OMG, I’ve just died and gone to heaven! Ben & Jerry’s has just put out Schweddy Balls Ice Cream (for a limited time). The ice cream was inspired by one of my favorite SNL sketches with Molly Shannon, Alec Baldwin, and Ana Gasteyer…

Here’s a refresher:

The ice cream is “vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and is loaded with fudge covered rum balls and milk chocolate malt balls.”

I don’t care what it is, I just want some sweet Schweddy Balls in my mouth!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I’m not even kidding–I’ll be bumbling through my day as usual, not thinking of anything in particular, and all of a sudden I’ll think “Schweddy Balls”, and crack up. It’s like a little gift I never know when I’m going to get, really.

Actually, that skit was the first time I realized that Alec Baldwin is hysterical–like, Christopher Walken hysterical. The fact that all three of them kept straight faces has always amazed me. If you’ve never heard the P.S.A. Baldwin did for National Public Radio, ironically thanking people for NOT giving, for NOT doing their part, you should track it down on the Innerwebz. It’s a hoot.

10 years too late and besides the expected salty taste I imagine it will have a heavy dose of musty cheese in a gummy base of hairy skim milk.

It took years for the proper liscensing to go through on “Cherry Garcia.” Perhaps this was the case again. I, for one, want some Schweddy Balls Ice Cream. Watch out diabetes, here it comes.

Yes!!!! I don’t care how long ago this skit was, it’s still a classic and I’ll be putting Schweddy Balls in my mouth real soon. Alec Baldwin was great and played well along side Molly and Ana. Love it!
