Adam Lambert has officially joined Queen. Adam said, “The intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some fucking great songs. It’s to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would’ve been proud of. The way I’m choosing to view it is that it’s a great honor and one I’m in no way going to shirk.”

No one will take Freddie Mercury’s place, but if there is anyone that can come close to Freddie’s theatrics, it’s Adam. Good move, Adam…and good move, Queen. I wonder what the age gap is between Adam and the rest of the band? He was barely a fetus when Queen was in their prime.

**UPDATE**Nothing has been set in stone. A rep for Queen’s label said, “The Daily Star item only mentions that Adam may perform with Queen at Sonisphere. This is not confirmed. Nothing has been signed. However, if this were to happen, Queen would be returning to the setting of their final concert with Freddie Mercury, which took place in 1986.”

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Well, at least with Queen he’ll have some good songs to sing. He has a wonderful voice but most of the pop stuff he’s come out with is sub-par and don’t show it off.

Queen’s officially become a tribute band then? Bunch of old geezers and their (not-so-young) Wedding Singer front-guy?

No, seriously. It’s a hoax. Just a publicity stunt. He’s got a new single coming out or something like that.

Remember when people started a petition to ban anything related to Kim Kardashian from the media? Well, I propose the same thing be done with Adam Lambert.

Don’t worry. A secret, extremely well-funded group of genetic scientists and Queen aficionados have procured a sample of Freddie Mercury’s DNA. They swear that if Queen ever gets another lead singer, it will be Freddie himself.

I say give the guy a chance. I never watched him on Idol so I don’t know really know him. I remember when Brian May and Roger Taylor went on Idol a couple of years ago and they all did Queen songs. They have some awesome material and I’d love to catch them live since I totally missed them 30 years ago and didn’t cath them with Paul Rogers a few years ago.

I concur 2much– I am on board with this. Sadly we did not get a reality show to go with the casting like the INXS show (which I watched obsessivley), but this is a good fit. I hope it is hoax-free.
