Bev just loves this photo. The General has a problem with Hope's height. Robbie falls completely in love with Bahia's picture, especially the way that she just turns her head slightly to the side.
The pink team is dismissed the blue team called forward.
The Kimsicle shares that these ladies just didn't seem like they were as cohesive as a group and that they were a little bit scattered as a team. The General comments that he feels like there are two different photos going on. There's the Paula/Sharon photo, which is like a double, and, then, there's the three other women trying out for the rockets. Of course, Paula is the only women in the group comfy with the idea of grabbing on to another woman's naked body, so she's pulling Sharon right over to her. None of the other women have any idea of what to do with their hands. You've got to give it to ole 'nothing straight about me Paula', she might be uncomfortable in front of a camera, in heels, or in dresses, but she's sure as hell comfortable grabbing a naked woman's body.
Robbie just luuuuvvvvvvs Paula's toned, naked body. He goes so far as to say that, if he had her body, he'd go naked in the middle of winter going to the grocery store. Love you Robbie, but I still feel like the judges are maybe going out of their way to make Paula feel good.
The Kimsicle calls up the blue teams second photo.
The General doesn't like the way Sharon is so relaxed, but Tanya behind her is so upright. They all agree that Tanya is 'actressy', which, remember, is not a compliment, or was that 'actery'? Anyhoo, she's also too regal and trying too hard. Bev isn't feeling the sister love between the women and tells the group, "All that hand holding, that claw thing, there, that's happening between you guys; that's just totally awful."
The Kimsicle sends the women away while the judges make their decisions. And the editors give us a muddled montage of the judges deliberating and the women interviewing. Honest Karin tells us that the women are nervous. At the judges' table, Robbie likes Melissa, but Bev is not crazy about Melissa. Bahia tells us that she can't go back to her regular life. How is she supposed to go back to waiting tables and serving food. The General thinks Karin and Tanya are equally horrible because they don't go along with the rest of the group. Tanya tells us that she came all this way and packed all these clothes and she doesn't want to go home. I'm thinking that maybe the judges could send just her clothes home.
The women are called back for the final decision and the Kimsicle assures them that this was a tough decision for the judges. The General is wearing his steely eyed grim expression as Kim announces that Bahia and Celeste are 'on the board', followed by Tanya and Melissa who are also still on the board. Then, Roxanne is asked to please step forward. The General tells her that he's impressed with how she shoots individually, but he's by no means impressed with how she composed a team and led that team and that was troubling for him. Moment of tension, but Roxanne is still on the board. I'm a little sad, I could have coped with Roxanne leaving.
Paula is called forward and I have to admit that I'm hoping she goes. The General tells her that he's dealt with a lot of models who have issues regarding getting along with others and that was clearly part of the concern in his and the other judges decision. So, that means she's going home, right? No. Paula is still on the board and I'm beginning to stress. I mean, I basically like the remaining women and two of them are going.
Kathy is called forward and Robbie and Kim are looking mighty disapproving. The General says that she's an example of somebody who had a remarkable transformation, but, when he and the other judges look at her photos, they all agree that she's the one out of the group that looked the most uncomfortable. Then, the General looks deadly serious as he says that he believes in his heart and, what's more, Wilhelmina clearly believes that being a mother is in no way a direct conflict with being a successful model. That being said, he really needs to know if she honestly wants to be in the competition.
Kathy sniffles and wavers ambivalently. "I do want to be here... I do... My kids are so important to me."

I think Bahia is shorter (or at least same height) as Hope. They both had heels on and Bahia looked shorter. Judges never comment on that.

Doubt I'll ever watch, but loved your recap. The gallery of make-overs really helped me connect names with faces (I wish every recap had one).
I think the loony, I victim, woman will last a long time, just because she adds so much drama.

Yep, Sharon was my fav too - Im thinking now that she's gone, the house has lost its only sane person.
I LOL'd at the yoga caption - if I was Sharon I would have said, "'cuse me but can you keep your cooter outta my face? Thanks, doll."

grrrrrrrrr my 2 faves booted in one episode :( I have the same problem as you Yenta- my picks always go home. I should start rooting for Paula- then maybe we'd have a chance to get rid of her.
In real life though, I'm feeling like I might jump on the Bahia bandwagon. I'm just not sure who I like now though, I'm soooo lost w/ out my grandma Sharon and Soccer mom. :(

I totally agree with Paula--there is too much judgement placed on appearances in our society and I don't want to be judged that way...that's why I choose to NOT take part in a show based totally on physical appearance!!!! Jeez, Paula, the show is named "She's Got the Look", and you want sympathy that the show is judging you on your looks? If you got a story to tell, Paula, go on Dr. Phil.

I think Hope is a hoot, and I think she'll make it to the end just for that, I really like her, she's gorgeous and genuine, but we all know not the winner. Of all the bodies, Paula's was the best . . . . but Sharon is crazy smooth for a woman her age--very impressed, and will miss her, I too thought she might take it, and if nothing else, that woman rocks inner beauty for days . . . did anyone check out the diaries on line, or debut interviews . . . whatever they were, it showed Sharon making jewelry at home, and she's just a doll. Karin was super cool too--she started playing bass in a band at 39--too cool, and her interview in the teaser about being comic relief intrigued me . . . she should be fun to watch. Bahia does look short, but could be the winner fer sure--loved her snort at the life's pain segment--me thinks she's seen a few things in her day too! Surprised they got rid of 2, but I suspect Kathy begged to go . . she talked to her kids and got the feeling they were "happy" to be rid of her overbearingness, and her instinct was to get back asap and continue her suffocation . . . sorry if that's harsh, but puhleeese-- a contract at 3 years old . . . for attention . . . is it me!? I wish those kids luck, and I hope they are good to ol' Kathy, she was a nice lady, just needy!
Loved the false eyelashes . . . not sure they'll be able to bring her around, Paula bored me with her mumbling and whatever, she's hot and she rocked the shoot, so what's the prob, babe!?

Juddfan: I loved the video of Sharon at home too!! And Karin's base playing won me over as well : ) I was thinking that Kathy was so miserable that they offered for her to go home with the back up plan that Karin or Hope would go if she didn't. I like your idea better because it would make Hope and Karin seem a little safer.
Clair: I'm having the same problem with the names--Oy!! it will get easier after a few more go home.

Glad you like the idea, we'll see how it goes--there is one of those upcoming scenes things that shows a few episodes in, and I think I saw Bahia and Hope and Karin in them all, probably Roxanne too . . . Celeste is the one name I saw and said, WHOOO!!!??? Took me a minute, should we name her crazy pants! LOL!!!!

Is it just me, or is Tanya on the wrong reality show? She should totally be on "Real Housewives of Orange County". And, I'm sorry, but her makeover gave her anchorwoman helmet hair.
There is something about Melissa...I think you got it right, Yenta...no matter what they do with her hair she will always look 80's....think Christie Brinkley and Kim Alexis (when she wasn't frozen). That 1984 California girl-next-door look. Not a bad look to have, but certainly not fresh.
I was sorry to see Sharon go, but I am digging on Bahia. I enjoy the loner emo-kid grown up vibe...like she's the only one amongst them capable of a reality check.

Great recap, Yenta! I'm also having some trouble with the names and I'm so upset my Granny is gone!!
Sharon rocked and was, hands down, my favorite!! Now I'm pulling for Bahia for the win!
That Melissa chick reminds me of someone from the early 90's versus straight 80's and I tell you it's her face...so good luck with that one, honey! I do think she's very attractive but definitely not "fresh" as marishka pointed out.
Can't wait to see how this all plays out and if pouty Paula will strike again (you know she will so she can get plenty of "face time" in front of the camera)!!
