People, we were thisclose to getting Baby Oil kicked off tonight! I mean, of course there was no way Nigel was letting his eye candy go, but a girl can dream, can't she? In other news, there's another shocking male elimination and a... let's call it "quirky" opening number.
Welcome to SoYouThinkYouCanDance!
This move is called the "Crosswalk Disaster".
The opening group number tonight is creepy and weird. Everyone's dressed all in black and acting like a spazz. All to another Wade Robson song, too. Who knew he made music?? Sara is featured during the breaking section, and I'm glad that we're not just seeing Hok or Dominic again. I also love that part of the choreography involves the boys pulling the bottoms of their shirts through the neckline to make a belly-shirt. Very Camp Mahakenoe, circa 1992. There's some cool tumbling and then Sabra comes up as the wind... I guess, and she blows everyone into some uncomfortable looking positions. Uh. I don't get it. Less art, more flash, please!

Cat Deeley, decked out in a fetching yellow frock, reminds us that tonight the bottom three couples will have to dance to avoid the guillotine. She doesn't want to prolong the wait, so she brings out the first three couples right away. The crowd goes batshit crazy and Cat has to ask for "a little bit of hush." Heh.
First up, Lauren and Neil. Last night the judges loved Neil and found a greater chemistry between the pair. Did America feel the chemistry? Yes! Lauren and Neil are safe. Jessi and Pasha danced second last night and impressed the judges with their Jazz routine. Pasha was particularly favored. Did America agree? NO! They're in the bottom. HOLY SHIT YESSSSSSSS. I love you America!
Last night Jamie and Hok didn't fare as well with the judges. Their samba routine was pretty much panned by Mary Murphy, though Mia and her "love juice" enjoyed it. Ha, suck it, Joker, America loved it too, and Jamie and Hok are safe. Jamie is luuuucky she is paired with Hok. He's like an automatic pass to the Top 10.
Lacey and Kameron's Broadway routine received pretty good reviews, though Mia Michaels could have used a little more spice. Unsurprisingly, Lacey and Kameron are safe. Anya and Danny's Viennese waltz was a hit with the judges, despite the absolutely INANE music. They got the first scream of the night from Mary Murphy, so you know they are safe as well.
That leaves Sabra and Dominic, and Cat reminds them they were in the bottom last week as well. Like they could forget it. Things don't look good, since they're the last couple in the group, but PSYCH! They're safe too! I bet the three couples in the last group are sweating hardcore right now.
To recap the last group: Sara and Jesus did a Paso Doble to Queen. It was about as bad as you'd expect, though tonight's clips provide a little revisionist history, which tips me off that they are the safe couple in this group. Jimmy and Shauna's hip-hop was met with tepid reviews while Faina and Cedric's Foxtrot was just plain panned. Clearly, Sara and Jesus are safe.
When asked if they're shocked by the results, all three judges say they are mostly shocked to see Pasha and Jessi in the bottom. Meanwhile, only the other two couples stand onstage. BURN! Nigel says he's starting to worry about Cedric because his own dance style is great, but he can't do anything else. STARTING to worry? This has been your worry all along. Um, basically since he got to Vegas. I bet they even made him do choreography at his original audition. Shut up, "starting." Nigel rambles for a while about why he thinks Cedric isn't right for the competition. Hey buddy, save it for when you actually kick him off. Getting a little ahead of yourself, aren't you?
So that's what it feels like to have a second asshole.
First solo is Jessi. She's wearing some ugly hippie tablecloth dress that she constantly lifts to show her stomach. Yes, we remember why you're here, Jessi, thanks. This solo is so mediocre. There's barely more movement than Ashley had in her solo last week. After she finishes, Cat asks what it would mean to go on, and Jessi replies, "I guess... everything." Eloquent and verbose! "Fingers crossed you've done enough." Cat says. Ha, so not crossing my fingers.

UGH I can't believe they got rid of Jimmy to keep Cedric once again.
He's shown that he's just not good at other styles.
Yeah yeah SYTYCD is a journey blahblahblah, but last week, it didn't even look like he tryed.
And WTH was up with Jessi's piss poor excuse of a solo?? WTH woman, no one wants to see your damn underwear! Stop trying to distract us from your craptastic dancing.

ÜBER-BOO indeed! wtf jidges! i say let cedric perform one of mias numbers, that should give her a change of heart. once hes completely screwed up HER type of dance, i doubt she'll be cheerleading uniqueness anymore.
and i'm glad i wasnt the only one who thought pasha rocked his solo. what was nigel talking about?
btw, i thought that was sabra as "the wind" in that bizarre opening number.

Dammit! I don't think "Americker" (as Cat would say) got it wrong, I think the "jidges" did.
Baby Oil and Cedric should have gone home.
Here's hoping no one votes for Baby Oil this week, either!

double ugh. i was so happy that jessi was in the bottom three and couldn't believe her terrible dancing-it wasn't like she even tried. and then faina's dance...did anyone else notice the pole action at the end??
as much as i like cedric (not so much for his dancing but for how he just seems nice and so serious)he definitely should have left over jimmy who i thought was amazing. my viewing party was so surprised he and shauna were in the bottom three-we all loved their hip hop routine (even though the stepping could have used a little more work. one of us even busted their lip on the coffee table trying to recreate it!

Am I the only one questioning Cedric's "uniqueness"? I mean, sure he was unique, but he does the SAME MOVES over and over again. Okay, we get it, you look like you're made of rubber when you dance...any new moves? no? figures.
Also, if Shauna would dance like that every time, she wouldn't be in the bottom three. That performance gave me chills.
And finally, I'm more of a music person than a dance person, so can someone please explain to me why
Jessi was ever let through. I honestly turned the channel during her original baby oil performance. I thought that surely the judges would find that ridiculous and kick her out. So, why is she considered good? anyone?

Oh yeah.. Pasha's solo... WTF was Nigel talking about that it wasn't good enough?
I thought he was amazing during his solo.
And WTH was up with them comparing him to past contestants from different seasons!!?! Seriously??
How is that even fair??

Yeah...while Faina's solo was not great, Baby Oil was fucking horrific. Literally, I could have done that. Do you know how much dance training I have? None. I mean, we offer her to you on a platter, all you have to do is SEND HER HOME. And you keep her around. If the idea is to dance for your life, she really shouldn't be there any more. I. Hate. Her. i was surprised that he ripped pasha apart, altho his dance wasn't really great. I'm confused by the decision to send Faina home because they kept saying she was amazing she was amazing you're only here (in the bottom 3) because of your partner....WTF? Do you think that family has any more siblings to send to the show next year?
I'll miss Jimmy!

Seriously, you've all read my mind.
I thought Pasha's solo was fantastic, I think Nigel was just trying to get him to work harder in the partner rounds or something. At least we got baby oil in the bottom 3. Note to judges, don't be shocked, we all HATE her dancing. That's why they are in the bottom 3.
And I were Faina I'd be freaking pissed as hell that that Cedric was the reason I was in the bottom 3 again and she got cut and he didn't. Craptastic.

My husband also described baby oil as being the "haley scarnato" of the show.

LMFAO @ Laurie and the Haley reference. I almost just spit water all over my computer. :)
I thought she was the Natalie of this season (remember her from last year?!) But Haley might be a much better reference.

Shauna is my favorite after that solo. I think I watched it 20 times. Those turns were amazing.

i have to admit that i am biased. Faina was my favorite--just like Ricky before her--and although i didn't have anything against the stripper, wtf? Faina's solo wasn't her best, but at least she actually danced, and she seemed energetic and looked great. the stripper rolled around on the floor and showed her underwear, her dress and hair were a hot mess--i thought she was like Natalie, but Natalie was a much better dancer. the jidges were unanimous? (i can't help but call them jidges)
plus the jidges kept saying that Faina was only there because her partner let her down--then she got kicked off and he stayed? don't get me wrong, i really like Cedric, but even he knew it was time for him to go. Jimmy's solo was good and he has done well in both of his performances.
i guess i don't get what the jidges based their decision on--was it the solos, the performance the night before, or the overall performances, personality? some weird combination that allowed them to keep the stripper and Cedric?
