Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science have asked James Franco, and Anne Hathaway to host the 83rd Annual Academy Awards show, and they’ve accepted. That is kind of amazing, don’t you think? Way to bring in a younger demo! If this won’t bring in ratings, I don’t know what will.

What’s super cool is that both, James and Anne, have been nominees in the Best Actor and Actress category…and this year James MAY get nominated for 127 Hours.

Say what you will about them, but I think the two of them hosting is an awesome choice! Can’t wait to watch!

**UPDATE** It’s official! They producers of the Academy Awards said, “James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons- fresh, exciting and multi-talented. We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world.”

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

My brain works at exactly the same speed as my mouth. That’s why I’m hearing the horrifying things I say at the same time everybody else is, when it’s too late to do anything about it.

    It’s a problem.

Ugh, Anne Hathaway. I file her with Taylor Swift. They’re EVERYWHERE and I think they’re both completely overrated.

JudgyWudgy, you are a heretic, and you should burn for your beliefs. ;-p Except for the Taylor Swift part.

Judgy Wudgy, you are not alone. I don’t care for Anne Hathaway’s “acting skills.” Unfortunately, I don’t think this is going to do a darn thing for the Oscars. James Franco is okay.

Also not a big Anne fan but I really like James Franco. He seems to do his own thing, like appearing on General Hospital. I also heard he stayed for a few hours after taping Inside the Actors Studio to answer all the audience’s questions. Could make for an interesting show!
