TVgasm has made it a tradition of liveblogging some of the more, how do I say it, um...shitty offerings of the Tiffany Network. It started with Spring Break Shark Attack, continued with Locusts and culminated with our seminal work on Riding the Bus With My Sister. We promised to cover the recent Martha Stewart made-for-TV classic, but a weekend of football in Whale's Vagina (and an intern who forgot to set the Tivo) made us miss that opportunity.
If you have been waiting for the next straight-to-broadcast work of the minions of Viacom, your time has come. This weekend, CBS brings us Vampire Bats. I'm not sure why CBS isn't promoting this show on their website, because when we heard Lucy Lawless had signed on for another nature-destroys-mankind epic, we couldn't resist. Is it the makings of another instant classic for Les and his lackeys? See for yourself:
Click on Lucy and prepare to be amazed.
If that doesn't make you want to tune in, I don't know what will. And a week later, CBS gives us Category 7: The End of the World because last year's Category 6 was just a mere day of destruction. I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.

Holy buckets! I know some of us were wondering what happened to you this weekend, J-Unit. Never in a million years did I imagine it was football in a whales vagina. Blessedly you didn't post a movie of that!

Can't wait!

Oh boy,Vampire Bats......I think a live blog is needed for those of us actually planning to watch the movie.Although I have a feeling the blog will far surpass the movie in quality writing......

I will only watch this if one of the bat victims runs away holding a cocktail.

The only promos that I've seen have been on the Late Late Show, where Craig Ferguson has had an ad made up that shows his cameo in this flick. He talked about it a lot before and when he got the part. So, plenty of buzz at 12:35...

I swear this is an old TV movie, from like years and years ago. Maybe thats why they are not promoting it.

OMG when I saw the ad for this, I totally thought of TVgasm. By the way , that ad was during C.S.I.

Thank you, CBS, for keeping the cheesy made for tv movie tradition alive. NBC only wishes it had quality programming like Spring Break Shark Attack and Vampire Bats to work with!

As soon as I saw the commericial I knew it was a job for TVGasm. Am eagerly awaiting the broadcast and your recapping even more so. My emotions will be all-a-twirl Sunday night! First, the inevitably sad Cold Case (great show, bring the Kleenex), then delicious giggles while watching this.
God bless Lucy, too, for pairing up with Les for these epic woman-battles- flying-bad-things movies. What a wonderful Halloween treat :) I'll record it for my five-year-old. He saw the commericial and is VERY excited. He loves bats and scary movies and is very easy to please in regards to that genre, so quality doesn't matter. Hubby loves a good "B" movie - he got me hooked. We all loved "Locusts" and "Spring Break Shark Attack" for what they were!

Even better...Vampire Bats is the sequel to Locusts... Next season, the, "Les Tackles Biblical Plagues Package" will wrap up with killer sooty mangabees. Lucy Lawless will no doubt star.
