Chef Anthony Bourdain is going to have his own weekend show on CNN covering food and travel. CNN‘s EVP said, “For more than a decade, Anthony Bourdain has been a trailblazer in educating Americans about different cuisines and cultures around the world, as well as an outspoken commentator on social trends ranging from the rise of celebrity chefs to the impact of fast food chains to the spread of vegetarianism and veganism. Examining the world through the prism of Tony’s unique expertise and passions continues CNN’s long-standing commitment to international reporting and to promoting global understanding.”

The show will launch early 2013, and it’ll follow Anthony on location exploring different cultures–food and travel…kind of similar to his Travel Channel show, but with more travel. I know it’s weird, but I’m such a sucker for these lifestyle shows…it’s like I’m on vacation without even going. They’re perfect for lazy Saturday afternoons on the couch, while everyone else is watching sportsball.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Hmm…he seems so “anti-establishment”, so this is a werid move to me.
    I guess it’s all about the dolla$$$$$

Bourdain stopped being “anti-establishment” a long, long time ago.

I love his shows, but doesn’t he do any other type of show? A Cook’s Tour… No Reservations… The CNN Whatchamacallit…

I just don’t see what this new show could provide that watching all 1,000,012 episodes of NR couldn’t.

I was hoping to see him on some sort of political debate show. “You, sir, are a f*$*&$ idiot!”

Can’t stand him. An arrogant asshole of epic proportions.
    He’s a bit of a bully too.
Of course, he’s what a lot of people like…so go figure.
Never has been an actual chef.
He worked in some good restaurants and that’s
where he got his “insider” views and entitled sense of criticism for other people’s work.
    Yech.

“Never has been an actual chef.”

    Huh?

He was the executive chef of Les Halles.

You may not like him, but he was an “actual chef”.

Well, he has never been a chef since he became famous. I don’t blame him for that, though.
