In the Hot Seat Graham watches a montage of DeAnna draping herself all over him and then finally getting fed up with his indifference and shamelessly begging him to care in the embarrassing farewell tantrum. Chris asks Graham what went wrong with HIS special relationship and Graham says that he gave SO much and opened up SO much more than anyone will ever realize, but it was just never enough for DeAnna. Oh, I HATE this little song and dance. This is the guy who is completely closed off and clearly scared to death of having any kind of meaningful relationship and so when the girl asks him for the bare minimum - aka, acting like a boyfriend, he freaks out and says it's never enough. Okay, yes, clearly this rant stems from more than just Graham, but I've seen his type. SO unwilling to give more than just that tiny inch, but when called on the carpet, it's the girl's fault for wanting too much, when all she really wants is reciprocation. Graham insists that he made a lot of effort, but I think we can all agree that that's not what we saw. Chris calls him out for refusing to kiss DeAnna at the racetrack, but who cares? The bottom line is that he never really liked her - or was way too chicken to put himself in harm's way. But he insists that letting DeAnna come to his parents' home and meeting his family makes him a total martyr. No one realizes how much that took for him to do. Oh this is such garbage. Chris actually does a pretty good job of trying to pin Graham down and make him point out a reason for not wanting to take the next step with DeAnna and he finally says that he was afraid of going that fast. At last, a legitimate answer. Uh, this entire set up is ridiculous and I didn't want to propose to some pretty girl I just met but hardly know? Of course Graham doesn't go that far because I don't think that's actually what he thinks. He was really just scared of going that fast. And anything above a complete snail's pace would be too fast for Graham. But not wanting to go that fast is totally different than "it was never enough" for DeAnna. I'm never going to take DeAnna's side, but Graham is such a little sissy. My sympathies to the next girl who tries to date him and for whom it will just "never be enough."
"I try so hard. No one appreciates the hero I am."
Jenny from the audience stands up and asks Graham what was in that famous letter he gave DeAnna on the Rejection Bench. Okay, here is Graham's earth shattering answer: "I put in that letter... um... how I felt about her and the last week of our relationship. Um... and if she read it, I think knowing me as well as she does, that it meant the world to her that I would tell her some of the things that were in that letter." Well! That clears everything up! Will someone get this brave man a medal?
And now here comes the Queen herself, to sit in the Hot Seat and be adored - or so she thinks. She starts with her famous speech about knowing just how the guys feel because she has been in their shoes, and that she's cried herself to sleep many nights over how hard this has been. Oh, I feel so sorry for her. Jeremy gets to question her first and he wants to know when she knew he wasn't the one. After all, she gave him a fantasy card and spent the night with him. DeAnna gives her standby speech number two and says that whenever she's with any of the guys, no matter who it is, she's only thinking about him. And it wasn't until she was on her dates with Jason and The Riddler that she realized she was already in love with them. Jeremy says, "Ouch." DeAnna says she's sorry and that he is so perfect on paper and she really wanted there to be something there in her heart because then her life would have been perfect (huh? This is such bogus). She wanted there to be something so badly. Jeremy says, "Well... me too." Geez.

Great recap! I loved it when Chris Harrison said mullet...business in the front, party in the back. I almost peed my pants!

You know, I'm no fan of MEanna HOWEVER (in her defense; I think I just gagged) She was on the show before, she was all over television and tabloids for pre-show publicity, the show has been on for 11 FREAKIN' seasons so the whole "it's too fast, I don't know you that well is kinda B.S. in its highest form. I would think that you would not apply to be on the show if you did not have some type of attraction to her because after all, unlike most seasons, the "prize" had no "su" in it because you already knew it was MEanna. So, if you were "just not that into her" than you are a s(%*head for coming on the show for a free vacation as long as you can get her to think that you like her. The only ones who seemed remotely interested were Jeremy and maybe Jason. If she is happy with the Riddler than I'm happy for her but he acts as if they were introduced by his publicist and they have to stay together long enough to revieve his movie career and image

The part with Chris Harrison talking about Sean's mullet was the best! This show would be so much better if they would show a little more of that kind of thing.

I got more and more fed up with Deanna as the season wore on. I have to agree with the guy who told her off (OCD comment). Her little tantrum at the BBQ said it all.
Then when I saw her on the After The Final Rose show, I gagged a bit more. Her little girl behavior with the man she chose, squeaking out "Honey!" to him, playing kissy face the whole time...UGH.
And yes, Chris Hansen's mullet/Cobra Kai Dojo commens were fabulous! A real sense of humor! I love it!

KikiC - I totally agree. The more the season went on the more I disliked Deanna. She is really annoying and it is so true! If a guy wasn't completely OCD he was gone. I was so happy Ryan gave it to her at the reunion and Graham acted like he couldn't care less. After the Rose made me gag. I fastforwarded through most of it. She was the epitome of annoying...it was like get a room!

I also liked "Is he one haircut away from stealing your heart?" or something like that. Comedy gold, Harrison!
DeAnna was awful; i don't really remember a wo/men tell all with so much animosity towards the bachelor/ette. It was pretty telling. I loved how Graham still pissed her off even though she wasn't "falling in love with him" anymore..he was still breakin' her heart!
What did she want from him when she was like "he didn't give me what i wanted...isn't that right Graham??" Ok Grandma stop talking to him like he is in the timeout seat. His continually blowing her off was great. "I'm sorry, i'm still caught up over the last rude comment you made. what did you say?"
DeAnna so thought she was going to be America's sweetheart when in fact she was just Ellen's sweetheart. If i never heard her talk about Brad on my tv again, it would be too soon.

Agreed DP Hooker. The backlash was so awful, the moderators at TWOP (the site from which I have been BANNED..YEAH ME! BASTARDS) actually posted a note asking people to please stop using the word "Bitch". When a site that pretty much makes fun of television ask people to be nice to you, you need an image over-haul STAT!

I couldn't watch all of this, but I did watch the Graham exchange, and caught the I wasn't listening comment, sorry, no matter how bad she is, he is a capital D douche!!!! HATE and if he went on the show to advance whatever career he's sellin', ah, good luck, unless it's a book called "Lesson's in Douchery: How to drive women MAD"
My jaw is still agape at the conclusion of this . . . but I shall bide my time and read your thoughts first, HoneyG!
I'm gonna bet the discusting after the rose display was intended to make Graham mad at what he missed--news flash, he didn't watch!

Love the title - The Bachelorette: The Men Hate DeAnna.

Wonder how rad and stoked the snowboarder will be after DeAnna throws a hissy fit when he ignores her for more than 5 minutes at a time?
Somewhere in Texas, Brad is laughing his ass off right now.

KikiC, I'm with you - I wasn't a fan of Ryan on the show, but I LOVED his OCDeanna comments. And even better, how annoyed Deanna was by his comments.

Glad I didn't ever watch this show! (but had no trouble following - and enjoying - your recap; thanks!)

I was bugged to no end by DeAnna on the Bachelor, so I assumed I'd hate her on the Bachelorette. I have to admit, though, I liked this season.
It sounds like I'm in the minority though.
The Men Tell All was entertaining though...there are alot of bitter men out there, that's for sure!
I hated Graham, but some of his comments toward DeAnna were quite entertaining, even though he's a total ass.
After watching this season and TMTA, I can't imagine any woman finding him attractive.
And Jeremy is a freak...sneaking into her room to give her a kiss? Showing up at her room after being kicked off?
Constantly getting emotional?
He has stalker written all over him!
Thanks for the recap, HG...looking forward to the show recap!

There was a moment in the final rose ceremony, where she says: "I finally get to say it [I love you]" or something like that...which seems to shed some light on some of what went on...I had the feeling that the producers weren't allowing her to go with her real feelings, instead insisting that she keep up several story lines at once (i.e., Graham/Jeremy/Jason/Jesse)...and of course the guys were all aware of this too, which made for one awkward season...just a feeling I have mind you.
And fayellis -- I got banned from TWOP too! Can't believe it. I didn't even say anything really nasty, but whoever's moderating that forum takes her job way tooo seriously...

Itchy - they act as if they are researching a cure for breast cancer. I thought it was just me, but they do take that crap waaaaaaaay too seriously. And since I don't want to be banned from here too..Deanna sucks! There, I talked about the show :0)

Nice recap, I needed it since I couldn't bear to watch more of DeAnna's self-involvement. Ugh.
