WELL. The best part about Real Worlders is that they love drama. It was therefore no surprise that Davis then skipped on over to Colie and Jenn and relayed everything that Alex just said, including a comment about how Stephen should make fun of Jenn's strained relationship with her father. Oh damn. Jenn immediately rampaged off, leaving Colie to tell Davis that he probably shouldn't have told her that. But then, how would he instigate drama??
Anyway, Jenn marched right up to Alex -- as she should have -- and asked, "HOW THE FUCK COULD YOU BE SO COLD HEARTED???" She was right. Maybe if Alex had been joking -- as he later claimed he was, kind of -- his comments might have been passable. But to sternly advise someone to attack someone's gaping vulnerability was pretty much evil.
Sure enough, Alex tried to weasel his way out of the situation, saying it was all taken out of context and the comments were just theoretical. You know, if Stephen wanted to land a low blow, this is how he could do it. But surely Alex didn't advise that at all! How could no one realize that when he said "I think what you should do...", he was clearly saying "I think what you SHOULDN'T do..."?
Well, Jenn really laid into him, and she was surprisingly articulate, emotional, and even powerful. So much so that Alex could not deny was an ass he'd become. He ran into his room and cried, which was intriguing, but soon the excuses arrived. "I was trying to give him perspective," Alex said, regarding his "advice" to Stephen. Yes, terrible, terrible perspective.
Alex then bandied about the whole "context" thing -- clearly no one remembered that it was opposites day. He was merely saying the opposite of what Stephen should do. Ignoramuses!
Stephen, meanwhile, was now all calm and collected. With the spotlight off his own idiocy, he could now pretend to be the thoughtful mediator and fix everything in his wake. He did feel kind of badly about the whole mess that had sprung up though. "I think I'm kind of soft," he told us. Yeah, that would be an understatement.
The next day, Jen had lunch with the girls and talked about how frustrated she was that Stephen had yelled at her when she was merely trying to look out for him. Her frustration was warranted. However, she should also realize that she wasn't merely keeping him away from other girls -- she was also sticking his face in his own transgressions. You see, people. It's not black-and-white. It's gray! Many fabulous, idiotic shades of gray.
Back at the house, Alex called his mom and told her the story, this time adding that he was wasted when he made his comments -- you know, just another thing to distance himself from actual responsibility. Last time I checked, he seemed pretty sober. Nevertheless, this led to him and Jenn having A Big Talk about understanding and trust and yada yada yada. His chin quivered, Jenn felt better, and the two hugged. Yay! Resolution.
But the show wasn't over yet. Now Jenn and Stephen had to resolve their issues, and while both of them were contrite, it seemed definitely like Jenn was doing the bulk of the apologizing. Stephen merely did his whole bygones are bygones schtick, and as the episode ended, it was comforting to know that Stephen and Alex and Jenn had once again returned to a state of mind where none of them had to be responsible for their actions ever as long as there was an empty hug at the end of the rainbow. Tra la la la.
What did you think about this episode? Who was right? Who was wrong?

I got so excited when I saw Monarck and even more excited when Jenn started throwing stuff.
Unfortunately for the producers, it's going to be hard to make emotional breakdowns on this season entertaining after the whole n-word fiasco and the nail salon mishap. Even though their fights are all nonsensical and completely insane, they're normal by Real World: Denver, COLORADO! status.
But as long as someone says, "Brooke is losing her mind," at least once an episode, followed by loopy Brooke footage, I'll be satisfied.

So.... Davis is bisexual, mystery solved! He even said he enjoys sex with women, so duh, Brooke! Men can be gay, straight, and bi, and all variations in between.
I agree with Jenn, Alex is a fucking joke. He can't rebuild the "relationship and trust" with Jenn. She is abrasive for a reason; once trust is broken, it's gone.
Stephen being "soft" is the understatement of the whole season.
The true mystery of the season is what did Jenn's father do to her?

Ugggh! Alex has taken the prize as the world's biggest douchebag! What a jerk. Seriously, what was he thinking, that isnt even something to joke about. And what was up with that random shot of him talking about his mom...does he have a chin piercing?
I cant believe...Im actually feeling sorry for Jenn. It's obvious her alcohol problems are from much deeper reasons than her just being a party girl.

Best line of the night...
"Brooke has as much chance of sleeping with Davis as I have turning white."
Tyree is winning me over little by little.
Sorry guys, although I think Alex is a total douchebag, I also think Jenn is a raving asshole. I find it hard to find compassion for anyone who is the queen of what Alex was proposing. No, I'm not cold hearted... I'm usually a lot more sympathetic to people who aren't a nasty-ass drunk who spits venom every chance they get and then blames booze for the whole thing.

Amen gretcheepoo.
Jenn is actually making some club appearances in my city this weekend, and I told my friend that she seems a little dirty to me. He must really like her because he went on the defense super quick and tried to say that she just has fun and if I have such a problem with it why do I still watch her? I said no, I don't watch HER, I watch the show. Wow, I think he put her in his Top 8.
I really thought Alex was going to say something like, "The best thing you can do is just sit quietly when she just yells at you.." but no. He had to prove that he's just as stupid as he was the first night. WOW.

I was really hoping Stephen was going to say "I'm a quick forgive" again at the end of the make up session with Jenn. It would have made the episode come full circle. I also thought Tyrie said "Brooke has as much chance of sleeping with Davis as I have turning one" and I thought to myself, what a weird statement.

Did anyone else notice that the last thing that Jenn said before Stephan flipped out was something along the lines of "Don't go that to mercii, shes a wonderful beautiful girl"? That tells me that Stephan was totally getting mad because he was guilty not because of what Jenn was saying. ALSO, I hated how he said he was "soft with women" implying the Jenn totally shouldn't be forgiven for doing exactly what he told her to do, but stephan is just such a great guy, he's going to forgive her anyway. SO ANNOYING!

I will be forever grateful that I made the decision not to waste my time watching this show anymore. The recaps are aggravating enough.
I wish this blog had been around for the Las Vegas season. It would have been nice to see someone take IRULAN to task for her knack of refusing to accept responsibility for her own actions. I've never seen someone weasel out of so much so smoothly on such a regular basis.

Didn't Stephen having a girlfriend kind of come out of left field? I don't remember hearing anything about her before. He's still a closeted gay man in my book. The next Mark Foley, perhaps. The hypocrisy is already there.

I agree that Alex was being a douche, but I have absolutely no sympathy for Jenn. If someone else in the house had the father situation she had, I wouldn't put it past her to bring it up in an argument. She's the kind of person that will keep grabbing for straws until she can make you upset. Alex was completely right about her, she's tries to bring people down to her level. That being said, Alex should have never said to bring that up. No petty Real World argument is worth hurting someone to that extent.
Also, I don't know if I just watch too closely, but it seemed like that whole conversation between Alex and Stephen was edited together. Half the time you don't actually see Alex saying it which it a telltale sign that they're piecing stuff together. The part where he says "you already know she doesn't have a father" is spliced really quickly with him telling Stephen to use personal things. It seems like he was in the process of listing stuff that would make Jenn mad, but they cut it off after the father comment to make it seem like he was just suggesting that.
Jenn seems like the Tyler of this season. No one wants to piss her off when she's drunk because she gets crazy and violent but they shouldn't have to live in fear of doing anything because of Jenn reacts. You can tell she knows this and loves it. Somehow she always ends up getting an apology from someone after she blew up on them and it's ridiculous.

Did anyone find it strange, yet humorous, that during the jacuzzi scene when everyone is making out and the camera pans and you see Tyree just standing there ogling...for some reason that cracked me up.
Also when Collie made the comment about the other girls alcohol blood level. How the hell do they come up with such ridiculous statements.
Why weren't alex or stephen mad at davis? I would be pissed that he would do such a douche bag move.
I agree about jenn being a bitch, it makes me respect Tyree more since he is the only one in the house who can stand up to jenn. Everyone else just gets owned and put down horribly.

I agree with RealityMonkey, Stephen is definitely gay. I've thought that since day one when he appeared so overly against homosexuality.

Overall a very boring episode.

At the end of the episodes it always feels like Danny Tanner is gonna give the Deej, Stephanie and (anorexic fashion victim) Michelle a hug and make a speech about their dead mother. Why does every episode end in a cheesy hug / "realization"?

I know this sounds crazy, but after watching this episode, I think Alex has feelings for Jen. I think he wanted Stephen to say those things to jen so that he can console her and be in good terms with her again. Why would he butt in all of a sudden for no reason or purpose? He wouldnt have gotten involved if he didn't have any interest in her. I am willing to bet that they will become a couple during the season, and then break up at the end...

This season has been all hype. The fights have been all been so stupid.
I just thought the Davis/Brooke parts were really funny. Davis seems to be BI when drunk and gay when sober. Interesting. He totally would have porked Brooke had she not punked out. Brooke wants to have sex but only with someone she is in a committed relationship with. Good luck finding that being on the Real World.

Although she was drunk, I have to take Jen's side on this one. And yes I found it odd that these pass-the-blame-roommates didn't look to find Davis and rip him a new one for going back to Jenn & ratting on their conversation... or is that gonna happen in another episode?
Tune in to find out!

So, Davis admitted to having sex with a woman three months ago. Which means he's technically bisexual. He even said in the casting special his boyfriend now is his first boyfriend I think, or that he used to go out with girls after he came out. I still thinks he's confused. Davis needs to go back into the closet, lock the door, and rethink his life. =].
As for the Alex-Stephen-Jenn thing, Jenn's usually pretty irrational, but this time I think she was in the right. Stephen just wants to stay, in his mind at least, this good church-going innocent guy. He just was in denial that he actually think that he cheated on his girlfriend. Playing a game? Please, no girl in her right mind would stand for that. Then there's Alex. My jaw was open when he said what he said about Jenn's dad. I mean, how cruel can you be? Jenn does get personal in her fights when she's drunk, but she's never gone that far. Why stoop to that level? And he was serious when he said it, you could definitely tell. He was just upset he got called out for it.Alex is an idiot as far as I'm concerned. But I was surprised Jenn forgave him so quickly.

Am I the only one who thinks Jen doesn't REEAALLY care about Stephen and Mercii? I think she's just trying to be "the girl who cares" to create drama or make herself appear a certain way. Since when is she one to correct anyone else on their moral obligations? Didn't she fuck the guy her maid of honor liked?
For the record, Jen and Colie are both still totally in love with Alex whether they'll admit it or not.

One of my favorite things to look forward to in every episode is Brooke's confessionals, when she does this real hound dog kind of look with her face and she just starts bitching about stuff. She's always looking up but her head is hanging down and she's shaking her head because 1) her life supposedly sucks or 2) her roommates suck.
Expect lots of this hound dogging next week when she's forced to go camping again.

Here is a list of some of the things I can't stand with the cast:
1. Jenn- This belligerent drunk needs to stop pretending she is aware of her actions and justifying them as acts of a normal sane person.
2. Colie- the hoe bag- this "Durty Jursey" whore needs a slap in the face. She needs to stop acting like she's a product of New Orleans and then thrive on all the assocation with the tragedy. You are from Jersey, that's tragic enough. STOP ASSOCIATING YOURSELF WITH NEW ORLEANS AND KATRINA!
3. Brooke- I think this girl is pathetically funny! I don't dislike her but she's a drama queen that hasn't annoyed me...yet, but I definately see it happening.
4. Gay Guy--- Stephen! not Davis. Davis can and prolly would like more Punani than Stephen. Notice how he's against homosexaulity but continually act like the gay guy of the house---
5. MOST GAY LOOKING AWARD GOES TO: Alex---the supposed manwhore. SOmething about the pink shirts and the earing... hmmm
6. Tyrie-- so out of place. He's normal of the bunch and seems to me a genuinely nice guy with a good head on his shoulders-granted he's got Leroy Jenkins in him, but Mr. Jenkins could have easily beaten or massacred all those stupid representatives of 22 year olds of America BUT he hasn't! I give him lots of props for living in HELL!!!!
7. Davis-- he's so confused. This guy strikes me as a dude that find being a homo is like the return of pedal pusher pants (capris) It's like "it's so hot to be gay right now so I'll be gay, but continually flirt with girls and fuck them cuz I enjoy it." He's got the best cover up ever! Just think about it: He's gay, has a boyfriend, but if he sleeps with a girl it wouldn't be cheating cuz he's not sleeping with a guy! oh man this guy is the biggest hetero EVER!
WHAT KIND OF FUCKING JOB DO THEY HAVE?????? Awful awful awful MTV... awful!

I really can't stand Jenn. She talks too damn fast, can't apply make-up for shit, her dancing is horrific, she's an ugly, messy, angry drunk, and thinks she's cool because she has a "strong personality". What kind of an idiot comes home and throws pizza and ice around the kitchen for no apparent reason?? I would wipe the floor with that bitch if I had to live with her!
When Alex first said "I think you should get to know her..." to Stephen I thought he was going to say get to know her so you can better understand why she acts the way she does. I was pretty surprised when he said get to know her so you can use her weaknesses against her. That's damn mean, but if that bitch kept going off on me like that, I would want to hurt her feelings, too!
I'm not entirely convinced that Alex really said it the way it supposedly went down though. They didn't show him saying that, which always leads me to believe that it might be creative editing.
I loved when Jenn said about Stephan that he has a "real sharp tongue". And we don't like sharp tongues when they're directed at us, now do we Jenn? But when you're spewing your vicious remarks, that's okay.
Totally off topic, but what the hell is up with that retarded ass jig that Davis is doing in the opening credits?

Ugh! Okay this episode I guess I was pretty much just upset with gay Stephen. Now this dude thinks he some kind of player. C'mon man who are you fooling? I'm surprised to see somebody as pretty as that girl gave him the time of day. I hope she dumped his ass!

Everybody seems to be giving Jenn a hard time in regards to her character and saying who is she to tell Stephen not to "cheat" on Mercii. Ok, I agree she need AA and has her own issues, but she was merely being a good friend. I recall Stephen "asked" her to remind him not to "cheat"! First of all what is up with that??? Grow up! For the record Stephen, "you were totally snogging all these random chicks, and YES that is cheating. I wonder if you think it would be ok if Mercii did the same and dipped in a hot tub full of naked guys??? I guess I was disappointed, because you were going on and on "bla bla" about being so "christian" and how being "gay" is not right. Well who are you to judge, not much of a character yourself. Pratice what you preach! As for Brooke...somebody please give her a big paper bag to cover her head, she is such a irritating whiner!

Rolepolee...I'm sorry, if anything Brooke's body is her main selling point, not her face...and even then her personality negates her body!
I completely have to side with Jenn in the Jenn/Stephen fight, since everything she said was true. I can't stand Stephen because I hate Christians who are all "homosexuality is wrong, homosexuality is wrong because that's what it says in the Bible", yet something tells me that Stephen is not saving himself for marriage. Also, when he screamed at Jenn to "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" that didn't seem very Christian...God, he sucks.
I absolutely cannot stand Alex, I don't think he's at all attractive and I don't understand how he's managed to hook up with (what seems like) a lot of girls since he's been in the house. Did anyone else think when he was "crying" that was completely fake?
Why did they even give the Brooke/Davis B-story any screen time?

Sam1, #35
Hey Sam1,
I have to respectfully disagree here.
#1 - Tyrie was totally out of line and aggressive toward Davis, in the infamous "N--" episode. Sorry, but if someone ever did that to me, even once, they would be permanantly in the Douchebag category. He's scary and violent, and that aspect of his personality can come out at any time.
#2 - How does being confused mean your not "really" gay? Also, if Davis cheated on his boyfriend with a woman, I can assure you that not only would that be considered cheating by his boyfriend - it would 10 times WORSE than cheating. Also, gay men are not priests, they are conditioned to function in a hetero society, a lot of young gay men/boys have relationships with women either before they come out, or while they are figuring it out - believe me, they're still primarily sexually attracted to MEN.
Brooke's having fun flirting, and so is Davis because they're both flirts who love attention but don't really want to screw anybody.
Sorry, I just felt like I had to put in my 2ยข on the gay thing - you know, it's a "Will & Grace" thing - (Will slept with Mira Sorvino afterall.)

Once again, I agree with Cheez....Tyrie is normal? Are you kidding me? It's true that he's out of place. Nobody likes him. Everyone gets along, even though there are arguments here and there, but nobody in the house respects Tyrie after the way he treated Davis. He's such a jerk....
But I have to agree with Sam1 about Davis. He's Bi, plain and simple. He is a gay guy who's attracted to hot girls like Brooke, which brings my attention to Rock Star's comment.
Brooke's body is average at best compared to Jen and Colie....Maybe I'm thinking Brooke's face is pretty because she's among 2 butterfaces, but I don't think anyone else will deny that brooke's eyes and lips are very attractive.

Sardini......YES I totally agree with your statement. After (finally) watching the episode, it seemed to me like Jenn didn't really give a flying fuck about Stephen OR Mercii, but was merely trying to pick a fight and cause drama because she was drunk. Not only that, but why in the world would Stephen put Jenn in charge of making sure he's "in check" with Mercii? I would trust the bum down the street more than her!!!!
As for Alex...what he said was pretty messed up. It's comments like THAT which makes Jenn so f---ed up in the head about guys and makes her act the way she does. HOWEVER, I do agree that Jenn is always trying to bring people down to her emotionally fucked up existence. maybe it's a control thing for her....if she can take people "there" then she can control them (and the situation) by yelling, screaming and going toally apeshit. She's done that to Alex TWICE already!!!!

Cheez T and Rolee Polee,
I guess to my standards I'd say that a guy who tells everyone that he does have an angry side is not being normal and I guess it's quite normal to flip out when you're drunk to be racist.
I guess it's okay for someone to shout out racist remarks to a jerk, and also get in their face, and ask a completely angry man who can beat you to a pulp calm himself from about rage level number 11 out of 10 to a less intimidating state.
All I'm saying is, everything in the Real World house have been petty and out of drunkenness. So out of the 7 stupid immature drunks, I'm voting Tyrie as most "normal" as compared to the others.
Let's not forget that Davis is a racist. Is this normal? Being homosexual should have taught him about tolerance. Anyone notice that Tyrie called Davis every boy band member ever (because he kinda looks like he could belong in one) but he did not call him a fag.
Maybe normal shouldn't have been the word I used.

Again, I disagree. The whole problem was caused by Stephen, really, if you think about it. He HAD to cry to Tyrie about Davis ditching him, when in fact, Davis was just feeling drunk and sick, so he just went home. Tyrie then blew up at Davis as though he did somthing really horrible to Stephen. Tyrie is just a hot headed jerk, plain and simple. He tries so hard to come accross as this nice sensitive guy who cares for his friends, but he's a complete fake, and only cares about himself. Again, I think Brooke is the only normal one in the house. She is a whiner, yes, but she has yet to argue and hurt any of the housemates. She maintains her integrity by not getting nailed by any guys in the house or from the club.....but again, we have yet to finish the season, so who knows...

I honestly can't believe I'm helping to contribute to this argument...but when the hell has Tyrie ever shown that "he's a complete fake and only cares about himself"? Obviously we all saw him flip out, but it's not like Davis was innocent in that situation either, because when Tyrie realized he was being irrational he walked away and Davis kept instigating...and Brooke is NOT normal, just because she has refrained from sleeping with people so far this season that doesn't mean she's a good person. She's just a self-centered 24-year old brat...

Davis is awesome. Tyrie is a hot headed raging black man who does not care for his roomates at all. I mean think about it, he got all mad and shit cuz Davis left Stephen without letting anyone know! What an asshole Tyrie is. What an uncaring jerk who actually found something wrong about leaving someone behind! Oh and Tyrie also stood up for Davis at that bar when some assholes asked his roommate if he was a fag for wearing eye shadow! Tyrie, what an inconsiderate "faker who only thinks of himself"

Ok Ok, I guess I was a little too hard on Ty, but I still think he's fake. I'm not defending Davis, I think he's a jerk too. In fact, this season's cast is made up of self centered jerks. But Tyrie is the biggest jerk. I don't think anyone will deny that he's the most arrogant and self centered. And yes, Rock Star, compared to normal folks out in the "real world", she is a complete mental case. I was just saying she is the most normal out of the group...You can't have extreme good looks and brains, right?
