Ok, super-bleh episode... I was NOT entertained.... The first half sucked a** until Mark & Chelsi came on and even their routine was just ok... I'm blaming the choreographers this season, not the dancers. I think the dancers are a pretty strong bunch, but the choreographers (with a few exceptions) are just not doing it for me this year...

Katee and Josh's Mia routine was good, but I think the best of the night was Will & Jess doing the "Alone" dance. Jess held up pretty well, but Will just smashed it! Dude is AWESOME! and frickin' hot! I loved the part when he grabbed her ankle and pulled her to his lap! awesome, choreography! Kudos to Mandy....

I saw the results show (as I'm sure we all have) and I look forward to ur recap of that! :D

Yeah I agree they are giving the contestants are hard time, but it's actually not their fault it's the choreographers fault most of the time. These dancers can't do a whole lot with the weak choreography their given.

Favs. Twitchington - both routines Mark/Chelsie - 1st routine, Joshua and Katee - 1st routine, Will/Jessica - 2nd routine

It is a little too early for the couples to be dancing 2 routines. They are working those poor dancers to death and they have to do it all over again this week. They need to give those poor people a break, but anyway great recap as usual.

I absolutely HATED Kourtni and Matt's hip hop, as well as the bed routine. I usually like Mia's choreography, but that bed routine was like...nothing.

And what the fuck is up with the judges? They blow smoke up Will's ass ,even when they acknowledge that the pair messed up a few times (disco routine) when anyone else who messed up a few times would have been ripped a new asshole. And they're treatment of Jessica... "You suck, you're letting Will down, you don't deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us, WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF??!!" I don't like Nigel anymore, aside from being a douche, he's so creepy in the way he's always leering at the (female) dancers. It also pisses me off that he's like "MEN HAVE TO DANCE LIKE MEN!!!!!!!!" because I thought dance was one area in which gender roles were a bit more fluid...

I think the 2 dances per couple was an effort to redeem the season, which has been pretty disappointing so far. I agree with the first two posters, the the choreographers this year have been doing some incredibly sub-par work.

Er, that should read "their" treatment of Jessica. Whoops.

I also didn't like the Mia bed routine. I normally like her stuff, but this just looked like a lot of bouncing around. Some of the moves were nice, but the whole performance was just a little blah.

As for Jessica, I think the judges are just trying to berate her so she'll wind up in the bottom 3 and they can boot her off and put Will with someone they like better. And really, if she's so terrible, why did they keep her for the top 20 in the first place. They really are a little (more) wacky this season.

Amen on the Will/Jessica "Alone" routine. One of my all-time favorite songs, and it was amazingly choreographed and danced (by BOTH of them). I think Jessica psychs herself out a lot of the time (the judges' comments don't help), but the great thing about "Alone" was that her "character" was also insecure and it played out beautifully.
Once again, Katee/Joshua and Chelsie/Mark did not disappoint (esp. the first routines for both of them).
I'm not a Comfort fan so much (and I HATED the "Cool" dance, although more for the choreography), but her waltz was very pretty.
Joshua seems like a sweetie. I wanted to give him a hug when he broke down on stage.
Liked Twitchington's Mia bed dance but it sort of paled after the awesomeness that was "Alone."

great recap! i didnt really like the bed dance that much, i feel like it didnt showcase that much dancing, but twitch shirtless was definitely a plus! did anyone else know that mia claims she is straight? i totally thought she was a lezzy

Great recap. I think there are three clear favorites at this point (four if you include Will and Jessica).

A couple of the best choreographers were lost to Dance Crew.

I think the costume choices have hurt (or helped) some people as well (example: Twitches shoulder pads).

I'd rather see one spectacular, well rehearsed dance than two rushed, not quite ready for prime time ones.

The judges do seem to favor certain contestants.

I think you did the smart thing - not revealing your secret identity to Melanie. (We don't want to have to break in a new recapper this far into the season!)

Love love love Mark and Chelsie (Mark especially has really started to amaze me), Katee and Joshua (despite Katee’s unfortunate hairdo in the first dance) and Twichington! By the way, how is it that none of the judges commented on Twitch’s ABS? Holy Scmoly that’s quite a sixer! I also really like Courtney and Gev, although this week they didn’t really do it for me – I blame the lame-ass choreography.

I think the judges are way too harsh on Jessica, and it’s kinda making me dislike Will as a result. I know it’s not his fault, and I know he’s a great dancer, but the amount of sucking up to will contrasted with the unnecessary blasting of Jessica just makes me ill. I think the judges definitely play favorites, and it makes me not like their favorite Will. I agree with Rockstar’s assessment: “You suck, you're letting Will down, you don't deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us, WHY DON'T YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF??!!" I mean, WTF?

I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing a lot of the problems coming from the choreographers...especially some of these newer choreographers. Too bad the dancers keep getting the blame.

I may be in the minority, but I think Mia Michaels is incredibly over-rated. All her stuff is starting to look alike. The extra jiggle in the catch-jump to make dancers appear rubbery...the flexed feet during a lift...the "expressive" jumping. And what is with her having dancers throw flowers so often?

Hey! Jess! You're holding Will back...you're the weak member of the partnership...generally, you suck...now, why don't you believe in yourself?

The Gev/Courtney number was set to the opening piece from On The Town...and most of the audience was too young to realize it, but the dancers merely recreated most of the original choreography. Hope they paid a royalty to Jerome Robbins's estate.

As for the reference to the OJ's...Backstabbers was a hit from the OJ's in the early 70's. More fun than funky...kind of funky-lite. (And funky was what the group had been known for.) Sing along if you remember: "They smile in your face...all the time they wanna take your place. The backstabbers. Backstabbers."

For God's sake, and the protection of my eardrums, could somebody PLEASE duct tape Mary's mouth shut????

I totally agree that most of Mia's coreography looks the same. When she does the opening routines(the one a few weeks ago and one last year with the blinking lights over the hearts) I alawys know it's her stuff before they even mention it. She's so repetetive. All the jumping and bounding around that she does just gets monotonous after a while.

While I don't like the tongue bath the judges constantly give Will (even though I think he IS fantastic), Jessica MUST GO. I can't freakin' stand her! Ever since she mispelled VEGAS she's been on my "most annoying" list...unfortunately she will ride Will's coattails to the top 10...cause even if her and Will are bottom 3 next week, anyone who's seen the results show knows who's going next week...wish they would've kicked Jessica off the first week! HATE.

But awesome recap as usual! "This move is called while you're down there..."...HI-LARIOUS!

Matt and Kourtni's hip-hop routine was terrible. Part of its bad results are due to Cecily and Olisa's choreography, which really isn't that great at all.

I didn't like Katee and Joshua's contemporary. It didn't particularly inspire anything in me.

I loved Twitch and Kherington's bed routine as well as Jessica and Will's draggy shirt one, though.
