I know that I have been telling people that The 4400 is one of the best shows on television, but with my spotty-at-best attention to the recaps, it is sometimes hard to tell just how much I like this show. But take it from the people who wait for my Smallville recaps during the regular season - you always hurt the ones you love. This second season has focused the majority of its time on exploring the reasons why the 4400 were sent to earth. Truth be told, we really didn't get a lot of new information regarding that little question, but a whole lot of people spent time trying to figure it out anyway. There are a lot of things to learn for both the people who came back and the inhabitants of the world they are supposed to save, and lately, we've been left wondering if they'll destroy each other before anybody has a chance to do any good.
I wrote last time that Lily let Brian take Isabelle with him, and wondered how that could be a good idea. Well, it turns out that Lily left as well, which sort of makes sense since they are trying to keep things a secret. If Brian had just showed up with a baby at his house, things would have seemed slightly suspicious, no? Lily actually left with Isabelle, and Brian put them up in a vacation house. Like any father, Richard is quite upset that his baby was taken from him, even though he knows his wife was only trying to protect her. And to be honest, no mother wants to sit and wait in a safe house until somebody comes and knocks down the door. And even if her resolution to the problem is essentially sitting in a safe house and waiting for somebody to knock down the door, at least she can pretend it is more safe.
Although Lily wants to stay as far away as possible, it looks like she might not have a choice. She suddenly notices that she has that 4400 rash on her arm, and taking a look in the mirror, she notices it has spread all over her body. She quickly calls 911 to get an ambulance, but when she looks in the mirror again, the disease isn't there anymore. What could have happened? We take one look over at Isabelle, giggling to herself, knowing that she is driving her mommy crazy. On the other hand, it may just be some she has some gas. I tell you what, if she is going to save the world, she better find a way to grow up fast, because there is just no way you can be an effective leader when you can't wipe your own ass.
NTAC has been busy rounding up the remaining 4400 that haven't reported back to quarantine. Even though Diana and Tom know that it was the government that made the 4400 sick, they still don't quite know what they are going to do with the information. As Diana said, it would have been very hard for Dr. Hudson and three of his medical staff to conspire to create this promycin inhibitor that makes the 4400 sick and proceed to inject it into every 4400 known to man. That type of stuff needs approvals, and it's very likely that many of the people that Diana and Tom used to trust at NTAC are part of the conspiracy.
Whatever Diana and Tom are going to do, they are going to have to make it quick. 4400s are beginning to die from the disease. When they hear this information, they immediately begin to think about their loved ones. When they go to visit them in quarantine, it is not looking good for either. Maia isn't awake, and Alana's condition has deteriorated so far that she no longer recognizes Tom. Drastic times call for drastic measures, and so Diana enters Dr. Hudson's office and puts a gun to his head. I've always said you get more done with a direct approach, don't you agree?

I was really glad to see Isabelle grow up. I think she'll make a great character because you won't know if she's good or evil. Now Lily can stop obsessing over the "baby" and obsess over her horrible haircut.

Is it my imagination or was Collier at the place where the 4400 first landed? And does anyone think that the person who came out of Kyle is now in Collier?

Oooooohhh..good thought. I noticed he was at the lake, too. Where the heck has he been all this time?

The twists at the end were great. Now that Isabelle is grown, I hope that we'll see a lot less Lily. Good from an annoyance perspective, bad from a hottie perspective ... although Big Izzy might make up for that.
Was that definitely Collier at the end? He was so raggedy, and the scene was so quick, that I couldn't tell for sure. Interesting thought by shouldbeworking, though.
So, did the professor basically just invent 4400 juice ... so anyone Joe Schmo who takes it can get superpowers? And if the government scientists were using the cured 4400s to make more so that they could cure more ... does that mean that the feds now have 4400 juice too? Or am I looking too deep instead of just trying to enjoy the show?
I like that Marko got some action ... the geeky guy never gets any lovin'...

It was definitely Jordan Collier. If you click the link in the paragraph before Isabelle's all grown up picture, you will see him. And yes, he returned to the same beach the 4400 returned and Kyle was changed. I realized that when I took the screen cap, but forgot to change it in my recap.

Collier definitely emerged at the site where all the 4400s returned. The thing that came out of Kyle was another ball of light. I take it, with Collier's return, that the future people needed Collier to be killed for a number of strategic reasons:
1) Collier's hair indicates he has been away for some time - somewhere. So, I'm guessing the future people needed to do more with him.
2) Clearly, Shawn was destined to take over the Movement, which is part of why Collier was removed.
3) Isabelle's role is huge and closely linked to Shawn's role as the head of the 4400 Movement. (We can feel better about speculating that she is a future person sent to be born into this timeline.)
Here's my big question. If Birkhoff is the father of the 4400 technology, what in the original timeline cured him of his madness? They sent that crazy girl to infect the asylum and build a machine that cured him (early, it seems), but what originally led him to discover promycin and use it to unlock the "dead zone" of people's brains?

I have another thought to share with you, what if "the ball" extracted from Kyle wasn't the alien but in fact "the real Kyle" and he now is all alien???

Isabelle, powerful she is, very strong she has become. Key to the struggel her destiny is.
At the tail end of season two, wathing the 4400 I began. Very Very intriguing it is, one of my favorite shows it has become.
From child to adult in a single episode, a concept not seen since V the TV series. Wait I can't for seasom three.
