Ashton Kutcher tweeted this about the Penn State Coach/child sex abuse scandal:

Um, maybe he should turn the TV on, or read before making such a blanket statement on TWITTER! What an idiot!

After receiving backlash from the twitter universe he deleted the above tweet and tweeted an apology.

He tweeted:

Why are some celebrities so dumb? I really can’t stand this dude…not even a little bit. I liked him for a quick second, but then was reminded of what a douchebag he was when all the Demi stuff came out, and then went back to hating him again. He belongs on the same island as Kim K…they can have each other.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

While JoePa is involved in this scandal I do understand that some people are upset at his firing. You can still feel sympathy for the victims in this situation and JoePa. Many football fans grew up with this guy coaching Penn State so it’s sad to see that his legacy ends this way.

I am wondering if he is speaking about the way it was done. They fired him over the phone. I worked at Gap for two weeks and still got fired face to face.

If the guy were a bishop with a child-molesting priest in his diocese, no one would have any problem with how he was fired. Football gets such a pass in this country.

I don’t think so Maryedith. If you grow up thinking you bishop is a good person and they don’t handle a bad situation correctly people would be hurt by that.

Ok, I may not understand the entire story, but it seems to me that JoePa got fired because OTHER people didn’t do THEIR jobs. As I’ve read, heard about, seen on tv, ect. The man was told, he then told the higher ups, and there was a police investigation that was dropped (wrongly IMO). What else was he expected to do when the POLICE dropped the investigation which they found back then to be groundless? I personally think Penn State’s decision was a rash judgement meant to try and cover their (the boards) asses.
Like I said, I may be wrong or basis my opinion on info that may not be true or even complete, but I’m sure there is someone on here who will jump in and set me straight if that be the case. :)

I’ve been so out of the news loop I just found out about this story here.

I wondered how come all of a sudden I was seeing all these TV commercials for Penn State. They’re in major Damage Control Marketing Mode right now!

Apparently one of Ashton’s own followers responded on his Twitter page to the effect of ….”Poor Taste is cheating on your wife with a skank on your own anniversary”! There are many reasons that Twitter account may be down for awhile…Ha, ha ha!

kittkatt, you need to read more about it, the police investigation was before the incident – they didn’t have enough to prosecute initially. Then this incident was covered up. Sure he told his higher ups and that was all that was required by law (btw, that’s a crap law). But morally he had a duty to the children being RAPED to report it. How could he sleep at night?

See, I knew someone would put me in my place :) I wasn’t aware that the police investigation was concerning an entirely different situation. I still have questions though. Where were the parents? If it would my child nothing anyone said or did would make me not pursue this to fruition. And what about Mike Mcquery? The witness who is now assistant coach? Following Penn States train of thought on trying to clean up the situation, why isn’t HIS job on the line as well?

As far as where were the parents, Sandusky (the abuser) had set up a non profit for troubled young boys and would take them to visit Penn State. So in my opinion, he was one of the worst sort of offenders; he preyed on boys who already had problems, and whose parents probably looked at him as someone who they could trust and could help turn the kids lives around. The only disciplinary action that was taken after Paterno reported it to the Athletic Director was that Sandusky was told he couldn’t bring the boys on campus anymore. I can only imagine the number of victims that have come forward already is just the tip of the iceberg. If they had actually gone to the police at that time, imagine in the 9 years it’s been how many children could have actually been saved from victimization. I have to imagine there have been many since then.

KittKatt, unbelievablely that cowardly POS is going to be on the sidelines this weekend, coaching. If he had any decency, he would be emptying his locker and getting the fuck out of Penn State. That you could walk away and let that horrible thing continue is unbelievable.

The whole situation is tragic. As a survivor of childhood molestation and physical abuse, I know first hand how dealing with something like this can affect every aspect of a persons life from causing feelings of unworthiness, guilt, high risk behavior, possible drug use, self doubt, ect. I weep for these kids, and hope that everyone involved whether directly or “on the sidelines” so to speak get exactly what they deserve.

@kittkatt – believe me, most people following this and not just having a kneejerk reaction to the sacking of Paterno want McQueary out just as bad. In fact, I think everyone would be happy if every POS at Penn State that knew about what was going on and colluded to cover things up would get swept out with the trash ASAP. Speaking as a PA native and a person who grew up about 20 miles from main campus :D

Here is a link to the Grand Jury Report. If you feel any sympathy for Paterno or any of the other Ped State officials it will quickly be replaced with disgust and sadness at the number of adults who failed these children. Warning – it’s extremely disturbing:

    http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/11/06/sports/ncaafootball/20111106-pennstate-document.html

All these men who passed the buck on this abetted future molestations. What is the most awful part of the cover-up, is that those poor kids, that poor little 10 yr kid McQueary saw getting raped in the show – he saw McQueary walk away while it was happening and not come back. He never got to hear someone say “Are you okay? You didn’t deserve this. You are safe now.” Not that night, not the next, not in the days, weeks, and months following.

Spanier, Paterno, McQueary, Curley, Schultz, and god knows how many others, could have DONE SOMETHING and chose to DO NOTHING.

Speaking as a reader of TVgasm comments, most people following this are not having a kneejerk reaction to minor typos hastily penned on the Interweb. Reading a second post 15 seconds after the first correcting some minor typo and apologizing for it just isn’t necessary.
