Absolutely Fabulous

I’ve had a hard few weeks because I’ve been overworked, no…not at the Gasm because you guys have been my saving grace, but let’s just say it’s been rough, but the sun JUST came out because I just read that they’re doing three new episodes of Absolutely Fabulous!!

Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are coming together after six years to shoot three episodes this summer. Joanna Lumley said, “In late August I start filming on three episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, which we are all ecstatic about…Jen wrote to me and said, ‘Let’s talk through it. What do you think?’. And I said, ‘Bring it on’. Because we’re all still here. Mother’s still alive, the wonderful June Whitfield. Julia Sawalha [and] Jane Horrocks [are] all still alive and available … and I think we just have to do it. The great thing is that because … we fast-forwarded to where they’re very old and nearly dead and practically plugged into vodka machines, it doesn’t matter how beyond [the original series] we do it.”

They’re going to be airing on BBC1, but seeing how popular it is in the U.S. I’m certain that it will be airing here too.

Here’s to the return of Patsy and Edina!! Happy Friday!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I just saw a couple of spoofs this weekend that they were in. So funny. The spoof was called Uptown Downstairs Abbey. If you like Upstairs Downstairs or Downton Abbey, you’ll find it funny. :)

Yay! Joanna Lumley’s incredible. She still pops up on episodes of “Are You Being Served” from 35-ish years ago.
I, too, hope they air it on BBC America.
