As  you may have heard Alec Baldwin is leaving 30 Rock in 2012. At first I was shocked because he told The Huffington Post that the show would end next year, but today he clarified his statement saying, just because he’s leaving, it doesn’t mean the show will end. He said, I want to take the opportunity to state that although my days on network TV may be numbered, I hope 30 Rock goes on forever. Or at least as long as everyone involved desires…Next year hopefully won’t be the last…Kenneth can run the network. Jenna will get her own talk show. Tracy will become Mayor of New York. Then resign to go raise exotic reptiles. And Lemon will go do…. just about anything she sets her mind to. Here’s to five more seasons.”

I do hope the show goes on. I love 30 Rock! It’s still not old for me like The Office is. I’m so sad that Alec will be leaving, because he’s brilliant on it. But maybe he wants to make an exit next year to end on a high note? Who knows?? Either way, I say keep the show on the air for at least a couple more seasons. It’s a hell of a lot better than dumb Two and a Half Men

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I have a love/hate relationship with 30 Rock. Sometimes I find the episodes are flat-out hilarious, but sometimes they’re slow, annoying, and pedantic. The ‘Plan B’ episode was one of the latter. I’ve loved comedic Alec Baldwin ever since he was making out with Eric McCormack and Megan Mulally on Will & Grace, but I think he’s a big part of 30 Rock and the show will be kind of odd without him. I kind of get the impression that Tina Fey’s burned out on it too. But I love Tina, so I’d probably still watch a non-Baldwin 30 Rock.

Noooooooooooooo! Will be interesting to see who they get to take his place, not that anyone will be able to truly do that.

I don’t know about the future of the show without Alec. Even though the entire cast is talented his relationship with TIna Fey is the foundation that the rest of the cast rotates around. It would have been like Ed Asner leaving Mary Tyler Moore in season 6 and Mary working for a new boss the final season…Just don’t see it working….and now that Tina Fey’s announced she is pregnant again, I can’t see her continuing the show much longer.
