Ricky Gervais isn’t hosting the Globes this year! You know what they say: suck at the Globes once, blame the Hollywood Foreign Press’ shitty grasp of the English language. Suck at the Globes twice, blame the open bar and the too drunk to care Hollywood Foreign Press. Suck at the Globes three times, the Hollywood Foreign Press eez agtually teenkeen you mide be goot! Suck at the Globes four times…wait. Hollywood Foreign Press got so drunk last year that they forgot to invite you back YOU FILTHY AMERICAN PEEEEG!

Point is, this year Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are taking over!! They should be a hell of a lot funnier, if, unfortunately, nicer. I was half kidding while using the word “suck” in the above paragraph. There were a lot of complaints about Gervais, but his complete and utter respect for the idiot celebs in the room won me over immediately. I understand that three plus hours of uncomfortable tension isn’t for everyone, but it’s why I look forward to the holidays and Ricky Gervais in anything.

I will never forget him getting the death stare from that blowhard George Clooney. So this is a messy post because I’m half thrilled and half depressed. Kinda like I always am. Check out the preview Fey and Poehler taped below and tell me what you guys think. Are you gonna miss Ricky or is it time for a more positive outlook?

Currently, Flipit's writing Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recaps, which you can find here. You can also find him doing a gossip segment twice a week called BS of the Day and video recaps of Project Runway All Stars, as well as spoof ReDubs of the coming soon trailers at the end of RHOBH!

Ronnie Karam has been with TVgasm since 2006 , which has given him the opportunity to make fun of hundreds of TV's most loved and hated reality whores. His plan in life was to be Julia Roberts but that plan was stolen by, well, Julia Roberts. He'll get you one day, JULIA ROBERTS!! When not making himself giggle for the gasm, Ronnie performs improv and sketch comedy at IO West in Hollywood a couple of times weekly while using the lovely California days to audition for commercial roles such as "ADORABLE MEXICAN UNCLE". Seriously. He would like to thank Jesus, Buddha and Xenu for the blessings they've bestowed. The writers here are the best around, and he's honored to be associated with them. I always found Gervais’ utter lack of self-awareness obnoxious since he desperately wants to be one of those idiot celebs in the audience. Fey and Poehler may be less mean but they’ll also probably put effort into writing jokes instead of getting hammered and spewing their envy.

George Clooney has become a pompous ass. I liked him better when he was Booker.

I love Ricky Gervais, actually. I thought he was pretty funny. Obnoxious, yes, but that’s his style. And I found it amusing when they would pan to the celebrities who couldn’t take a joke.

Interested to see what Fey and Poehler will come up with. I love those two, I hope they can pull it off.

Girls (especially funny girls) rule! It’s going to be great. I loved Gervais as a host, but he won my heart when he guest-starred on Sesame Street and sang a lullaby about the letter “N” to Elmo. It’s hilarious; he even makes fun of his own “celebrity” status. Check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jc20vMz0V7Q

As much as I love both these women, I wish Hollywood would have given them their own year. Both could hold their own and they don’t need each other. But here’s to hoping for a Sarah Palin/Hilary Clinton skit! That would slaughter us all in laughter!
