This was one fun summer for TV. Sadly it was void of all things ROCKSTAR. Sure we had Evel Dick...but where are my Marty Casey's? Where are my JD Fortune's? Where, prey tell are my Dilana's? Well, I spotted one of those guys this past weekend when I was in RENO for a fundraiser to benefit the Lili Claire foundation (which raises money for children born with disabilities).

The night was very fun for TV sicofans as it was hosted by sitcom star Sara Rue (way hot in person) and offered entertainment by Sheri Belefonte who sang a duet with Special Olympic Gold Medalist Jay White. The main concert of the night began with a performance by Dilana from ROCKSTAR: SUPERNOVA. You may recall Dilana was not one of my top picks during the run of the show, but certainly would have been a better pick that transexual hobbit frontman for SUPERNOVA Lukas Rossi.

I digress. Today's blog is to let you know, I think I was wrong. I stand by my being ill impressed by Dilana on the CBS show, but god be damned if she's not a killer live show. That girl is a serious belter. If you have a chance to rewatch the season of ROCKSTAR: SUPERNOVA--- well read a book instead, or slide your dick in a sliding glass door, but if Dilana is in your home town and you have a chance to check her out at a good ticket price, I wouldn't hesitate.

A lot of the posts I do here these days are shilling DVDs from networks in exchange for free copies to give to you, our readers. In this case there is no quid pro quo. it was just a great night of music and entertainment and I of course got some of it on tape for you guys so I thought I'd share a taste of TVgasm / MUSICgasm come to life.

After the jump you can have a little look-see at Dilana singing ROXANNE without the stress of a reality show hindering her vocals. I may also be giving her a little pass because she was donating her time and talent to a terrific cause benefiting the Lili Claire Foundation.

**Side note, Dilana also sang a bunch of good originals which I don't see on itunes yet, but I'm sure they will have them there soon.

Now that Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke, and Jason Newsted have selected Lukas Rossi as their hobbit-like lead singer, they now face another dilemma: what to call their band. A court order on the day of the Rock Star: Supernova finale required the guys to drop their name, Supernova. Now, with months of marketing flushed down the tubes, the guys and their little helper monkey, Lukas, need a new name. Maybe we can help out.

I'd like to suggest: Monkey Boy and the Geritol Gents, SuperOva, or The Band That No One Will Ever See.

Anyway, after ten weeks of auditions and antics, zombies and hobbits, shit and shinola, it's finally time for Supernova to select the singer that will lead them straight into obscurity. Or the $2.99 bin at Wal-Mart, whichever comes first.
