TVgasm Recaps

In our continual effort to make TVgasm a better resource for the viewers, we wanted to try harder to remind people of upcoming programming with enough of lead time that you might actually have time to set your Tivos, DVRs and any other recording devices. I even created a category "Tivo Alert", so you can easily check back here at anytime. Because we receive a lot of PR requests (and I am lazy), some of these Tivo alerts will contain little more than the press release, although we don't intend to promote anything we believe looks completely awful, unless, of course, there is a giveaway or some methadone involved. Anyway, to stay in the spirit of the season, we thought we would highlight some Halloween themed shows from The Food Network and a few others. Why did I put a picture of Christopher Walken in Sleepy Hollow for a Food Network Post? Well, for starters, I couldn't find any good pictures of Katrina Van Tassel's (Christina Ricci) cleavage. I was never really a huge fan of Howard Stern. I don't particularly like listening to anybody on the radio, and he was no exception. However, I did respect the way he liked to push the limits and I religiously watched him when his show was still on E!. It's really unfortunate that the people at Paramount were such bitches because it would have been nice to have his show on air, even as he took to the satellite radio airwaves. I was very happy to learn that the King of All Media would be offering a 1¢ preview November 3-5 featuring highlights of his show from the last year as well as uncensored classics. I was also upset to learn that this was only available through certain cable subscribers, which means me and my Sunday Ticket loving DirecTV ass would have to do without. My friend Amanda (not THE Amanda from TVgasm) has a blog called How Not To Be Dreadful, and while I've mentioned it quietly here and there, I haven't had any real reason to truly plug it until now. There's a new television show on Fox that looks so utterly dreadful that I couldn't post about it without mentioning Amanda's site. You see, the series is called VIP Passport, and it follows the exploits of Trishelle Cannatella (yes, that Trishelle), Jerry from The Bachelorette (the one who Jen Schefft rejected), and Rachel Sterling, who is apparently a Pussycat Doll. There are two other people in the cast, but honestly, no one knows who they are. Now, if the appeal of Trishelle, Jerry, and a Pussycat Doll hasn't already sold you, maybe the show's unique (read: convoluted) premise will. According to the press release, the show "intertwines the fictional plotlines of the cast with a travelogue approach as each episode passes through some of the hottest locations in a different cosmopolitan city." So basically, it's Wild On... meets Unscripted meets AWFUL. Sadly, I will probably watch.

One of the great things about blogging is that I get to watch lots of embarrassing television and get away with it by saying it's part of the job. This helps when you are trying to explain to people why you have a season pass of Days of Our Lives on the Tivo in your bedroom (don't worry Tyra, I didn't forge about you!). I love Days and although we don't have anybody recapping it (if you want to recap Days or any other show, I hear we are having a contest), I recently received a press release that I had to share. Smokey Robinson will be playing an axe murderer and taking Dr. Marlena Evans hostage! OK, that may not quite be the whole story, but read the details after the jump.

After an odd first season of 2 weeks of new shows, 4 weeks of reruns, 1 week new, 2 week reruns, I am happy to announce that tonight NBC SPORTS starts airing all new episodes of POKER AFTER DARK. I'm a huge poker nut, and have fielded dozens of emails asking when the reruns will end, this is to all you folk - SET YOUR TIVO's!!!
