For One Night -
by J-Unit
For One Night is a typically Lifetime-ish movie, in other words, something that my mom would watch. It stars Raven Symone as a girl from Georgia who works hard to integrate her segregated prom. The remarkable part about this Lifetime Original (for some reason, I have use italics when I say that), is not that it is based on a true story, but that it is based on a true story from 2002. It may sound a little to sappy for some people, but this movie has something for everyone. The boys get to watch Aisha Tyler previously seen on Ghost Whisperer and an integration project of her own called Friends, while the ladies can tune into check out Jason Lewis, better known as Samantha's final love interest on Sex and The City. The movie premieres Monday, February 6th at 9PM (check local listings). For more information, check out the official site.
Now what you've all been waiting for. As part of the promotion for the movie, Lifetime has created a Prom Tales website where readers can share and submit prom tales of their own and read more about the movie. As that annoying girl who used to sell prom tickets at my high school used to say "Prom may be for one night, but the memories are forever!". That may be true, but I am sure you want to know how you can win the Canon Power Shot A520 digital camera, courtesy of PromTales.com.
To enter send your name, e-mail address, phone number and mailing address to promtales@tvgasm.com. Include "PromTales Giveaway" as the subject of the e-mail. Limited to one entry per person and the winner will be announced 2/6/2006 [not 2005, thanks stacyrocks]. Plus, make sure you submit your own prom tale or photo at PromTales.com. For your trouble (and yes, I will check to make sure your e-mail appears on a prom tale or photo) TVgasm will throw in a 256 MB SD card, good for over 500 pictures, for the winner of the camera and second and third place winners will get an item of their choice from the TVgasm store, but only if you submit a story or photo. Remember, submit your stories at PromTales.com, not in your e-mail.
To clarify, you do not have to enter a Prom Tale to win the camera, only to qualify for the second and third place prizes.

J-Unit,
"Limited to one entry per person and the winner will be announced 2/6/2005."
Still getting used to typing 2006 instead of 2005, huh? :)

MindyLou, lemme tell you about my little friend "the lie." I didn't attend the prom either and I've never regretted it until now. Up until this very day I was glad to have been atop Case Mountain (it's really just a hill)smoking pot and eating mushrooms. But I want that freakin' camera! So here's what we're gonna do...
We're gonna make up a story about going to the prom, add a picture, bada boom-bada bing, we're in the contest. My story is going to be a version of the always hilarious "someone else showed up in the same dress" theme. Here's my picture. http://www.slashjoke.com/pictures/ghetto-pregnant.gif

Just to clarify, you don't need a prom tale to enter the contest, just for the other prizes.

Does anyone else hate that it's called "prom"? Could it please be "THE prom"?
