Tonight we learn the fate of two more dancers, see if Paula's gotten drunk enough to show up yet, and receive confirmation YET AGAIN that Nigel is an arrogant, pompous prick. Welcome! To So You Think You Can Dance (dance..........dance)!

Have I told you lately, you're a jackass? You Are.
I really don't like the way they're doing the intros this year. I think it's a combination of hating the stage and the way they're miking the tappers. Hate it.

PLEASE tell me Mowee's not doing some cancer dance tonight. I will barf.
Cat reminds us that there is no results show yet again this week, and tries to make a joke about the World Series begin less prestigious, but no one gets it. I just wonder for the eight thousandth time why they call it the World Series when only American teams play. I am also puzzled as to why we park on driveways and drive on parkways, but that is a question for another time.
I'm wondering if I even need to bother going through who the judges are anymore. It doesn't look like they're planning on having any guest judges this season. Well, unless Paula decides to stagger on over to the judges' table.
Nigel thinks that the reason Paula hasn't shown up yet may be that he has her chair next to him (that's a distinct possibility), so he decides to move it next to Adam.

Nigel has some good news to tell us. He's spoken to Fox, 19, his own reflection, and Dick Clark Productions. They have agreed that Billy Bell can join the top one hundred in Vegas next season, and that Brandon can reapply. Wow. SO generous, isn't it?
I get that Brandon would have had to go through the entire audition process next season because he didn't make the top twenty, but given the fact that they brought him onto the show only to kick his ass right back out again, I think he should get a ticket straight to Vegas. Not the top one hundred, necessarily. Just get a ticket to Vegas.
I will bet you money that Brandon doesn't even get a whiff of the top twenty next year, let alone making it. Instead, we'll either see no mention of him at all, OR he'll make it to Vegas only to get cut in the first or second day. Poor kid should just bend over the table now, because he's in for a serious ass fucking come next year.
Cat is still selling the story that the couples are picking their styles randomly out of a hat. Sorry Cat, but I don't believe you.

I'm bringing the Easter Bunny to tea this afternoon.
Now THAT I do believe. I'll have the scones and lemon curd ready!
Are you ready for some dancing filler? Filler information for this show? Tell us the best and worst thing about your partner. The first couple up is Russell and Noelle. Yes, Noelle is back and ready to dance. Kinda makes you wonder just how serious that injury was, doesn't it?
Noelle tells us the best thing about Russell is his voice. Turns out the kid can sing too. Worst thing? He always wears his sunglasses.

He immediately proves her to be a liar.
Russell thinks the best thing about Noelle is that she's funny. The evidence we are provided to prove Noelle's "funniness" is a clip of her attempting to rap. I'd say that was more sad than funny. The worst thing about Noelle is that she's best friends with Mowee she keeps getting hurt.
They will be working with a new choreographer, Jamal Sims on a hip hop tennis piece. I.......guess.......that could be interesting. I'm just happy we have someone other than Tabitha and Napoleon. Predictably, Noelle gets all giggly when she's supposed to be serious.

I didn't like this. In fact, it's pretty sad when I'm sitting here wishing Tabitha and Napoleon had choreographed something here instead. I really never thought I'd say that. I think Russell handled the number better than Noelle, but I think the major problem with this routine is the choreography.
Adam first wants to say how great it is to have Jamal on the show. I wish I could say the same. Adam gives us an overview of Jamal's resume: he's one of the choreographers for all the Step Up movies, and he just directed and choreographed Miley Cyrus' tour. Hmmmm.....maybe that's the problem. Maybe he's still in teeny bopper mode.

Haven't finished the 1st page, but it is worth noting:
"PLEASE tell me Mowee's not doing some cancer dance tonight. I will barf."
Omg...Thought the exact same thing o.O

The opening bit bothered me too. That sort of "get off the stage, it's my turn to dance" thing seems very...rude.
I am definitely disturbed that I enjoyed Legacy's performance so much. I think it was Stacey's choreography. I liked what she did for this show before as well.
I hated Philip and his greasy face so I had no issue with him going. I think they booted him because he and Channing clearly did NOT get along and it was screwing with their dancing. Philip may be a good tapper but he sucked balls at both dances he did and well, he was a Greasy Marionette.
Mowee bugs me with her incessant belly-baring. I don't know why, and maybe I'm just old fashioned that way, but wandering around in a bra top all the time spells trashy to me. Jeanine used to do it all last season-yuck.
Assleigh-ick ick and triple ick. Get off my screen. The problem is they'll never be voted into the bottom three because Jakob is so stellar.
So, Bianca...her shoulders killed me. Everytime I watched her dance and her shoulders were chained to her ears I just wanted to say RELAX YOUR DAMN SHOULDERS, WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU??? Not all tappers have this problem as evidenced by Philip, whose tap dancing I actually don't mind for that very reason. His upper body is always very relaxed and fluid.
You got a perfect screen cap of Bianca and her shoulders being glued to her ears during her solo. She looks uncomfortable while she dances and it makes me uncomfortable.
The praise dance would have been so much better, I agree with you and Adam, if they had just LET GO. Praise dancing is not about being precise, it's about feeling the movement and being free in it and being ok with flailing.
I must disagree though and say I loved the flexed feet. Too much of dance is obsessed with pointed feet as though they are some how much more beautiful than flexed feet. No one points their toes when they are dancing in church ;-)
Lastly, I actually teared up and cried a bit when Philip mentioned his father dying. I have the utmost respect for him not bringing it up to gain sympathy from the judges and just expressing his feelings as he was leaving as a way to pay respect to his father. Major points, Greasy Marionette.

I cannot believe Channing wasn't in the bottom two!
And I read on another website that the plan was for Noelle to go home and Mary & Adam changed their minds after her desperate dance. Hee, hee! It's good to see Nigel's plans get screwed! Sorry it was at the expense of Biana. So the original idea was to lose only one tap dancer. I wonder if this means that Peter will go to the top ten, just so they can have a tap dancer on tour?

Is it me that Adam Shankman seems to have some issues with Meredith and Tony?
Last season he criticized them for choreographing a country number in the finale. Through all the seasons I do not remember any sitting judges ever criticized the choreographers directly.

Great recap PottyMouth; I always look forward to them! I, like you, am disturbed by how much I liked Legacy and Kathryn's performance. He has grown on me big time and I think I am just going to have to admit I like them both now.
Watching Russell and Noelle's number, I couldn't help but think that Russell would have killed a Shane Sparks number. The tennis hip hop choreo was crap!
PottyMouth you mentioned imagining Brandon and Janette doing the Wade number; during Victor and Bianca's number, all I could think of was how much Joshua and Katee would rocked it. Man, I miss Season 4. I also laughed out loud at your smizing comment; any opportunity to mock Tyra Banks is fantastic! I always look forward to the judges comments on Kevin and Karla because of Adam's gay man crush on her. I love how much he loves her.
5 of 24 | Posted by blazergirl | Posted on November 8, 2009 3:50 PM
Kevin reminds me of Vitolio a lot. Kinda skeevy, conceited and socially awkward. I really hope he goes soon. I hate hearing him talk.
I agree about Bianca. Sad to see her go though I wasn't really a big fan. Not sad to see Philip go. I kinda wished he was partnered with Ashleigh. That way they can contain the annoyingness into one part. And while they're at it, they should put Kevin in there too. And Mowee.
I was really dreading Kathryn but I'm really liking her now. As well as Karen. I was really hoping to love Pauline, but I think she's too small that it looks like a little girl dancing. I'm hoping to see her do contemporary next. Perhaps we'll see something good there.
I wonder if they saved Victor because he's physically more compatible with Channing. He's a lot more muscular than Philip. That partnership was doomed from the start.
I'm really liking Stacey Tookey. It's like having Mia around without that smug bitch look every freaking time that camera is on her. I looove that she seems so nice and genuine.
Judges are delusional in keeping Tyce around. When will that end?? I'll take back Mia with open arms if he goes. Can we vote choreographers out?

If I have to see that scene of Peter and his family sitting down to eat spaghetti one more time, I will curse the producers to have a life of a meatball.
I liked Bianca's spunk! She could have stayed another week because I don't see Nicole adding anything more to her dance or the competition. In the short term I will miss Bianca.
Philip's story was tragic but so were his lifts - he deserved to go.
I, for one, really loved Wade Robson's routine and have been unable to ascertain why it would be 'controversial'.
The best of the night for me was KatLeg (Kathryn & Legacy) again.
So this week we'll vote couples not individuals eh? Maybe the judges should have been letting couples go as well. Seems hardly fair does it?
By the way, the Russians agree - Nigel is a hated bastard!

Good observation on why Ellenore would need a bodyguard, I hadn't thought of that.
When describing Wade's routine as controversial I'm pretty sure the judges meant "polarizing." As in, the concept was so out there that audience members will either love it or hate it. So basically, they just used the wrong word.
While I still don't like the new stage, at least the show is learning how to use it to best effect. The huge screen in the background lends itself nicely to theatrical pieces. When it's used as a backdrop at least the lighting doesn't threaten to give me a seizure.
After watching Channing's near disastrous head bash in slow-mo, I'm pretty sure her head didn't hit the floor. It appears as if it did because her head snapped back up, but from what I can tell she stopped short and pulled herself up.
Kathryn and Legacy's routine rates near the top of my all time favorite contemporary dances. Most dancers over emote slightly to sell their performance, but the subtlety these two performed the routine with was perfect. They also benefited from good camera work -- this was one of the rare instances where the camera remained stationary for long stretches. I have a feeling that the worse a routine is danced, the more often the editors change camera angles in an attempt to fool viewers into thinking they're seeing something interesting. Anybody else notice Kathryn's fall during the routine? She did such a good job carrying on that I didn't even notice she fell until about the third viewing. It may have been Legacy's fault -- I'm not sure if he pulled her leg back too hard or if she just slipped and lost her footing. For good measure I'll blame him, even though the ill will I initially had for him has eroded and I'm actually happy about their partnership.
I'm probably going to draw some ire for this, but I think Nathan would have benefited from honing his skills and then auditioning for the show in another year or two. He's a decent dancer with a lot of promise, but he just isn't refined enough yet. He would have been so much better with a little more experience and maturity. That's not so say that Mollee doesn't have her faults, but everyone keeps criticizing her and praising him and I can't help but think it's because of just how so very "cute" he is. I'm not buying it.

Thanks again for making me laugh Pottymouth!
So many of your comments were similar to what I was thinking while watching the show -- only your version is so much funnier!
Nigel is an arse -- enough said. I think the judges comments on the Philip/Channing Samba were pre-determined to provide an excuse for Channing not making bottom 4. Great hip movement? Really? They could say that with a straight face? Her hip movement SUCKED! The whole dance sucked. She was painful to watch.
And not to be overly sensitive, but have you noticed that with the judges in control there have now been 4 ethnic minorities eliminated in the most ethnically diverse season to date? Not saying it's on purpose, but...

Great recap - so much so that I had to scribble notes throughout for my comments! I'm such a nerd, I know...
HATE Asseleigh! The waltz that they performed was quite good, but I still had my nose curled the whole time because of her. She should go just for the sole reason of making me not enjoy a piece as much as I could have without her in it!
I'm so glad that Adam is a permanent judge this season! I love him! Only he could do a pratfall and make me think he's adorable instead of a cheeseball! I also like the fact that he actually criticized the choreographers, although I wish it would have been that ridiculous tennis piece instead! I can't think of any of my beloved dancers from prior seasons who could have saved that mess!
I thought it was funny that Mary mentioned Joshua & Katie's Bollywood routine, because I thought of them too. Only I thought, how much better they were then Mowee and Nathan! I remember them showing Josh & Katie in rehearsals and how hard they were working on their hands. I definitely didn't see that precision from Mowee and Nathan, nor was it ever mentioned how it could be an issue.
I didn't watch to much of the auditions and only caught parts of Vegas, so I didn't know much about many of these dancers going into the performance shows. I also didn't know anything about Legacy's ties to the show before catching up here. It does sound awful shady, but he, along with Kathryn, have to be my favorites right now! Maybe his ties just prove how sometimes the judges just pick favorites and let go good dancers to make room for those that they believe have potential, therefore making him need the behind the scenes help to get noticed? Listen to me, with my conspiracy theories!!
I adore all things Wade! "Controversial" or not, his ideas are always so unique. Look at our other stories this episode...mechanic/hot girl, first dance at a wedding...not entirely outside of the box or original. And yes, Brandon and Jeanette,*sigh*, would have been amazing!
I can't say that I am sorry to see Bianca go. I haven't liked her since seasons ago when she had her crappy attitude about being cut. As for Phillip, he needed to go, but I do feel for him. Cat is the hostess with the mostest, you are right about that one. Can you see Ryan Seacrest handling that? "Oh really, your dad died...join us next week for Hillbilly Hoedown week..."
Wow, this has to be my longest post ever...sorry about that!!

My wife pointed out exactly the problem with Wittle Mowee's dancing last week during the disco. She is always verging on being out of control. If I were Nathan, I'd keep my eye on her flailing limbs because he's going to get smacked plenty before she finally goes (as soon as the votes send people home).
I won't bother commenting on the rest because I agree completely with you Pottymouth.
11 of 24 | Posted by DrJerkass | Posted on November 9, 2009 4:12 AM
Potty, you have an amazing knack for writing exactly what I'm thinking watching these shows...great minds think alike!
Here I was thinking I'd face public ridicule for admitting that Legacy is winning me over, but I see that I'm not alone. I'm really impressed with his progression. I especially liked that part where he jumped in the air and wrapped himself around Kathryn's waist...incredible. There's no way he could've done that a few months ago.
I thought it was funny that Bollywood routines are a "double-edged" sword because Joshua and Katee danced it two years ago. I guess Mary's already forgotten about the final 4 girls dancing Bollywood, as well as Jason and Caitlin (twice), but I'll give her a pass, since season 5 was SOOO long ago.
Hard to argue the bottom 4. Could Channing have been there? Sure, but there I haven't been impressed with Bianca, and she's got a decent partner in Victor. I think Phillip was holding Channing back.
Karen/Kevin were good, as was Jacob/Assleigh. Kudos to Ryan/Ellenore.
Lastly, thank the stars that Nigel was able to talk to the "real" puppetmasters that make that show go, and was able to appeal to their good nature to let Billy back on. Oh, and what's his name, too.
Adam cracked me up with that fall. I rewound it at least a dozen times. I'm glad he's on this show every week.
Lastly, did anyone else find it odd that Mary told Ryan she was surprised that he could do the Argentinian Tango so well, even he was a "latin" dancer, which she made sound like they were miles apart, yet she expected Russell, a Krump dancer, to nail hip-hop because "that was his style"? I thought they were two different forms of dance, but Mary seemed to lump them together as if they were the same.
Hope Mowee goes soon.
-Louie

I agree with just about everything everyone's said, so I'll keep this short. There are just a few things I need to say.
I . . . hate . . . Tyce D'Orio . . . so much. I hate his personality; I hate his choreography; I hate the way he speaks when he thinks he's saying something profound. Picking his name out of the hat is the human version of the quick step: pack your bags, you're probably going home.
I'm also having inner turmoil at my growing like for Legacy. I even thought that cricket noise he makes is funny.
What the fuck was with that tennis hip-hop number? So stupid.
And lastly, Ellenore is phenomenal! She's so graceful and she fills the space between her moves so beautifully. I could watch her dance all day. I want her to partner with Jakob.
Potty, thanks again for a great recap!

Why would Ryan be jealous over a gay guy kissing his wife during a performance?
Victor and Bianca were sabotaged. Sir Bitchypants needs to go. So does the costumer who believes it’s appropriate to wear a see-through skirt to church. Part of Bianca’s solo problems stem from the bizarre choice of tap shoes, and the poor selection of jackets with shoulder pads.
And what’s the deal with EVERY SINGLE CONTEMPORARY FEMALE DANCERS choreographing their solos to include the emotional reach, the own-body feel-up, and the lifting up of their dance dress. I don’t think solo foreplay counts as dance.
I continue to love Adam as a judge. Not only does he give intelligent advice, but I love that he gives specific examples and references for the dancers to study. Plus Adam is flat-out adorable. But why criticize Meredith and Tony and NOT criticize that crap Sir Bitchypants served up?
I’m glad they finally admitted the show’s version of Bollywood is really Bollywood Light, with influlences from other genres. Finally. A glimmer of honesty.
The “Try smizing” photo of Kevin made him look strangely feminine.
gerritv said it, and I agree: How come every time they mention Peter’s family, they show that same shot of them eating spaghetti? And I’m glad you mentioned Brandon and Jeanette regarding the Wade Robson number…because, frankly, I thought this was too much the same number. I adore him, but I think Wade got a little lazy here, and just gave us a retread with a different “concept.”
I also appreciated Phillip not trying to exploit the death of his father…and I admire him for holding it together. My dad died a year and a half ago, and I still fall apart every week or so.
I’m glad Victor stayed…he’s one of the best dancers on the stage.

Oh boy! As soon as I saw the show I knew we were all going to have to eat (some) of our words about Legacy. He was amazing and made me tear up a bit.
Channing and Phillip were obviously partnered beacause of their heights. I still think she is WAY to clunky and never graceful or ladylike, so it will be interesting to see if partnering with Victor helps her or not.
I was mad when Nigel told Peter to get his shoulders down. IMO he had them up for the dance as a part of his impish character. Did anyone else think that?
I also would like to know about the dancers that went to Greasy's dad's funeral. Wouldn't it be awkward if some went and others didn't?
Also, seems like the Twitch shoulder grab gesture is out and making a heart with your index fingers is the new sign of support! (does that make any sense?)
Last thing- love how Nigel said one sentence about Phillip being cut. Poor Phillip looked like he was hanging on to hear what else Nigel had to say...then realized he was getting nada. LOL

Bratty – you aren’t the only one who scribbles notes – as a result sit back for my epic comment:
Once again they pull Ashleigh’s hair off her face so that we are all forced to see it in all its horror. And to know she sweats buckets isn’t really doing anything to help her become more appealing. As for Ryan being jealous of her kiss – he was probably relieved to be free of her for the time being. Now if the shoe had been on the other foot and he had to kiss Ellenore I’d be investing in some Kevlar for her.
I am not a real big fan of chinstrap facial hair – but if you are going to have it commit to it like that Christopher dude on Project Runway – Tyce’s is patchy and weak. A poor man’s chinstrap if you will.
Oh and Potty, I have to say I love your use of the strikethrough feature. :)
But, I have to disagree with you on the Bollywood (I refuse to call it the Mollywood) routine. I actually really enjoyed it – and I am not a fan of Molly but I thought she pulled it off. Nathan really is something. Such a powerful dancer for such a youngin. And he really is adorable. Though it makes me feel a little pedopheliac to notice that.
Next to Ashleigh's face the thing that annoys me the most from Season 6 is Kevin’s Hair – UGH! Plus he has Velociraptor teeth. Adam Schenkman had me rolling on the floor when he fell off the chair for Karen. I love that she is so sexy she can make Adam feel straight yet she has no effect on Kevin at all.
LOVED the fear piece – even if it DID sample Mia’s addiction piece. I think Legacy is growing on me too (glad I’m not the only one)
The one problem with the filler is that it can make you look at someone you really like on the dance floor and think WTF about their personality – case in point Ellenore.
Why does Nigel insist on letting people know if the decisions were unanimous or not? I think it leads to people feeling more hurt then they otherwise would.
Glad this week the show is back in our hands (to some degree) the judges still have some say - and that can be concerning since they clearly have favorites who may or may not deserve to be there *cough* Ashleigh.

Great recap as always Pottymouth!!!
Just like everyone else Legacy is actually growing on me. I was prepared to dislike him but he's actually doing a good job and he isn't as annoying as I thought! lol
Lizbot, I too noticed that judges have cut 4 minorities but I'm sure and that the judges don't see it in that way at all but it is still is something to think about.
Blazergirl, your not the only who misses season 4. Season 4 just had that special something. I mean you had people like Joshua, Katee, Twitch, Mark and etc. You just felt something with all the people. This season has gotten to a slow start which I blame somewhat on the choreographers I think they need to challenge themselves or bring in some new choreographers. There are some good dancers but I don't think the routines are showing what they can really do.

1. yes i did see channings head bounce off the floor, is it wrong that it made me laugh?
2. i didnt even SEE the tango, all i could see was the heel. when it popped out the audience actually applauded. but they could have been doing the time warp for all i know.
3. i loooove stacey tookey. i notice she wasnt introed as a coreographer from the canadian sytycd. i hope that means maybe she will be a regular, they do need to replace mia. and cmon when legacy threw himself around her waist, that was crazy!

tv freak: Hee! Great minds think alike, I guess! ;)
pixiegal262: Greasy Marionette? LMFAO! Yeah, I think he earned major points from a lot of people for not trying to milk his dad’s death for sympathy. I’m sort of surprised the show let him get away with that.
zerocool: Oh my god, if that’s true? HAHAHAHA! I’ll be smiling all day just thinking about that one.
bambinoitaliano: It sure seems like he has some issues with them. As far as judges criticizing the choreographers – it doesn’t usually happen, but Mary (Mia too? Can’t remember) had a lot of crap to say about Brian Friedman’s work last year.
blazergirl: Oh! Yes! I didn’t even think of them, but they probably could have made that number watchable! I love Adam’s gay crush on Karen too – so cute!
chibby: I’m really curious to see if Victor handles Channing any better than Phillip did. She doesn’t seem like she does much to help he lifts, and that can be a killer. I guess we’ll see tonight!
gerritv: I know! It’s like they think all Italians ever do is sit and eat spaghetti! I mean, what about showing us footage of his family whacking someone, or shaking them down for protection??
ohhhyeah: I completely agree about Kathryn and Legacy’s dance, and I didn’t even notice her fall! I’ll have to go back and look again. I hear what you’re saying about Nathan – I love him and I’m glad he’s in the competition, but he might have benefited from another year to grow before coming on the show – I guess time will tell.
Lizbot: I actually did notice that everyone booted so far has been a minority, but I’m hoping that it’s a coincidence. We’re watching you, Nigel!
brattygrl: I am with you on that waltz – I should have really enjoyed it, but looking at her makes me want to puke. Unfortunately, I think she’s going to be around for a long LONG time. BARF.
DrJerkass: Yes! She always looks like she’s ready to fall or stumble! I can’t believe the judges don’t call her out on that.
LuckyLouie: Too true! ;) I did think it strange that Mary said the Argentine tango wasn’t Ryan’s style, but didn’t make the same distinction for Russell. Maybe the botox seeped into her brain.
JohnnyLegs: Yes, yes, yes! Sir BitchyPants needs to GO!! I like Ellenore’s dancing, but her personality grates on me a little bit. I’m hoping she can dial it back a little.
zerocool: Hee!! I wonder how much maintenance that requires.
cattyfan: The contemporary solos are getting so boring. Maybe it’s because we’ve seen so many of them over the past seasons, or maybe it’s because there isn’t a lot of originality being used, but I am sick to death of the same things you are. If I want to watch someone masturbate I’ll rent a porno.
shelley: I thought Nigel was so rude to Phillip – he usually has at least something to say about each dancer, but he made the elimination more about himself. Dick.
Tink: I’ve always thought it’s pointless to tell the dancers whether or not the decision was unanimous; it makes no difference as to whether or not they’re leaving. I think you’re right, it probably makes for a lot of hurt feelings.
bigjr6633: Yeah, season four had a lot of talent. I’m still waiting for someone to really grab my attention this season. But to be fair, I think I felt this way at this point last season too.
rainbodragon: I really hope they keep Stacey around as well. I like her choreography, and she doesn’t have Mia’s attitude!
I’m so glad I’m not alone in my growing like of Kathryn and Legacy. It’s so crazy to me that they are becoming one of my favorite couples of the season! Thanks so much for all your great comments – you guys are awesome!

I finally figured out what I don't like about the tap solos we've seen. The tappers are just trying to make as much noise as possible, with little or no regard of the actual BEAT OF THE MUSIC. It's so much more impressive when a tapper can reflect the rhythm of the music trhey're tapping to...instead of just trying to be flashy.
Count...two...three...four...

Having just read a few other recaps on this site - I have to commend you again PM... I love that your love for this show is so evident. I love that you know so much about dance and can really write from a place of knowledge.
I love that you don't spend the whole time insulting the fans of the show or the people who comment on your writing. And thank you for always providing feedback to our feedback!
Keep up the great work!

I am not sure if anyone else follows the other SYTYCD series. I have enjoyed both the Austrailian and Canadian versions. Actually Jason Gilkison is from the Austrailian, but i digress. This past Canadian version had an excellent tapper that made it top 4 I think. It lets me down a bit to see some of the tappers they have on the US version compared to how good he was.
23 of 24 | Posted by nick7894 | Posted on November 11, 2009 12:09 PM
I was surprised to see Assleigh and her husband Ryan make the top 20. I did not feel their Latin dancing was as strong as some of the past SYTYCD dancers like Snow, Heidi, Pasha and Dmitri. Ryan thinks he is such a hot dude. Anybody who marries Assleigh is NOT HOT.
They seem like very nice people who try too hard to tell everybody how VERY MARRIED they are. Maybe they do this to warn any gay fellas and man-eating girls that it's "hands off" with Ryan. After all, Ryan thinks he's soooo sexy, so everybody HAS to be drooling over him. (Although the only who agrees with this assessment is Assleigh.)
What counts against Assleigh is that she that she has a horsey-looking face, (think Mr. Ed wearing Pepto-Bismol Pink Lipstick) coupled with an artificial personality that people find grating. To me, she desperately wants to be The Star with Ryan in the background, but like the good Mormon wife she is, she will stand behind her man and be his cheerleader. Ryan is convinced of his own hotness, although anybody who has to try so hard to convey this must not be getting enough. Perhaps all his weight training, muscle-flexing, tearing off the shirts, etc. is preparation to audition as a Chippendales dancer once he gets booted off SYTYCD.
