Hey there, Gasmii! It's been a week now, and I've mostly recovered from the finale of Shear Genius and am dealing with my feelings regarding the outcome (i.e. with Lesbiana Dee winning the title of "Shear Genius"... and that's great for her, I just feel like in her case it really should be called "Shear Repetition"). I have to be honest when I say that I didn't agree with the judges/producer's choice to hand the competition over to Dee, primarily because my favorite stylestant ever ever ever didn't win...
...Charlie Price... Robbery Victim...
From the moment I saw the promos for Season 2 of Shear Genius, and heard Charlie's first sound bite "It's gonna be a beauty bloodbath!" I immediately turned to my boyfriend and said "That guy... whoever he is, he's going to be the most fun to watch on this show this season..." And I was so right! I have actually been blessed to have become buddies with Charlie Price since he commented on one of my recaps a few weeks ago, and since the season was over and the winner was made public, I thought it would be a really cool thing to have kind of a Q&A with him and get some inside views on the show and what Charlie really thought of it all. After the jump, I present to you... Thirty Questions With Charlie Price!...
J-Mo: First off, how do you feel about the judges choice of "winner"?
CP: Once I saw Sally I knew I wasn't man enough for the challenge... if you get my meaning...
J-Mo: If you disagree with their choice, who should have won? (Pretend I don't know the answer to that already, LOL)
CP: Well, let's just say this... it takes the other two an hour to do one updo...
J-Mo: Who was your favorite judge on the regular panel?
CP: Kelly Atterton... I respect any beauty editor's opinion... and Kim Vo is merely comic relief!
J-Mo: Is Jaclyn Smith really that nice?
CP: Even nicer!
J-Mo: Who was your favorite guest judge out of all the myriad people who breezed through this season?
CP: Linda Wells. She was the only one that took everything into consideration when making comments. Oscar Blandi baffled me... and Michael Grecco was *ahem* less than credible.
J-Mo: I know you just won a NAHA award for 2008... tell us what that is, and what other awards you have won.
CP: NAHA (North American Hairstyling Awards) is the biggest award to be given out each year in North America. I was awarded the title of North American Stylist Of The Year 2008. I was lucky enough to win in 2002 as well. I am one of only two to win it twice (the other is canadian) and the only American to win it twice.
J-Mo: Who do you still talk to / are friends with out of all the other stylestants?
CP: Daniel, Nicole and Glenn... Daniel is dating my boyfriend Salvador's brother Marco! Now that could be a TV show, no?
J-Mo: Who was portrayed dead-on accurate (as they really are)?
CP: We all appeared as we are... good or bad... situations are manipulated slightly in the editing, but thats it. Anyone who says otherwise is deluded!
J-Mo: Were YOU shown accurately, or did you get vilified in the editing room?
CP: I loved being the villain! It's the only role to play as far as I'm concerned. I gave them only one choice as to how to portray me.
J-Mo: Who got a bum rap / helping hand from the editing of the show?
CP: If I were Meredith or Nekisa or Matthew or Oshun I would leave the country! Some of that is gonna follow them around like a trail of shit for yeeears!
J-Mo: What is your drag name? (i.e. Name of first pet, plus your first street address name... mine would actually be Cheyenne Hayward)
CP: Doobie Joplin.
J-Mo: Who in the house hooked up with each other? *cough*Dee&Nekisa*cough*
CP: Well, Dee obvoiusly wanted to be nursed by Nekisa... but Nekisa just wanted attention. There was no other chemistry to speak of in the house... in fact, us gay boys referred to ourselves as "The Golden Girls"!
J-Mo: Did you guys really drink as much as they made it look like you did? (i.e. every single night?)
CP: Ummm, we drank more!
J-Mo: Would my continued use of Feria be horrifying to you? Even though J-Lo endorsed it? And I keep seeing myself in it?
CP: Anything J-Lo likes, I like! As a professional colorist I can never truly be on board with grocery store color, though... *laughs*

Yay!!! How fun that that was really our Bitchy Charlie chiming in . . . surely he was lost in the charm of your snarkiness and had to weigh in!
So, since I've recently had the pleasure of making your acquaintance, why not set up a meet and greet with me and Charlie so he can get those sexual advances he's craving!!!! LOL!!!! Thanks to you CP for giving me a reason to hit pause and frame advance on a hair dressing show, and no it wasn't to compare Kim Vo's lipstick with paint swatches either . . .
Very fun interview, but you didn't ask if Salvador got the nose job he was craving!!! (oh, well I guess that would have been if he'd won, so nevermind . . . )
I'm still digesting the latest Tabby recap, and the douchery is in spades on that one!!! I'm gonna get some eggs and find me that Honda . . . I'm just sayin'

Let's face it, Charlie, you're a great hair stylist, but you did make the girls look older. :)
All in all, I think you have a great reputation, Congratulations, btw, for your awards, and now you got lots of publicity! Maybe we'll even see you in spin off show soon!

Bitchy Charlie was the best on the show :). definitely the best stylist by far. And he should totally have his own spin-off like Tabatha's crazy ass.

Aaaaaah, Bitchy Charlie. I really liked you when you were just plain Funny Charlie. Wish you could be bitchy and spice and everything nice like our J-Mo here.
You know, you can always go rob a bank with Fredo to pay for Salvador's nose job. Oh, never mind, that was Al Pacino, and it was a sex-change. I guess the super-duper NA-something prize will have to do. Congrats!
