Arnold and Maria are seperating after 25-years of marriage. I’m so sad to hear about my former Governator’s marriage being on the rocks. They survived being on opposite sides of the political fence for so long–I can’t believe that it’s just ending now. You’d think the Bush years would’ve been their breaking point.

The couple issued this statement:

“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship.

We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.”

Do you think when they decided to take a break, Arnold looked at Maria and said, “I’ll be back?” …Too soon?

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

    I’d never thought about it until I saw that movie about Harvey Milk, but multiple campaigns must put a real strain on a marriage.

    I think I just realized I have a soft spot for Ahnold. I don’t feel like making any ascerbic comments at his expense. Maybe I should lie down…

    is it wrong that my first thought was what took them so long?! Campaigning aside, I thought his penchant for sexually harrassing young girls would have taken its toll a lot sooner.

    Maria has looked like she is suffering from an eating disorder for decades now. And maybe that might have something to do with the separation. Living with someone who has an eating disorder would be tough. But like 2muchbravo, I’m a bit surprised. I thought they had a pretty stable marriage.

    I figured it was that classic “staying together for the children” scenario and now that three of their children are adults, and the youngest is in high school, it was “time.” Still sad.

    Maybe Maria wants to upgrade. I mean, when she met him, he was a bodybuilder with an 8-pack. These days…not so much. LOL
    Nah, I feel bad because 25 yrs is a long time but maybe they just grew apart. It happens.
