Tonight two more dancers are cut from the competition, Nigel decides to lecture US on the definition of America's Favorite Dancer, and we visit the best museum ever!

Doncha just love culture?
This! Is So You Think You Can Dance (dance........dance)!
Remember when your best friend told you not to worry, you can shorten that hideous pink bridesmaid dress, add on a raggedy little sequin tie and have yourself a brand new look?

She LIED.
The group number this week is performed to "Aha!" by Imogen Heap and choreographed by Wade and Amanda Robson. WOO HOO!! You all know how much I love me some Wade!

Loved it!
Cat reminds us that we voted (well, you did) and now the bottom three couples will have to dance for their lives hoping to change the decision the judges already made this morning about who will be going home.
Cat asks Nigel if he enjoyed the routines last night. He did, he thinks the show is back on track. He thinks after some tough love last week that the dancers have realized that they have to go for it, they're in a competition.
He says we always talk about America's FAVORITE dancer, saying it's the favorite, not the best. But Nigel would like to remind everyone that the operative word there is DANCER. We're not just voting for America's FAVORITE, we should be voting for America's Favorite DANCER. So he thinks everyone has now realized that this is a dancing competition.

Damn! I thought it was a swimming competition! No wonder Phelps didn't show up!
Cat wonders if Mary has any words of advice for the bottom three couples.

Try not to suck
She tells them to not get overwhelmed and to try and remember that they are there for a reason; the judges thought they were extraordinary in their own style. Take a deep breath and don't be too desperate. Whoever leaves tonight will leave celebrated dancers. Sure, their departure will be celebrated by the people NOT going home.
Cat goes over to Adam telling him that next week the couples each perform two dances. Yay! That means less filler! He says that is going to test their stamina. Their brains will be more full, they're already tired from doing the shows they've already done, so they are really going to have to buckle down. This is when things start to get really really serious. Seriously.
He wants to take a second though to tell Wade and Amanda that the opening number was really fantastic. It was awesome and amazing. All he kept thinking was the he wants to spend a night in that museum.

Time to get down to business. The first couples up are Kevin and Karen, and Jakob and Asseleigh. What a nail biter this one is going to be.

Why is Asseleigh wearing the same exact outfit she wore for last week's eliminations?
Last night Asseleigh and Jakob had hip hop. Asseleigh actually was given dance steps to do. And, she did them! It will come as a surprise to no one that they are safe. What did surprise me was that Cat didn't make them wait until after she had gone through the Kevin/Karen spiel before telling them they're safe.
Karen and Kevin had a non Sir BitchyPants Broadway number. They sucked. They're in the bottom. DUH.

Cat asks Adam if he's shocked by this. Nope. He says he doubts they're even surprised after last night's complete and utter suckage. Well, maybe he doesn't say that whole thing, but you know that's what he meant. He says they are two of the most poised and elegant dancers we've ever had on the show. Has he been smoking crack tonight? Kevin is poised and elegant? In what alterverse?
Time for a quick break!

Did they not learn their lesson from Extreme Measures?!?!?

My kid has already told me TEN times that he wants this movie. Kill me now.
We're back, and it's not time for Victor and Channing, Russell and Noelle, and Ryan and Ellenore to discover their fate.

We're starting with Ellenore and Ryan. Since there are two other couples still to go after them, I think it's a pretty sure bet that they will be safe. And they are.
Noelle and Russell danced the fox trot and I loved them despite her frumptastic dress. Victor and Channing danced a Sir BitchyPants jazz number and I hated the song with every fiber of my being. Cat makes some joke about the pecking order, which earns her an "OY!" from Adam, before telling Victor and Channing that they are in the bottom three. I blame the song. And Sir BitchyPants of course.

I actually really liked Nathan's solo, but I'm with you in that I hated Molly's. Dancing and acro are 2 totally different things, NIGEL.
Not sad to see Kevin go, and I think Karen is next. We'll see how she does with her new partner.
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED Wade's piece at the top of the show. I think it's my favorite number of the season so far.
Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Nathan and Mollee will have to make the top 10 because they will draw the tweens for the tour. I'm with you--I'm over Mollee and really didn't get Karen's solo at all. Cannot wait for Ashleigh and Ryan to go!

I was really surprised they kept Karen over Channing, but knowing Nigel it makes sense. In either case it was a meh moment for me when both Kevin and Channing left.
Cat looked horrendous. Totally washed out and sickly. The dress was atrocious and her make-up/hair didn't do her any favors.

Sooo...Nigel makes a big deal of scolding America for votes, and reminding viewers it's all about DANCING...then gives Channing the boot , even though her technique is better than Karen's. Way to lead by example, Old Man.
Nathan had as many turns as Victor did...but of course, wasn't called out for it. And I hated Mowee's solo. Looked like a gymnastics floor routine.
I've begun taping SYTYCD so I don't have to sit throught the intros, inane banter, and lame musical guests. Time spent watching is shorter, and I'm far less irritated.
Happy Thanksgiving, PM. And thanks for your hard work on these recaps :)

It was Kevin's time to go. In fact, it was past his time. Karen should have gone with him. She absolutely a one note. If she isn't doing sex kitten, she sucks. Channing is really gifted and I loved watching her dance. Oh well, what are you going to do, right? Every season there are always one or two who are way below the par of the other dancers and yet the judges rave about them.
I was reminded of this today when I watched the best 15 dances special that they did leading up to this season. That guy from season one who looked like a 14 year old? It used to piss me off how they would coddle him when he clearly couldn't dance!
Anyway, thanks for another great recap.

Meh on the departures - although I would have kept Channing over Karen. Then again, unless she becomes ridiculously great with her new partner, I expect this week will spell the end for for Karen.
Anyone notice that Nigel started commenting first on this week's competition show. I think he did that because he wanted a more positive spin on all the routines instead of leading off with legitimate criticism from Adam.

Personally, I would have liked to see Mowee (love that nickname for her, that's now what I hear when they call her name) go instead of Channing or Karen. Karen's solo was not good, but overall I much prefer her over Mowee.
I also prefer dance guests over lame musical acts. I didn't really know who Orianthi was either, but I too was impressed that she didn't lip synch. What really impressed me though, was that she could actually play that guitar. A musical act who can actually, you know, *play* an instrument on one of these shows! Who knew?
I love Cat Deely, but she really needs a fashion intervention. That dress was beyond horrible. She looked SO good Tuesday night. Even though her dress looked like it made of aluminum foil at least the style was flattering and her hair and makeup was great.

I love your recaps, PM, and it's nice to share my opinions and to read how other people agree that Nigel and Mary are crazy. But my real purpose on this site has always been to find a beautiful older woman who's looking for a younger gentleman. Thankfully, icemayer came my way with his cougar site! Now I'm chin deep in cougars every day of the week!
You can see insanely graphic pictures of my experiences with said cougars - and closeups of my genitalia - at meandmycougars.com. Don't miss it!
Icemayer, enough with the stupid schills for your stupid site!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

JohnnyLegs: BWAHAHAH!! Loved the message. Have fun with those cougars!!
Sartorially, (is that a word?) Cat can do no wrong but that dress on Weds was FUG. Love the shoes though!!!
Thanks PM! Happy Thanksgiving!

here4beer: I love Wade so much. There are very few times (little foxes, jocks and cheerleaders) that I haven’t liked his pieces. At the very least, they are always extremely interesting!
w8forme: I’m really hoping we can lose Mowee before the top ten, but I fear you’re right. My guess is Karen is gong next. Though Noelle might be on their cut list too.
zerocool: I totally agree about Cat. I always think she either looks fabulous or atrocious, there doesn’t really seem to be a middle ground with her. Don’t you think?
cattyfan: I know, right?!?! I wish I could ff through all the inane bullshit! Ah well, one of us has to take one for the team! :)
Snootchy Bootches: Yeah, I was real glad they got rid of Kevin. It was painfully obvious he was out of his league. Nigel kept Karen because he is a big ole dirty perv. I agree that there always seem to be one or two that the judges love that just leave me scratching my head.
gerritv: I can never make sense of why they sometimes start with Nigel and sometimes Adam. But maybe that’s why.
wcsdancer: I would have loved it if Mowee had gone, but after what Nigel said to her and Nathan I knew there was no way. So annoying. I know! A musical guest not faking it! How rare.
JohnnyLegs: Ooooo, Johnny! I can’t wait to check out those pix! If I had known you were looking for a hot older woman, I would have given you my mom’s number! Ah well, I guess she’ll have to stick with my dad. :P
Yanksfan24: You loved her shoes?!? I don’t get it. But then again, I’m not really a shoe girl, so maybe I just don’t understand.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I’m really hoping to be as close as possible to my normal schedule, but there is a lotta stuff going on this weekend. I PROMISE not to keep you waiting too long!
Gobble Gobble!

I couldn't believe how Nigel thought Mowee's routine was so innovative when it was mostly gymnastics. She has made numerous mistakes in her dances; unfortunately they are keeping her around because of the Tween demographic and the fact she was in HS Musical 1,2,3. I would have selected Channing over Karen because Karen is a one-note dancer: sexy & smoldering, and that's about it. I almost expect drool to come out of her mouth every time she dances. Nigel was thinking with his pants when they kept her on.
Whoever picks out Cat Deeley's dresses must really HATE her. She has worn some of the BUTT-UGLIEST dresses I've ever seen. That pink one looked like it came from a thrift shop. And adding on a silver sequinned bow tie? Utterly TACKY and it didn't look like it even went with the dress. That grayish snakeskin dress was hideous accompanied by the awful hairstyle. Maybe they spend so much money on the dancer's costumes and Nigel's teeth whitening, that they have to shop for Cat at the Goodwill or Kmart. Poor Cat--

My least favorite outfit was the red one she wore a few episodes ago. Ugly dress and her makeup was so garish! She looked like a 50-something desperate woman trying to look 30-something at one of those "dime a dance" places back in the 40s.

Hi Gasmi. I just wanted to let you all know that you won't be seeing my recaps for the top 12 this week. I will give you a full update later this week on the top ten recaps. I apologize for this issue and hope you understand.
Thanks!
