Recap: Every Day Should Be Lauren and Heidi Day!

My friend just sent me this email:

I AM HYPERVENTILATING AT THE END OF THE HILLS

amazing

That pretty much sums it all up. Yes, if you see one episode of The Hills, make it this one. Holy Moly was it good. It was full of all the backstabbing, bitchy, obnoxious, and awful behavior we've come to expect from L.A. girls, but even better, it was all topped off with a welcome serving of tears, confrontation, and yelling. Now this was drama.

Oh, and Spencer remains a gigantic, unrepentant douchebag.

This week's episode began with the ominous sight of Lauren and Audrina chopping veggies together. The lack of Heidi in favor of sidekick #3 surely signaled that something was rotten in the state of the Hillside Villas. As you can imagine, the two were consumed with talk of Spencer and Heidi, or Speidi, as I used to call them. Audrina wanted to know if Lauren's relationship with her former besty had improved, or was The Boy still breeding tension? Lauren explained, "The way we get along is that we just don't talk about Spencer." Soooo basically, they don't get along at all.

Audrina, suddenly a voice of reason on this show, noted that Heidi had changed since she'd welcomed Spencer into her life. It was almost as if he'd cast a spell on her, she said. A spell I like to call Curse of DON ANTONIO'S!!!

Well, Lauren did not disagree. In fact, she revealed that Heidi had only slept over at the apartment twice all month. "it kind of bums me out when she's like 'Let's plan a Lauren and Heidi day,'" Lauren said, further commenting, "I'm like, every day used to be Lauren and Heidi Day." Oooh! Snap! The withering bitterness of a friend scorned. By the way, I'm really sad to hear of the demise of Lauren and Heidi Day. Had I known that this holiday was dwindling into obsolescence, I surely would have pioneered some sort of celebration to keep it alive -- you know, like having a mandatory alfresco meal, much like those girls do every episode. Even if it were raining or freezing and if people asked why I was eating outside, I'd just roll my eyes and say, "Duh. It's Lauren and Heidi day!"

After the opening credits, we learned the title for the episode: "With friends like these...". Or, as I interpreted it, "WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE (dunh Dunh DUNH!!!!)" This could not end well (and I'm not just saying that because I saw pretty much everything that happened in last week's previews).

We then found Heidi with over-eager sidekick Jen, who had heretofore been a shared second fiddle to both Lauren and Heidi. Servicing two Masters is of course totally acceptable, but we've noticed a certain degree of unbridled ambition in Jen, and it was clear that this was the episode when she was going to make a power move. But how? BUT HOW???

Anyway, the two girls walked the streets of Beverly Hills, and as they headed into Lisa Kline, Heidi cooed, "Thank you so much for coming with me!"

"ANY TIME!" Jen gushed, so thrilled to have been hand-selected for this Kline-tastic trip. And just in case Heidi was unsure of her dedication, Jen then added, "I get to spend more time with you!" MAKE ME YOUR SIDEKICK! SHOW ME THE WORLD, DEAR MASTER!

jen022607
"I agree, Heidi! In fact, I'll agree with whatever you want me to!"

Well, as the girls browsed through the various garments in the boutique, we learned that Jen wanted to "hang out" with Brody Jenner, and not just because his last name sounded like her first name -- although, that was a plus. I can just imagine Jen doodling hearts on a pad, surrounding the words, "Mrs. Jen Jenner."

ahh b-side, thank you!
i have an early class in the morning but couldn't go to bed without this first!

J Unit [TypeKey Profile Page]:

This episode was pure genius. The epic saga of master vs. sidekick continues.

kmills [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Brody is the worst kind of guy – charming and thus eternally inculpable. He’s never going to be held accountable for any of his actions. But I cannot WAIT for the day Spencer gets his due.

Anyone else think Jen's gotten a nose job?

mo_knows [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Well, now we finally know why Jen was not cut from scenes she's been in previously where all she's ever done was suck up to Lauren & Heidi- it was all to prepare us for her big power move in this episode. I think that was so shady of her to go after Brody, being Lauren's best friend, and after reading the Details magazine and seeing the show thus far, we all know that Brody surely did not have any true interest in her, he just wanted to ensure his airtime. I mean, let's face it, Jen is not cute at all, and has the personality of a doorknob (to quote Cami). I hope she feels like an ass after seeing this episode. I felt so sorry for Lauren at the end, that is such a sucky situation, where you feel like your friends have abandoned you, especially when you supposedly live with one, but essentially live by yourself while they are always with their boyfriend. And since when is Jen Lauren's "best friend"??

K Conrad- PLEASE answer the question everyone wants to know- what happened to Lo?? Are she and Lauren not friends anymore?? What happened???

Cat Henry [TypeKey Profile Page]:

There is NO justice in the world!!! The one night that my Tivo decides to go haywire is the only show that I really look forward to all week. Good thing that MTV shows them again and again during the day.

Great recap B-side, it was worth staying up late to read.

mo_knows [TypeKey Profile Page]:

P.S. Yes I am a dork and googled Jen Bunney- here are myspace sites... real or fake, I don't know... Also she apparently made the deans list at USC

Mathematics [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Don't these retards realize that Lauren is the one with the TV show? If you are a fame whore you do not piss off the person keeping you on TV.

IJustWatch [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Foreal.. these brawds should be glad that people even know who they are BECAUSE OF LAUREN. I'm glad she manned up and confronted that stupid ass Heidi.

You know Jenn Bunney must be pretty hurt when even Brody couldn't muster up the same amount of cheese as he did with Lauren. All she got was a, "Damn you're beautiful." Nothing more, nothing less. He didn't even tell her how amazing she is!

Heidi's only staying with Spencer for the free dental work.

jj a [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG! Geisha House AND Les Deux? Where was a cameo from Mike Boogie?? Oh well.

The best part of the bathroom scheming at the 'sha was the need for every comment to be in triplicate, i.e. "He loves you, he loves you, he loves you!" Oh snap oh snap oh snap!

P.S. mo_knows, I am inclined to believe that that second link is THE real Jenn Bunney!

ilovecrappytv [TypeKey Profile Page]:

If Lauren made up with Heidi after this whole thing, I wonder how she feels now, after watching the episode and seeing how much "nothing" Heidi did to push the Jen/Brody hookup? I don't understand how Heidi could blatantly lie to Lauren knowing that it would be on national television and she would know the truth. All I know is I would be furious all over again after I saw my "best friend" pretty much force a hookup like that.

omj75 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Kmills, not only do I agree with you about a nosejob, I have my suspicions that Jen actually may have been a man at one point in her life.

rhm [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Yeah, I don't get how Heidi and her douchetastic smarmbag of a manager-slash-boyfriend can be such liars and cheaters WHILE THEY'RE BEING FILMED. It shows just an utter lack of maturity and ability to comprehend consequences. It's not like the truth will come out on film years from now, but only a matter of months. Oh well!

I was pretty impressed with Lauren this episode, particularly her ability to confront Heidi and frankness (if things continue like they are, we can't be friends). As someone who has dated an emotionally abusive, manipulative person when I was younger, I understand why Heidi isn't responding positively to Lauren. Eventually she'll realize that Lauren is right & she's being a good friend, but frankly, by then it might be too late. Spencer is using Heidi like he's using The Manwhore & he shows the classic signs of an abuser - isolating her from her friends, mind games, emotional manipulation, etc. all while lying and cheating on her left and right. Ugg.

Also? That link to the love advice from The Manwhore? Gross.

beermonster [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Call me creepy...but if you type "Jen Bunney" into facebook, there is an "event" that pops up for her birthday party at Les Deux back on Dec. 2...looks like that's when it all went down!

Lime23 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG -- I'm still stunned. I feel like I've just stared into the soul of Heidi Montag and almost been sucked into the terrifying chasm of nothingness. Gone are the days when I thought Heidi was just a daffy, likeable idiot. Remember when we all thought she would someday see the light & get over Spencer? No, no, my friends, she IS Spencer. She's a user. And the scene at Boogie's club, The Seduction of Jenn Bunney? I felt all clammy like I was watching the making of Heidi Fleiss (aka Montag) made-for-TV movie. "You have to do what's best for YOU, Jenn." in the dull, ominous, mind-control tones. "just go with him." And what did you get for YOUR soul, Jenn? 45 minutes of kissing Brody? You should have held out for $50 and a DVD player. (Heidi, it's Charlie Sheen on Line 1).

charger9 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Tantastic Jen must feel pretty stupid for throwing her friendship away with Lauren away after reading that Brody's plan was to hook up with the whole cast!

b-side you ROCK!

mo_knows [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Mathematics- I thought hte same thing, when Lauren said "If things continue this way, I don't want to live with you" I thought Heidi was going to shit her pants... how would she promote her pop album and sex tape if she no longer was in Lauren's good graces?

charger9 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Jen's myspace used to say that she was filming The Hills with her 2 best friends, heidi and lauren. Now it talks about how the media can spin things...hmmmmm must not be bff's anymore.

LagunaConsultant [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"It's my crew! It's my crew!" Sounds like somebody got the greatest birthday gift of all: the chance to belong!"

Since I'm at work I don't have time to delve into the greatest Hills/Laguna episode of all time until lunch, BUT, this line could not be ignored.

ilovecrappytv [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I looked at the facebook event for Jen's birthday party...it definitely said that "the owners of les deux decided to throw me a little birthday party". I hope Jen realizes that with no MTV cameras the owners of les deux will no longer be throwing her sorry butt any parties.

Mrs.Meow [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Last night's TV was one of the best nights in a long time (Heroes, The Hills).

I thought it was awesome how Lauren stood up to Heidi and confronted her. It's really too bad that Heidi can't see Spencer for who he really is.

I was on Lauren's website earlier (yes, I'm a dork) and she has pictures posted from her 21st birthday. Heidi was definitely there - they must have made up (somewhat). Has Lauren come around to Spencer?

cee_jay [TypeKey Profile Page]:

long-time reader, first-time poster here. i would like to suggest the combo name for heidi and spencer be "Heini". now, i know this is not the traditional combo name in the sense that it is not first part of one name paired w/the last part of the other. however, it does incorporate the letter of both names and i find that combination rather apropos. "Dumb Ass/Douchebag", while most descriptive, is a bit of a creative stretch on the available letters.

McCreamy [TypeKey Profile Page]:

This episode changed my mind- I'm Team Lauren all the way! I wasn't really seeing Heidi as the bad guy till I saw her egging Jen on, and then ditching Lauren. Just cuz its someones Bday does not give them an excuse to shit on their friends.

georgy girl [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Did anyone remember when Heidi was talking to Jen I believe about how Brody wanted to mack it with Jen and Jen didn't believe her. Heidi was like yeah I heard it from the Horses mouth. She was referring to Spencer (but not in the way that we look at him). I thought it was the most accurate, hysterical description of that square head.

kevintheomanharris [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I was unaware Mrs Conrad posted here.....maybe she can set me up with her daughter....?

anyways, last night was the best night in television ever. Heroes was mind blowing as well.

cherin [TypeKey Profile Page]:

If this season was designed to make me hate Heidi, its doing a very good job.

Maybe its just the way she's portrayed on the show, but Whitney seems like a really genuine person and a good friend to LC. I hope in real life they are really friends... maybe KConrad for confirm or deny

Also, what is the link to Lauren's website?

Diana811 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ok - first thing I have to say is that Lauren is sooooo much better than this - & these people. I felt so bad for her last night, but I know eventually she'll be the one who comes out on top. She has the beauty, the brains, & above all, she's a good person. She'll go much further in life than the "Brody Jenners" & "Heidi Montags" & "Spencer Pratts" of the world will ever go.

On to Jen - first of all she DEFINITELY had a nose job - her nose was completely different on Laguna Beach........... Second of all - WHO DOES SHE THINK SHE IS??? - She's NOT pretty - Lauren blows her away - is she that dumb to think that Brody Jenner actually wants to date her??? - How does she not realize he's just trying to create drama on the show? - That girl is deluded!

Next - Heidi. First of all, that walk has to go! She's no supermodel & I don't know who she thinks she is with that walk of hers! - I used to really like her. Now I'm begining to think she and Spencer are cut from the same cloth. She's so phony! How could she lie right to Lauren's face? What did Lauren ever do to her? - And then the look on her face when Lauren said they may not be able to live together anymore - her whole face dropped. Could it be that she's just in it to be on tv also? - Think about it... - Heidi is only where she is in life because of Lauren. Without Lauren she would not be in the position she's in now. She needs to relax - I think she's getting a little too big for her britches.

Finally - Audrina. She seems like the most down to earth decent frind that Lauren has on the show. She rebuffed Spencer's advances, took the higher road when Heidi was mad at her, & never has anything malicious to say about anyone. She's a cool girl & I think next season Lauren & Audrina should move in together & Heidi shouldn't even be on the show.

I could go on about Spencer and Brody, but it's just a waste - just like they are.

LagunaConsultant [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Could this episode have been any more painful to watch? Oh wait, yes it definitely could. I’m sure as another reader suggested; Lauren must have just had a wonderful time watching this diddy a few days ago. So depending on when Lauren actually saw the show, and what she actually believed the truth to be from this night of lies, her friendship with Heidi may be hanging in the balance as we speak. I don’t know if she could do this, but if the cameras did meander their way over Brody’s for a little after hours Conrad bashing, could Lauren go to MTV and demand to see the footage? Because despite what anyone believes or claims, I’m convinced our little friend Bunney gave up the keys to her… Ummm… bunny hole over at Brody’s palace of indiscretion. Kissed him my ass, what’s the difference between stabbing someone in the back 15 times as opposed to 16? Also, would it surprise me if Spencer was in the bedroom for some reason while this was happening, giving words of encouragement with the occasional slap on the ass? No, definitely not.

Also, is it just me, or does it seem like Spencer tries really hard to sound like Matthew McConaughey when he speaks?

I also thoroughly enjoyed the eavesdropping scene from behind the bathroom door with the Chinoiserie writing. Just think, if we only had this luxury 3 years ago we could have saved ourselves a lot of trouble and just immediately tossed Stephen into upper tier of the Socal douchebags pantheon with Spencer, Brody, Jason, and Tyler. Now that my friends is a murders row of douche.

The best part of this episode was definitely the sidekick uprising. As much as some people hate to admit it, up until this point Heidi’s been nothing more than a glorified sidekick. Granted she was the Nicole to Lauren’s Paris, but a sidekick no less. This episode was basically her coming out party. Unfortunately for her, she forgot to read the first rule of masterdom before venturing out on her own.

Rule #1 - Thou shall not betray thy former master within two moon cycles of emancipation. If said sidekick fails to adhere to this decree, they shall be sentenced to 5 tongue lashings at the former master’s discretion.

Well Heidi got her first lashing at the end of the episode, and I couldn’t have been more excited. As much as I loved “I hate him” and “He’s just a sucky person,” nothing could have prepared me for Lauren’s thoughts about Jenn hooking up with Brody.

“BITCH”

Woah baby, I love it when she talks dirty… Umm I mean… Ahh… Forget about it, I DO love it when she talks dirty. There, I said it. I expect a full compliment of F Bombs flying in Jen and Heidi’s direction next week.

Finally though, the one thing that seems to get lost in the shuffle of all of this is Lauren’s complete loss of control with her sidekicks. Do you really think that Kristen Cavallari would have lost control of Roz and Jessica while they were being taped for TV? I think not. Maybe after the fact, she would serve them their walking papers, but while being taped, they were good loyal servants. Do not forget, our hairy friend Jason tried to brainwash and lure Jessica away from Kristen’s grasp before Cavallari stomped that notion into the ground. Lauren should swallow her pride and contact Kristen for a little master on master training. At the very least she’ll give her a little insight into measures of punishment. If Kristen was in this position, she would make Roz work as a busboy at Don Antonio’s, and order her to yell out “It’s a fiiiieeesta everyday at Don Antonio’s” whenever a customer asked if they had seen her on TV. Cavallari had control over her stable of sidekicks, Lauren needs to pull the reigns in on hers a little.

YaKno [TypeKey Profile Page]:

chek spencers myspace.. He is with lauren smiling in pics recent.. BuLLSHIT!!!

livemusicjunkie [TypeKey Profile Page]:

I knew I hated Heidi...for weeks now I've been asking how ppl can like her. She is disgusting. She is the lowest kind of friend. Yes, I know a ton of editing is done by MTV, but no matter what they can't edit her to look like she completely screwed her friend over - that was all Heidi. No wonder she loves that loser so much, they're two peas in a pod. I say LC dumps that sow and moves on with her life. Once Heidi and Spence have to give up the MTV cameras, all will change. LOSERS - both of them.

Before I couldn't really care less about Lauren, I mean I thought she was a complete idiot for staying with Jason, but she lived and learned. And as much of a loser/dolt Jason was, he never treated Heidi the way Spencer has treated/treats LC. They truly suck!!!!

B-Side [TypeKey Profile Page]:

The best part of all this is that my birthday is on December 4th, and I tried to have my party at Les Deux on the 2nd because it was a Saturday, but they wouldn't allow me (mostly because I had a crowd of 60 people, not 5). The management then offered me the opportunity to throw the party at Geisha House, but because of logistics, I went elsewhere. To think, I could have intersected at least twice with this most amazing of episodes!

Chani [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG - I've been in this exact same situation witha friend who had a horrible boyfriend. it definately came between us and it got to teh poitn where she would just sneak around behind our backs and do stuff with him because she knew we all hated him so much and it put sucha stress on our relationships. It was definately a dont ask don't tell thing.

But the BEST PART? Him and I are now co-workers. Spence needs a job at Teen Vogue.

Emmy420 [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Lagunaconsultant - you present a very interesting point. What would Kristin do? I fear what she would do to Spencer if he crossed her...

LagunaConsultant [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Oh man that would have been classic. All of a sudden the camera pans over at Les Deux and you see B-Side dancing around in the background yelling “I’m too cute, I’m just too cute” with a tiara on his head. Now THAT would have been classic.

Speaking of Les Deux, did anyone else think the jerkoff in the trucker hat bared a striking resemblance to Dieter?

sarah [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG. Best. Episode. Ever.

Lauren's mom actually posts on here?! That's crazy!

Spencer is the biggest douche EVER.

And I loved the the lines about Jen Jenner. Too funny, B-Side!

jstar [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Jen was a little rude...I guess...but Lauren is a total and complete maniac. I thought there was going to be murder-suicide at the Hillside Villas just because Jen kissed Brody. She needs to dial the melodrama down a few thousand notches.

tater [TypeKey Profile Page]:

This may have been the best episode in the whole Laguna Beach/The Hills line of shows. I mentioned last week how Spencer was good for this show and this episode showed it. Yes he's a douchebag sleezball but look what his brainwashing caused. Trust me I'd never be friends with him but in the concept of MTV drama he's a genious.

Also I laughed the most for the Cedric mention and asking how you would feel if Hitler showed up to my wedding. I think this was one of your best recaps.

JerseyLove [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Aaaaah, great episode, but even better recap.

What is in the preview for next week? I need to know!

cherin [TypeKey Profile Page]:

this all just goes to show why Lauren is on the cover of magazines and is all over fashion week yet Heidi and vile Spencer have to model in Stuff magazine and try to get pornos of themselves released on the internet for attention.

It all comes down to how much class you have.

YankeesFan [TypeKey Profile Page]:

jstar - r u male? there is an unwritten female law that you don't hookup with someone your friend dated (or especially in this case) was currently "dating" however they may define it. i would have reacted exactly the same way as lauren did. jen was super rude...she knew what she was doing was wrong and that it would hurt lauren, but she went right ahead and did it.
also - the scene when heidi and jen were in the bathroom was soooo annoying how everything they said they repeated themselves 2 or 3 times.

sarah [TypeKey Profile Page]:

So I just typed in Jen Bunney (still can't get over the fact that Bunney is actually her last name) and apparently she is in some skanky calendar.

https://www.sparkmediala.com/girls.html

Jessica'sbrain [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Friends, how many of us have them? Apparently Lauren has 2 less than she thought. Heidi Dumbass is a terrible friend for pushing Jenn to get with Brody. Then she lied to Lauren about the whole situation. Thats 2 stabs in Laurens back. Jenn is stupid for listening to Heidi and Spencer. She knew how Lauren would feel because she has known Lauren since 3rd grade. Why is she becoming so close to Heidi? None of these bitches would be on tv if it weren't for Lauren. Brody and Jenn were probably a one night stand with backdoor action. How can you jeopardize a long friendship for that? Spencer and Brody are just using Lauren to get on tv. It is rumored they are trying to get their own MTV show. I hope we see Lo come on this show eventually. She is Lauren's true best friend forever.

Great recap bside. This epp ranks right up there with the Laguna epp when Jessica kissed Jason in front of Lauren.

Chee-Z-TeeVee Addict [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Happy belated birthday B-Side!

Yay! LagunaConsultant is back!!!!

Laguna, if you can obtain the diamond martini glass, as you did the blueberry tracksuit.... AND wear them TOGETHER... Ahhhhhh, it's almost too much to comprehend!

I feel bad for Lauren, I've been there, and NOTHING hurts as much as losing your boyfriend to your best friend - it's a double-betrayal. Heidi's participation in this was so manipulative, and calculated - I really couldn't believe how blatant it was. I've always defended Heidi, because I thought she was a good person and a good friend - but now I am formally withdrawing my support from Team Heidi!

As for Jen, I actually think that friendship is salvageable. Jen's not a compelling or interesting character in her own right, I think she saw an opportunity to have what comes so easily to her friends, and got carried away. What she did was awful, and hurtful - but I think in some ways she was as victimized as Lauren. Spencer, Heidi and Brody flat-out used her, and I'm sure Jen knows that by now.

Even though Jen violated and betrayed years of friendship, I'll bet she and Lauren will ultimately work it out. Brody Jenner is not worth losing a friendship over, and Jen must have felt terrible about her role in all of this when she realized how deeply she hurt Lauren.

I REALLY hope that this show backfires on Spencer and Brody. I'm sure they think any publicity is good publicity, not so... Just ask Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson. Brody is mainly just a cute guy with limited abilities and intelligence, trying to get his 15 minutes; Spencer is probably 15 minutes from becoming a full-on criminal - he is so base, and crass. He reminds me of a drug dealer, or a pimp - just a total low-life.

I like Wh-Wh-Whitney, she and Lauren seem like they have the most in common regarding educational goals, backgrounds, interests. And who couldn't like a girl who lives in a Bavarian candy shop?

Just a side note on the Masters/Sidekick question regarding K-Cav. Even though I thought she was funny, and I thoroughly enjoyed her ability to drive LB boys fucking nuts; she DID makeout with Jessica's new guy at Roz's party - and she KNEW Jessica was desperately trying to get over Jason. K-Cav doesn't seem to have retained any of her friendships, or loyalties from LB.

K Conrad can you tell us if Jen and Lauren patched it up? BTW - this episode must have been sheer torture for the Conrad family to watch! I wanted to climb through the TV and strangle Spencer and Heidi myself! When Lauren was crying, my heart broke a little for her. Team Heidi sucks!

I say we try to get Spencer and Tessa together for a show called "LA Losers: The Ugly Under-belly of Fame-Whores".

dsher [TypeKey Profile Page]:

OMG B-side, you genius! I loved your recap. So funny, so perfect, so right on!

That being said. I know now why I have always been on Team Lauren! She was so awesome this episode. Keep it up Lauren!

I can't believe Heidi thought she could just lie about the Brody-Jenn thing and get away with it. WTF? I see why she stays with Spencer, because she is just like him. I would love to see her get the boot.

Jen was a pathetic friend. At least she felt a slight bit of remorse.

Lauren deserves better friends.

missrhodeisland [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Heidi doesn't seem to have much self esteem, and I think that she just used this whole spinoff reality show thing to get on television.

I think she and the Turd Twins (Spencer and Brody) are angling for yet another spinoff show based on their sad little lives as LA club trash.

BTW someone needs to tell Heidi that the affected runway "walk" (read: awkward lurching) doesn't do much to hide her knock knees and lack of natural grace. She's just ridiculous.

LagunaConsultant [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ahh yes I’m back. It’s also good to see the group shrink is still up and running haha

I’ll sit on the couch for a moment…

I’m 100% with you that Jen was not nearly as heinous as Heidi in all of this. As horrible as it must have been for Lauren to watch that crap, she must have taken some solace in the fact that Jen tried to talk herself out of the whole mess because Lauren was such a good friend. Granted what she did was wrong, but as B-Side so elegantly stated with the greatest gift of all comment, Jen just seemed thrilled that she was being accepted on a different level than usual. I don’t think what she did was an intentional act to hurt Lauren, I just think she lost her head when thoughts of being Mrs. Jenn Jenner starting dancing through her head.

As far as acquiring the diamond martini glass necklace goes, I’m not so sure that’s going to happen. First of all, its diamonds, and second of all, even if Jenn was reading along with the comments and enjoyed the site, I highly doubt she would be very happy with the way she is being dragged through mud now. She doesn’t seem like the type that would take public criticism well, and if the myspace above is any indication, she’s not very happy with the way she’s being portrayed by MTV. It seems as if the only way this could happen was if it was a black bag job. I’d need a ski mask, a lock pick, the address from Kathy Conrad and balls of 100 men. Unfortunately, I’m 0-4 so I think we’re out of luck haha

As far as Kristen goes, I was in no way, shape or form saying that she was a good person or that anything that happened on this episode was above her. I was just merely stating that although she may have hooked up with Jessica’s crush, do you actually think that Jessica or Roz would have EVER contemplated hooking up with Stephen, Sam or Talan if they knew Kristen had been hooking up with them recently? The answer to that is a resounding no, and that’s all I was saying. Believe me, as you well know I’ve been firmly entrenched in camp Conrad since day 1, and if anything, this episode only strengthened my resolve.

BayArea [TypeKey Profile Page]:

"The cat then wandered into frame for a few moments, clearly thinking that this was a "Hey, let's gather 'round the cat!" moment. He was wrong. OUT OF THE WAY, FELINE!"

made me spit my wine out...

Im currently in a relatiohship with a guy whose a little bit of Jason and a lot of Spencer. Once you get into these type of manipulative/co-dependent relationships it's easy to get lost and difficult to find a way out. At first I thought that maybe Lauren was being a little harsh on Heidi. Like BSide said, you can dislike someones boyfriend, but still be there for the advice. After last night's episode though...it seems as if Heidi is just manipulative too.

BayArea [TypeKey Profile Page]:

...and I completely agree with LagunaConsultant in regaurds to Jen. Her need to fit in mixed with the amount of alcohol on her 21st bday put her in this position. Although making all those excuses on the phone to Lauren was pretty lame, but I LOVED how lauren called her out.

JerseyGirl [TypeKey Profile Page]:

Ugh, I really don't have anything to say that already hasn't been said but I just looked at Heidi's myspace and it's official that she's become a Spencer clone.

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=75548267&blogID=230799676&MyToken=f7e5c008-c0b0-4a58-9e4d-328c1b75169c

She now has Team Heidi shirts for sale.

Also, I saw the girls on the Hills on Tyra a couple of weeks ago and I think the friendship between Lauren and Heidi is pretty much just an act now. Lauren seemed pretty icy towards Heidi even though they were sitting right next to each other.

Did anyone else notice that at the club, when Heidi was saying how beautiful Jen was in the photo w/ Brody...she rolled her eyes almost directly at the camera. More proof that she could care less about Jen and was just acting as Spencer's mouthpiece.

Speaking of Spencer's mouth...cannot believe his father is a dentist, his teeth look like little pointy chicklets. Anyone else notice how much he looks like Chucky??

Also, is it just me, or does it seem like Spencer tries really hard to sound like Matthew McConaughey when he speaks?

I had the same reaction after the first time I saw him- I wrote it in one of the comments sections a while back. Glad it wasn't just me.

Also, props to Lauren for staying well adjusted in such a crazy environment.

I agree that this was probably the best hills/laguna episode since Jessica kissed Jason in front of Lauren. That recap earned over 750 comments. Somehow, I'm not sure that this will be able to compete...

OR WILL IT?
