A Munsters Reboot? Why???

I must have missed something somewhere along the line, because I just read that they’ve finalized the director and executive producer for the Munsters reboot. Um, when did they order such show, and why??? Why won’t networks learn that reboots don’t work? They need to put an end to this madness.

Television reboots are like taking shots of Jägermeister…they seem like a great idea at the time, but once you take them they become a pukey mess. Moral of the story: stay away, and run as fast as you can.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Best analogy I’ve seen in a long time. Agreed!

Why? Nads, CBS gave Fred Durst a development deal; we are obviously living in the end of days.
Sigh, I hate when Kirk Cameron is right.

My favorite is that they’re not remaking it as a sitcom…they’re remaking it as an hour-long drama…

    I blame Twilight…

    It’s been proven that reboots work well on network TV. Just look at Knight Rider . . . and The Bionic Woman . . . and Charlie’s Angels . . . and Melrose Place . . . and V . . .

What??? They tried a comedy reboot once and it didn’t take. So a drama instead? I repeat: What??

Why? It isn’t going to work, I think the only reboot that has worked(more than 1 season) is Hawaii 5-O and I haven’t seen one episode of that show.
Please Hollywood stop this nonsense…no more rebooted movies or shows. Let us revel in our memories. But, they should at least cast that guy from Everybody Loves Raymond show as Herman

The quirkiness that made The Munsters such a hit during its heyday would make it just seem stupid now. And to change that quirkiness fundementally changes the show. So why bother?

Why can’t people just come up with a new idea for a change?! FFS!

I thought now that the Boomers are retiring it would be the end of stupid 60s tv shows being brought lumbering back to life like Frankenstein’s monster. And I’ve found that all these shows that you remember fondly from childhood are not nearly as great and funny as you remember. It’s just another stupid sitcom with some red scare subtext.
