Jamawn Woods told TMZ that Chipotle ruined his now closed restaurant chain, Soul Daddy. He’s blaming Chipotle for placing a bad management team in place and is claiming that they had no experience in running a soul food restaurant. There’s no lawsuit quite yet as they’re trying to reach a settlement, but as of now Jamawn hasn’t received a dime of his promised salary of $46,000.

As a viewer of the show I’m quite surprised that the restaurant closed as quickly as it did. I’d be upset if I were Jamawn too…restaurants are always in the red the first six months of business. It seems as though Chipotle stamped their name on something for the TV exposure, and then just gave up once they had to follow through. Although, the restaurant could have just failed miserably because the product sucked too? And because it was on TV, it got the exposure necessary and failed that much faster. I can’t judge because it closed too fast for me to even eat there. Did you guys ever get a chance to check it out?

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

My daughter and a friend went to the Mall of America site a month or so after it opened – well after the soft opening. They had positive expectations but hated it. In fact, it was the only meal they ever took back and asked for a refund. The manager was deeply apologetic. Everything was bland, the cornbread was dry, it was a disaster. Sad.

UGH! that sucks! sorry to hear that. i guess the show did give it enough publicity to make it fail even faster. jamawn needs to stop blaming management and start taking some responsibility for his recipes.

The problem is three restaurants opening at the same time. That was just insane. They should have concentrated on one restaurant then opened another one then another. One restaurant open at a time allows you to get everything ready such as staff and even tweak the menu to where it works for the local region. Then you can work on opening up another with some of the staff being transferred so the new open gets open up quicker.
