But I actually have to disagree b/c I think it's the one on Third St across from the Grove b/c in one of the episodes, they show Heidi pull out of the gate entrance and I walk by that entrance all the time and it's the one across the street from Nordstrom in the Grove. I wish I had a screen shot of that to show you. I remember it was the first day of Heidi's job or on her way to the interview for the job.

I am guessing Heidi that day chose to leave on Third instead of sixth. And even if that wasn't the case and they actually live in Park La Brea East or West, it still doesn't put them in the hills. I think it would be impossible to find a pool like that with corresponding rooftops in Los Angeles, so I am sticking with the Palazzo.

it's hilarious to me that i'm so obsessed with this show as a man on the down side of his 20's, but anyway, i have to disagree that they are at the palazzo. if you look at the pic of heid and audria at the pool, they clearly are in a slightly shaded area poolside, with the furniture around the pool very close to the edge of the pool. the yellow stucco buildings are a dead giveaway too, the palazzo appears to have more of a cream color look, has no shade and the buildings are too far away from the edge of the pool. at the villas, the buildings are right on top of the pool area just like in the pic of heidi and audrina. they may live at the palazzo or park la brea, but this shot of them at the pool is clearly somewhere else. after all this is a TV show, it is not far fetched to think that even though it is raw, reality footage, that they won't still scope out sites to shoot the show, i'm sure for a small fee, the hollywood villas complex is more than happy to take MTV's money for the shoot, not to mention free advertising. maybe we'll never know.

No, it is the Palazzo, the satellite image is flat, and even though you can change the angle of view, the trees and everything else is flat, meaning you aren't going to see things like shade. And perspective? It also only occurs in three dimensions. The color of the building is going to be affected depending on what time of day it is.

The challenge is out there! Find me a similar building! Even the path between the two buildings at the top is the same. Send me the coordinates or an intersection of the real building and I'll admit I am wrong. Don't make me actually sneak in there to take pictures.

However, I think we all agree they are not the Hillside Villas.

okay it is not park la brea either because their website shows a picture of a jr. olympic size swimming pool, clearly they are hanging out at an oval shaped pool.

look at the palazzo at park la brea's website, that pool in the pic is olympic shaped, not oval. so unless they have two pools, that is not the palazzo.

There are two Palazzo complexes. The original is across the street from the Grove. The later addition is a few blocks away at 3rd and Hauser. Maybe the pools, etc are different? But I'm fairly sure they were living at one of the two. As I commented on one of the episodes, they showed a shot looking out of the windows, and one of the Park La Brea towers was clearly visible. And if it's not confusing enough already, there is a complex called the Villas at Park La Brea in the same area which also has a freeform shaped pool.

J-Unit, I just double checked on Google Earth, I believe the place you've marked with a pin is indeed Villas at Park La Brea, not Palazzo. The villas are on 6th, whereas both Palazzo complexes are on 3rd.

To set the record once and for all, koalacola is right on the money. These properties mentioned (Palazzo east/la brea and The Villas at Park La Brea) are all managed by Aimco. Go to http://www.aimco.com/Communities/default.aspx?PropertyID=041869

lame that MTV says it's in West Hollywood but really it's right in the city of Los Angeles. Privacy reasons maybe? It doesn't matter at all since they both moved out long before ep 1 aired.

Just to add to my above comment, MTV took little clips of the other properties and used them together to make it look like one property. So Laurens real home, well was at 5555 West 6th Street Los Angeles,CA 90036.

I go to the same school, had a class with Lauren, and lived in Park La Brea, and she does indeed live in the Villa's at Park La Brea. I've been in them, seen the pool and the rooms and they are the same.

I hate to ruin everyone's story below but believe me this is the deal.

The Hills is using different buildings....one for the interior, one for the exterior.

The INTERIOR is using the Palazzo West -- the one across from the Grove.

i came across this when someone told me to look about the apartments on th hills.. well just to straighten things up.. i live here at the villas (5555 west 6) and lauren audrina and heidi were all members of our apt. community! they do show diff. shots and we are not in the "hills" but are in a fab location.. just thought u wanted to know!

actually, i was watching the show and the inside is exactly the same as my apartment, i live in the palazzo. the fridge, pantry, microwave and over are all the same and in the same places as is in my apartment. so im pretty sure its the palazzo, not the villas.

Hey, my best friend lives in the Palazzo apts and they're always filming there so I know it's where it is. Besides, I took her keys one afternoon just to verify and everything is exactly the same as on the show. If you look at episode 12, you can even see the new carpets they put in the hallways. I just noticed them a couple of weeks ago and now I see them on t.v.

i have carefully watched every episode of season 2 and paused to see and finally get a picture of how their apt. looks like and i compared it to floor plans in both the Palazzo and the Villas at park la brea and found a match. they obviously have a milano apt. at the palazzo. none of the villas floor plans seemed to have matched their apt. One hint i used was the stairs located to the right side of the entrance to the apt. and the kitchen is obviously located to its left.There are more hints but that was a key one.

ive been friends with lauren for a really long time. the reason they say they live at the "hillside villas" is because that's where they lived when they first moved into LA. then people started stalking them and knocking on their apartment door, so then switched apartment complexes while keeping the video footage of the old apartments, so taht people like you couldn't find them!

Google "Villas at Park La Brea" and you'll see a website, it looks similar to the Palazzo and is next to the Palazzo, but is NOT the Palazzo.

They're NOT hillside but they're not the Palazzo, Stephanie Pratt lives at the Palazzo. I know the difference because I have a place in the villas.

Hey, I just want to let you know that you are wrong about "The Hills" not being filmed in L.A. I have found the actual website of the apartments. I am a 'Hills' fanatic! So i looked it up, and it really is filmed in L.A. The apartments in the show are known as 'The Hillside Villas" But they are really called, Villas At Park La Brea.

They girls actually live in the Palazzo but they filmed the exterior of another complex to make it difficult for people to know exactly where they lived. They would have people knocking on their doors at weird housr and they have to switch apartments but continued to file the exterior of unit next door.

Wuaoo exactly 2 years after your firsts comments i decided to search for the location because i love that hot girls (more Lauren, her friend audrina looks like porn star Ashley blue)and we see the serie by cable mtv thesedays in Peru.
