Lifetime posted a Behind the Scenes at Liz and Dick, and there is ONE part of this video (at 1:13) that made me LOL–it’s when Lindsay says “I love diamonds, and she appreciated them and it made her happy…” SO FUNNY! WE KNOW YOU LOVE diamonds little girl, you steal them as a hobby!

I have to say I’m a little intrigued, aren’t you?

Here’s the video:

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Well, that’s that. I’ve seen all of the disaster I dare to see.

    Thank you, Nads.

Good lord, couldn’t anybody spring for some damn elocution lessons? She looks and sounds even worse than I thought possible. Thanks, Nads, but no thanks on subjecting myself to this horrorshow!

Was she ever a good actress? I mean, i remember her being pretty good in Mean Girls and other cute little films, but holy hell this is awful! You NEVER look at her and see Liz, and isnt that the point? Is this a sick joke they are playing on us?

Because you know I am going to watch it. So sad.

Has a Lifetime movie ever gotten this much publicity?? Please tell me someone is going to recap this trainwreck.

    Oh yah…whatever happened to moviegasm?
    Halloween is coming up.
Last year I read about “Rose Mary’s Baby”. I never watched it and it was so well recapped I didn’t need to, which is a good thing ’cause I gets ‘fraid.

Elocution lessons? :-) I am not a Lindsey fan at all but how is she supposed to mimic a gal that was born in America and insisted on using a Brit accent when she was with Richard Burton and then changed her accent completely when she was with her G’vner?

She reminds me of Madonna. Where did that gal from Detroit get that accent? Fake. Don’t pretend not to know your heritage.

In addition, I think it is insulting to fellow Americans when folks want to pretend to speak another language. Especially when it is english with an accent! lol Who are they fooling?

Ok, that didn’t read right. I would like to clarify.

“folks want to pretend to speak another language.”

I did not mean another language. Many Americans are bi-lingual, including myself.

What I meant is. why the heck do folks like Madonna and Liz and a few others all the sudden start talking like they are the little matchgirl? Are we supposed to believe that Madonna woke up one day and all of the sudden had a brit accent? :-)

Elizabeth Taylor was born in England, not America. So her British accent is genuine, not fake.

@Robin & Oliver, you are both sorta right. She was born in England to American parents and came to live in the US at the age of seven. Most kids would have absorbed the local accent, but being a young actress, I think she probably retained the Brit accent as well as being able to use whatever accent came in handy.

I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear that I wasn’t talking about any sort of accents. I was referring to the art of being able to speak clearly and have control of your voice, no matter what the public venue is – Something most real actors are capable of doing. I certainly wasn’t expecting her to be Meryl Streep, lol!

@BB, oh now I see. You were referring to La Lohan, not to Elizabeth, who could swing into a mean American ala Martha in Who’s Afraid…

I think it’s great that she can play 50 so convincingly. No prosthetics needed.

    @SSC,

Yeah, I meant Lindsey. Her tone and delivery sound like it’s 3 am in a club bathroom and she’s asking the chick in the next stall if she’s got an extra cig.

Elizabeth was mesmerizing in Who’s afraid of Virginia Wolfe, and she was no slouch as Maggie the cat, either. Who she played when SHE was 27 – right around the same age Lohan is now!

Ugh, I have to stop thinking about any sort of imagined ‘comparisons’, it’s just too damn hard to clean vomit off a keyboard.

Speaking of being “sorta right” I was wrong when I mentioned Elizabeth and her hubby. I called him “Gvner”. Actually he was a senator from VA. That said, even back then, I wondered why she spoke with a Brit accent when she was with Burton and spoke totally different when she was Mrs. John Warner.

I understand that many times folks will fall back on an accent that they are familiar with, but to change completely? I am still puzzled by that. And Madonna. :)

Aw, come on guys. I didn’t think it was THAT bad, I don’t think there’s anyone out there that can “play” Liz Taylor completely effectively. And it’s a Lifetime movie for gosh sake, what can we expect? Lots of camp but not much substance, just like they have always been. I think it will be fun to watch, at least they didn’t use Kristen Stewart.

Absomundo, @ Robin. She should have picked up the American accent at age seven, and being able to switch back and forth between accents for a movie role is another; however, switching around in her ordinary life is a tad wierd.
