ABC has pulled Don’t Trust the B—-Apartment 23 off their schedule, which basically means they’re canceled. James Van Der Beek tweeted:

So sad. It’s amazing how some shows can make it so far (not mentioning ANY names), while others get the ax. I’m surprised they’re not burning off the remaining episodes on a Friday night. We’ll miss you, Beek.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Hopefully a smart cable channel will come along and pick it up. Sorry James, it was a funny show.

I just started watching this and thought it was pretty good. Are they going to replace it with some tired medical/legal/cop drama that we’ve seen 1000 times before but they just move it to a new city?

Does that mean Happy Endings is safe?

I really like both shows!! And JVDB is awesome in it.. I haz sads. But, as long as Damon Wayans Jr and Adam Pally remain a comedic duo, I’m happy. Dreidel spin! From boys to menorah!

TBS saved Cougar Town so who knows, maybe something similar will happen here.

The show was just too edgy and ABC really fucked it over in the past few weeks with it playing episodes WAY out of order, no set time warning on when the episodes were airing, and showing multiple episodes in the week. Guess I’ll just have to find some other comedy show to get into.

Happy Endings, Jarthon! Let’s save it from a similar fate. It’s a rapid-fire joke a minute laugh fest. Their second seasn was stronger, but this one has had some great episodes..especially the Christmas and Thanksgiving ones. Oh, and From Boys to Menorah.

ABC has given it absolutely no advertising..most people have never even heard of the show, let alone know that it’s been on for three season. It comes on Tues at 9..before Apt 23. They also tried to burn through eps by putting both shows on Tues and Sundays but that didn’t work, so now they want to pull the eps?! What is this, 666 Park Ave??

(My captcha is ‘face the music’, so I guess I shall. Le sigh..)

“Who wants to get weird and play Mario Kart?” Sadly, NO ONE. EVER AGAIN. This show was seriously the funniest non-animated scripted show on TV. It deserved so much more than the crappy time-slots and juggling it got. I hope it gets picked up by another network, but I’m not holding my breath. I’m surprised ABC carried it as long as it did, because it was really edgy and hilariously wacky. God, I’ll fucking miss this show. So freaking much.

Damn, I liked the show and Vanderbeek was funnah! We are going to miss out on another (great) stupid game show idea from him? So, fucking up “Happy endings” is next? Followed by putting rubber face Reba and Tim(same schtick, different cast) Allen shows in their time slots?

Great, because my Tuesday nights could be freed up to rewatch “Downton Abbey” …or exercise. Thanks ABC!! :(

I only watched it maybe 5 times–could never remember when it was on– but everytime I caught it I loved it! So funny and the characters could have been SO easy to hate, but they really did it well.

This can join my long list with Veronica Mars, Firefly, Arrested Development, and (soon-to-be) Community of prematurely canceled shows.

Could Don’t Trust the B be paired with Cougar Town? Could TBS be a dream maker and pick up awesomely weird comedies that networks shy away from? At least now I know that my confusion to the timelines came from out of order airing, and not smoking too much weed. Crisis averted!

I think the airing of older season 1 episodes after season 2 episodes had played out was an incredibly bad idea. They should have had Van Der Beek do an awesome disclaimer at the beginning of each episode letting us know that they were older episodes. I watched every episode religiously (albeit on Hulu, since I don’t have cable, so I guess I’m sort of to blame for this . . .) and was really confused that June was “back” at the coffee house after just having scored a new job. About halfway into the first “extra” episode I figured out what they were doing, but if I were a new viewer who had just started watching a few weeks before, I’d be confused and probably turn the channel, honestly.

This show was just too good for network television. It was too quirky, too irreverent, too ball-sy for ABC. I’m glad that ABC took a chance on it, since having the show in my life for those brief moments was a joyous occasion. But I’m still pissed. 90% of new shows just don’t stand a chance anymore, due to shuffling around so that networks can air “The Bachelorette Special Edition: Unaired Uncensored Moments Special Part VI” whenever they want. Reality tv is the death-knell for quality scripted television.
