deserved it, no one should be feeling like that. I mean, seriously, imagine you're insane like colie. You think everything is going to go your way with the person your very attracted to, yet it doesn't. So you try and make up with the person who you originally had a good relationship with, and that person totally refuses to have anything to do with you....hpmh, what am I saying, Colie deserved to be treated like that. I guess she needed to learn the hard way..

I didn't watch this episode (b/c I had to watch AI, which my sister recorded for me so I could vote before the phone lines closed), but roleepolee, how could Colie be out of someone's league both in terms of personality and looks? I don't think slut is a good way to describe Colie. I don't think she's a slut, I do think she's a codependant basket case. I really don't understand how people can become that codependant. I have friends like that...well, not quite like that, but who just can't stand being without a boyfriend or girlfriend. What do they think is going to happen to them? That someone is going to come and kill them because they're single?

Yay! Finally something actually happens with these lame-os!! It has been a mighty boring season so far so I am glad to finally have a catfight or 2 on the show.

I watched the sneak peak of next week's episode, and I have good news and bad news:

The good news- our favorite overmedicated brunette starts throwing herself at nearly every man in the house. Hooray for hoes! They make the show worth watching. (Except for Colie. And the entire Austin cast.)

My opinion on E. Colie's wonky hair-do is this: E. Colie if your too slovenly and lazy to comb your hair, cut it. You are an unkempt pig, didn't anyone ever teach you how to clean yourself up? Gee, I WONDER why guys aren't that into you, you're a fucking mess.

Corey is WAAAAAYYYY out of E. Colie's league. I'm guessing in the college "bubble", she seemed better than she was because of the whole incestuous nature of socializing in the Greek system. Now that Corey's out in the REAL real world, he's realizing that E. Colie is just a homely, needy hag. Regardless of how he said he loved her, would convert, blah, blah, blah, I think his intention was to dump her all along. I think he wanted to make a clean break, and knew her well enough to know how to finesse her into accepting it.

E. Colie's play for Alex was actually just flat-out disturbing. The guy had just fucked Jenn, repeatedly. His friend clearly stated that Alex was NOT interested in her. Alex brought home more women, and very deliberately blew her off. So what does E. Colie do? She imposes herself into his space, then physically tries to push him into a kiss, or whatever. If a guy did that to a girl, it would have been considered inappropriate at best; intimidation or harassment at worst.

I think E. Colie's about the hit the skids - I can't wait.

I can't wait to see the upcoming episodes with Brooke's rages - LOVE that nutcase! Also, did I see a preview where Jenn and Stephen supposedly hook-up? This season is actually turning out to be pretty good, except for having to look at E. Colie - who reminds me of Blair's CP cousin from Facts of Life.

1. I loved how Tyrie told Colie what the deal was...although Brett, Davis and Alex has told her the reality of the situation.

2. I loved the fact that Jenn refuses to let us down. We know she's a slutbag whore and she delivers everytime.

3. I absolutely loved when Colie tried to kiss Alex and he moved back to avoid her...priceless!!!

Colie is exactly the kind of spoiled prissy Jersey trash that gives those of us who grew up there and actually do our hair/avoid excessive tanning/wear something other than sweats a bad name.

Jenn and Colie are so trashy and disgusting. I think Jenn is a little better though, because she has no delusions about how she's acting or treating Colie. Oh yeah, and she can actually GET the guy she wants instead of stalking him maniacally like Colie.

Colie, Colie, Colie....this girl is a complete mess and if you watched the after-show, she still doesn't get it. She's multiple contradictions and when it all blows up in her face, it's like she's standing there saying, "what did I do to deserve this?"
By the way, does anyone watch the aftershow? I hate it, it's so watered down. No one asks real confronting questions. In fact, they ask stupid ones like, "How did you feel when Corey was dumping you?" Hello! Obvious! How about, "What's up with you trying to be with all these guys at once and get mad at Alex when he's with someone else?" Although Zach did a good job of trying to expose that.
All in all, I don't think of I've ever disliked like the entire cast of Real World in a season before like this time. They all suck!

#18: Again, spot on with your comments. I loved it when the camera zoomed into Colie's deranged face when Alex refused to get close to her. You can see her brain is scrambling by looking at her face, and her weird lip movements. lol. I don't think this show wouldve been this fun without Colie and her onscreen disaster. Although I still feel a little bad for her. But watching the aftershow only further proved how dumb she really is.

Christ on a cracker, I don't think there exists an industrial sized vat of Lysol big enough to scrub away the STD'd footprints that Jenn, Alex and Colie have left all over that house. I couldn't stop squealing--yes, squealing-- "EWWWW!" during the Corey/Colie, Jenn/Alex hookup scenes, especially Jenn and Alex in the shower, where I imagined their equally slutty bacteria cavorting and multiplying in the suds. Don't they eventually place these Real World houses on the market? I'm afraid that if the producers don't stick the cast members in their own plastic bubbles and let them roll around the house hamster style, they're gonna have to take a match to this house or risk responsibility for the next plague.

I think I've only seen three episodes this season (this was one of them), and I don;t know why I havent been trying harder to catch them, because all 3 I've seen have been AMAZING...Brooke's hilarious and for the most part, totally in the right

the Real World houses aren't actually houses. THere more like really big sets with rooms.

I realize that I am in the minority here, but I actually feel sorry for Colie rather than hatred or disgust like many of the other posts. I agree that she has dependency issues with respect to her relationships with men, but it’s an emotional disorder for which she could probably benefit from some serious professional help. I will concede that she repeatedly makes a lot of the same mistakes and doesn’t always learn from them, but again, that is part of her disorder. Hopefully she’ll get the help she needs so she’ll be able to focus on the people that truly care about her (Corey) rather than this one guy who not only doesn’t care about her, he has no respect for her (Alex).

Jenn also seems to have some psychological “challenges” when it comes to men. But I think in her case, unlike Colie, she doesn’t get emotionally attached to these guys, she just has sex with them. That may explain why she continues to sleep with Alex even though she claims to be repulsed by him and at one point even said that she regretted having slept with him in the first place. But then she’s back in bed (and the shower) with him once again. Maybe her issues are attributed to having a father that didn’t stick around so she fears getting close to anyone on an emotional level. Unfortunately it just makes her look trashy (to quote Brooke).

Brooke obviously has self-control issues (which she has acknowledged) when it comes to venting her frustration. The way that she lashed out at Colie, who simply mentioned a dirty dish and then at Jenn, who called her a brat, was completely over the top and certainly didn’t warrant that all-out tirade.

So there really isn’t one emotionally stable female in that household. But I’m sure that selecting these three girls was a calculated move on the part of the show’s producers because it makes for interesting viewing I suppose.

#28: Colie's problem is not as serious as you say it is. She's just immature and naive. Mix that with her massive ego, and you have one really spoiled and pathetic girl. I really think she deserved everything that happened to her on this episode. It's the only way she'll learn.

Jenn is just a bitch, plain and simple. Someone who posted not too long ago said she is just bad news, and that's all it is. She fucks Alex just to make Colie misarable, why? cause she's a bitch. She likes hurting people's feelings, and she tries to come across as someone who's not doing anything wrong. Both these girls have no serious mental problems. They're just really immature, horny and catty. These are the girls all guys should watch out for. Yes, they're somewhat attractive, but to screw them is a big risk to one's mental and physical health.

Brooke on the other hand does have mental issues, I agree. She's oversensitive, and has a very bad temper that she does need to control, I have to admit that. But what I like about her is the fact that she admits to having problems, and she tries to understand that she needs to work on her issues. Plus she doesn't go all crazy over guys around her, even though she's attracted to them. She openly admited that she thinks Alex is "VERY attractive and good looking" (RW Aftershow 02/14). But she knew if she got involved with him, or any of the guys, she would regret it later. I wish more girls were like her.

roleepolee, you and I have one thing in common; we have an aversion to Jenn because she’s a slut. Even though I disagree with Jenn’s actions, I still think they stem from a deep-rooted issue relating to her upbringing. I am not cutting her any slack since I think she knows full and well what she is doing, but it’s the reasons behind what she does that makes me wonder if she would be a different type of person had her home life been different growing up. However, I cannot deny, she is gross and disgusting.

Colie on the other hand (and I know you vehemently disagree) is an educated girl who has a lot going for her if she would only be able to see it. Her self-esteem, for whatever reason, is nonexistent and therefore we see the sad girl who throws herself at every guy she encounters – some nice, such as Corey and some jerks, such as Alex.

Now Alex thinks way too highly of himself. Partly due to the fact that he’s in a relatively confined environment where two of the three female roommates are vying for his affection. I really don’t think he would do as well with the women on a broader scale. For example, if he were on a college campus competing (for women) with other guys, he’d be the low man on the totem pole. But look at who he’s compared to in that house – Stephen, who has a girlfriend and some issues of his own, Tyrie, who reminds Jenn of someone from her past (and Colie has no interest in him), and of course our resident gay guy, Davis. So who else is left for these girls to compete over? We only have Alex….not really anything to write home about except that he’s straight (which I know is up for debate) and single.

To be honest, if he weren’t gay, looks-wise, Davis would get many more women than Alex.

You're right when you said Colie is well educated. She has degree, she was brought up in a sheltered environment (compared to Jen), and she does have some social skills, I guess. This is why I hate her more so than Jen. Allow me to explain. You would think someone who had a normal childhood would be, you know, normal. When I saw the first episode, I actually liked Colie. I thought she was down to earth and friendly. But it seems like the more you get to know her, the more ugly she seems (on the outside, but especially on the inside.). I guess my disapointment from her for the way she acted towards Brooke, towards Alex, and especially towards Corey, just fueled my hatred for her, and everyone like her in society.

Jenn is not pretty unless she has the Crayola people come over to put her face on (I know, it's a Chris Rock joke). There have been several episodes that have shown that without makeup, Jenn looks like she should be telling riddles to people before allowing them to cross her bridge.

Colie needs therapy, what's worse is that she kind of reminds me of my roommate's girlfriend. The only difference is that my roommate is also codependent....they kind of drive me crazy...I should set up cameras in my apartment.

E. Colie isn't crazy or damaged, E. Colie is spoiled and self-indulgent. She suffers from the same bullshit a lot of spoiled girls with ugly faces, and decent figures suffer from : HUGE ego and LOW self-esteem.

She thinks she's prettier than she is because guys still want to fuck her, but deep inside she knows she's not - so she tries to balance out quality with quantity. No guy will ever fulfill her needs, because she needs too much. She's just going to get more desperate and less attractive as she gets older, and she'll screw around on anyone she manages to snag.

Jenn is what Jenn is. As strong as Jenn's personality is, she's really mostly a follower. I think she attached to Colie because Colie seemed more accessible than Brooke - Brooke is the real deal; she's got money, culture and education. She's at the top of the social scale (even with the tantrums), Jenn and Colie are lower-class. I think Jenn's a slut, I also think there are reasons ANY girl becomes a slut - I just don't really care because it is a disturbing thing to watch girls debase themselves on TV.

Alex seems like a normal guy to me, I think having his friend there actually pushed him to want to hook up with a woman, ANY woman - that was ALL about the male ego. What I find interesting about Alex, is that he seems to not care or worry about getting involved with Jenn (or anyone), yet he seems almost scared of getting involved with Colie. I think he knows she's stalker material.

Sometimes he actually seems repulsed by her; it's like the alcohol dulls his senses enough to let her in a little, but his instincts are still on full alert. If she wasn't pushing him so hard, and so relentlessly, I don't think he'd ever even consider her.

I STILL love Brooke, she's hysterical in ALL senses of the word. I still can't believe what a sloppy, dirty person Colie is.

Also, for some reason E. Colie's face is weirdly masculine. When she smiles, or sneers, or tries to look sarcastic she remind me of Chazz Palmintieri in "A Bronx Tale".

She is really bizarre looking. I actually really find looking at her at all really unpleasant; even with the Joker face I'd rather look at Jenn's face than E.Colie's.

Colie really really needs to grow up. She totally ruined a decent relationship with what seemed like a good dude for some lustful obessision with Alex. Corey for all his meatheadedness actually seemed like an okay guy.

I wonder what the hell he (Corey) was saying to Colie in bed that Brooke was so offended. I'm sure it was probably just some dirty talk. Brooke doesn't seem like she would be uptight about screwing. She was probably just jealous of people getting some.

g-child (#31), Colie never actually slept with Alex. The first night all they did was kiss and sleep in the same bed. Then she told Jenn she felt his penis and it was big so Jenn felt like she had to go test drive it that night. Then in the last episode Alex slept in Colie's bed but I think he was way too drunk to have sex.

I was just thinking back to the second episode, after Jenn screwed Alex. I thought it was so bizarre, and inappropriate that E. Colie actually pulled up a chair to watch Jenn shower, and the checked her body for sex marks.

That was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. Ever.

Looking back, that was the first indication that E. Colie had absolutely NO sense of anyone else's boundaries. Brooke seems really rigid in that regard, so E. Colie must just drive her up the wall. I would probably lose it if I had to share space with that freak too.

Chee-Z, I know exactly what you mean and that's a really good observation. I remember thinking at the time that it would be uncomfortable for a close friend or family member to do that, let alone a new roommate I met 48 hours ago.

Ok not to get all "feminist" on everyone, but it really bothers me that everyone calls Jen a slut (which I agree with), but Alex is just considered a normal guy. She's more of a slut when it comes to loyalty and integrity. I do agree that Alex is a male slut, but I just consider Jenn less respectable for that reason.

A good Colie-Seinfeld thing would be if she had refused to let Corey break up with her, like George's girlfriend in that one episode. If she had just said, "No, it's not happening."

The reason the "slut" thing is still an issue is because promiscuity is more unusual in women than men. Most men just have a higher sex drive than most women.

If more women were promiscuous, or fewer men were promiscuous, it would not be so noticeable and fewer people would care.

Personally, I don't find promiscuity attractive in either sex, but maybe I'm just a prude.

Not to take this completely off the subject of the Real World but Ronin614 I have to disagree with you. Maybe men have a higher sex drive but there is most definately a double standard with men and women and sex. I think there are plenty of men and women out there who are promiscuous but we are all brought up to accept that it's ok for guys to be like that. Women are brought up to feel bad for being sexually active where for men it shows that they are true men. There may be a difference in men and women's sex drives (I really didn't bother to research it.) But that is not the reason why women are viewed as sluts and men are not. And if you really think that then I think you should take a look at what's going on in our society.
