As a die hard former American Idol fan, I was very sad to have sworn off the show last season. But, I had no other choice, it was just plain bad. The show had jumped the shark, and I thought there was no return. Anyway, as you well know Idol is on right now and I’ve caught a couple episodes out of pure accident…I’ve either been at a friend’s house while it was on, or with my family. And I can’t believe I’m about to say this right now, but I’m actually liking the show this season. After last night’s episode, I even gave it a season pass on my DVR. Is it because it’s better than the other crap that’s on TV, or has it gotten better? I can’t quite figure it out.

Also, a side note…that dude Matheus Fernandes–remember him from the first season of The Glee Project on Oxygen? I was shocked when I saw him on the show. Anyway, he didn’t make it then and he still didn’t make it last night. Poor little guy…but he was never my fav. But it was a trip to see him on Idol.

Anyway, am I being tricked into this season? Or is it a lot better? The show is like an ex that will never go away.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

It’s better this year due to (and I can’t believe I’m saying this) Nicki Minaj.

The audition rounds were as awful as ever. Hollywood Week is always fun though — someone really ought to come up with a reality show singing concept based around this part, which is the best part of idol. Once it turns into the karaoke competition, it starts to drag again.

But those audition rounds really have to go…

Oh sweety you have been tricked!
Never mind that you at one point actually liked it.
But you did smell the coffee and wake up.
But why the change of heart?
Well you may have caught the show at a point when it’s most offensive aspects don’t hit you over the head and scream. And hey this show is not done on the cheap. It has slick grade a + tv production so it can be a beautiful piece of eye and ear candy. Sometimes.
I bet watching it gives you a dim warm and fuzzy feeling too-because when you really liked it your life looking back then seemed less stressful and happy. So viewing this show is kinda like a contact high.
But make no mistake about it. This show is total garbage. Fake. Pandering. Posturing. The panel of judges are an atrocity.
Oh and by the way do they (Ryan and Simon) still tease each other about the other one possibly being gay? Sorry that was not funny. But sort of embarrassing for the 2 men whose sexual orientation has been questioned most. Yes I know Ellen was a judge. So what?
Keep watching it will start stinking. Its been on too long and it is as stale as a Kim Richards chicken salad after 24 hours in the fridge.

Nads, NatPatBen is exactly right! Your eyes/ears are not deceiving you: it’s better this season, and it’s all thanks to Nicki. Also, I enjoy watching the rotund Miss M wear skin-tight clothing … that lady has a great photoshop team. Mariah always looks so skinny in pics, but not on AI. And “Keefy” has pretty hair.
