Tribal Council! Probst lets Alexis talk for the first time this season, and she immediately puts her foot in her mouth by talking about Eliza in past tense, like she's already been voted out. Eliza (rightfully) gets all huffy over it, which begins the Eliza Witch Hunt that culminates with Parvati looking like a complete hypocrite as she tells Eliza that she's untrustworthy and will do whatever it takes to win. Down with Parvati! Probst is all "Welcome to Tribal Council, Eliza. No free rides!" What the hell, Probst? That comment does not make sense, and you give the people you like (such as, I don't know, James, Ozzy and Parvati herself) free rides all the damn time. Come to think of it, Probst kind of looks like the fake immunity idol himself. He does have a face, after all.
Time to vote! Parvati votes for Eliza, saying something not worth typing that doesn't make any sense and is way too condescending for a Foxy Boxer. Eliza votes for Ozzy, telling us that she hopes for a miracle with the fake stick. Before Probst reads the votes, Eliza gets up to present the fake immunity idol to him. Ozzy immediately loses his shit, even though he is about to regret this entire fiasco momentarily. Probst tells the group that the immunity idol is not real and throws it into the fire. Eliza, in a totally awesome move, announces to the entire group that Ozzy has the hidden immunity idol, because he left that one in the correct spot for Jason to find. Ozzy is really, really uncomfortable, because he has just realized that the net effect of his super clever plan is that now everyone knows that he is in possession of the real idol. "Who is going to get fooled by Ozzy?" he asked us while referring to himself in the third person last week. The answer, in case you're curious? Is Ozzy.
Oh snap.
So James cracks up laughing at this point, which is either the most assholish thing he's ever done or the coolest. He's a giant asshole if he's laughing at Eliza, because: this is still not dumber than getting voted out while in possession of two immunity idols. If he's laughing at the whole situation and Ozzy getting outed, than it's actually sort of awesome. I pass no judgment, I just thought it should be noted.
And thus the votes are read, and Eliza is voted out. Bye, Eliza! Seriously, she did really well, totally rocking the challenges, managing to save her own ass over and over again, playing smart all the way until the end. If not for the chance injury to Jonathan, she'd probably be in much, much better shape than she ended up in. Good game, Eliza. Good game.
So, now there are nine people left, and at this point I want exactly zero of them to win. The endgame is not looking to good right about now, considering that Parvati and Ozzy have the best chance of winning.

I also liked Eliza and was sorry to see her go. The exchange between her and Jason over the fake immunity idol was awesome and I don't think she was dumb to play it at all. I'm sure she knew it wasn't real, but knew it would flush out the fact Ozzy had the idol if she did play it.
As long as she stops mooning over Ozzy and gets her head back in the game, I would be ok with Amanda winning. And even though I don't like her as a person and she sucks in challenges, Cirie has made some strategic moves and power plays subtly over the course of the game.

I actually really like Erik. I find him adorable in a naive, little puppy kind of way.
I hate Parvati. So much. Actually, I pretty much hate all of them except Erik. I don't mind Cirie or Amanda either.
I serious ROFL'd for about 5 minutes when Jason said, so earnestly, "But...it has a face!" Seriously dude. It looks like it was whittled by a 5 year old.
I don't really know who I want to win this season. I find James amusing, but I don't want him to win. Natalie and Alexis are totally forgettable, Jason's an idiot, Parvati's just horrible, Ozzy is annoying, Amanda is playing a stupid game, Erik is just Ozzy's little lapdog and Cirie. Well, I think I want her to win, out of all of them. At least she has brains. Sort of.

I try not to be critical because I'm sure there's plenty of time spent putting together these recaps but why do the Survivor recaps take so long? Most of the other shows are posted within 2-3 days of being aired but the Survivor ones are usually posted a few hours before the next episode. Not to mention the recap from the March Madness 2 week layoff was still posted the day of the next new episode and this one was put up the day after a new one was aired.
Besides this, I love the recaps.
At least Ozzie is gone. Nice blindside! I loved his bitching afterward.

I am with you there "anonymous". Big Brother is on 3 nights a week and is usually posted that same night, if not the next day. I mean, this was posted after this week's episode even. I know I don't post things, but it just seems so late compared to other shows...

I gotta go with the two above me. I know someone will say that we should appreciate the recappers for doing what they do since they don't get paid and whatnot...but if you can't post a recap in a timely fashion- then don't volunteer to be a recapper.
A lot of times I don't get to watch the actual shows and the recaps are what I go by. I didn't even know ozzy was booted until I went to another site.

Schoonie, your recaps are always worth the wait, but I'm REALLY looking forward to your recap of last week's show. One of the best "Survivors" ever.

I'm not entirely sure what Eliza has done that's made her so smart or awesome. She formed poor aliances that didn't pan out. She performed well at challenges and didn't do enough to toot her own horn.
When the tribes were mixed up she didn't do anything to get in with alexis or natalie (a clear option for a new aliance). From what we saw (which is highly edited and therefore misrepresentative), she simply relied on her tribe to continue winning challenges.
If her tribe had lost a challenge, she'd have been one of the first picks to go after Kathy, who lucky for her, removed herself from the game.
I mean Jonathan is only one man.
I'm still on the Cirie bandwagon--have been all along. She's so subtle, I love it--she quietly plants seeds in people's minds and then moves along. After last week's episode, I think there's no question that Cirie is the smartest one out there (eliza included).

All I can say about Eliza is, she's studying to be a lawyer!? What kind? There's no way I'd want someone that annoying and grating representing me.
As for her "playing" the fake idol, she didn't. She knew it wasn't real, therefore, the whole idea was to 'out' Ozzy. Which is FINE WITH ME. Saint Ozzy deserved it, and deserved what he got last week, too.
So she wins points for craftiness I suppose.
