90210 Cw

I liked it, but I hated it. I really am so on the fence about this one because I am so biased when it comes to 90210. Nat from the Peach Pit actually looked younger! ha. Shannen looked great too, although she was only on for a total of 4 minutes, booo! And, I’m not even going to talk about Jennie (we just saw her on Dancing With The Stars).

Everything else seemed like like a good knock off the original except with way more bling. Jets on a date, Maxfield dresses as a cheating repayment, and video blogs…but the one thing that got me was the forced diversity. Like the Middle-Eastern kid’s Dad who was a porn producer??? What was that??? Or how about the principal’s son? Not believable. Beverly Hills is much more diverse than they portrayed. However, for being a CW show the new 90210 was better than I thought…but not good by any standards, but then again neither is The Hills and I’m obsessed with that.

All in all, the show was way too long and boring with terrible acting, but then again it was only the first episode. I’m giving the show a short chance.

One last thought, what are those girls eating for meals??? Lettuce???????????? They need to gain weight!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Nads, I loved the original 90210 as much as anyone. See the long post I just put under Chickbomb’s post. However, I think you may be letting your own love for the show and nostalgia get the better of you. The original 90210 had more than its share of terrible acting, particularly in the early seasons, and LOTS of painfully cheesy storylines. I watched most of the premiere, but I don’t know as a 39 y/o guy if I can commit to watching a show that I’m basically going to have to watch in secret and only admit to here.

OMG! I loved the premiere last night. It literally was everything I thought it would be and then some. The cast is really great and the vide of Beverly Hills is definitely present. I think they did a great job with this spin-off and I can’t wait until next week’s show.

I’m with you Jason, but I’m giving it some more time. You are right the acting was bad on the original, but I was so obsessed I saw completely passed it! At least the actors actually looked like they could be in high school vs. the original.

I agree with JasonR. I watched the first dreadful hour being highly disappointed in the acting and storylines, dreaming of the old 90210…Then I remembered, this is EXACTLY what the old 90210 was like except, I was 14 and not 30, and had different expectations. The 2nd hour got better, and while I hate the (slightly incestuous) main bro/sis characters, I found the supporting cast more interesting. I still longed for more Kelly and Brenda, hell, even more Nat would’ve been nice. I will continue to watch and will probably get hooked. Just b/c I’m older doesn’t mean I’m wiser.
