Big Brother 14 is Coming!

In just a little over two weeks, Big Brother 14 will officially kick off our summer TV vacation! After experiencing “that other show”, on ABC this past week, I’m more than ready for the REAL thing! Let’s catch up on a little gossip and some rumors before it all starts.

Julie Chen has kept a tight rein on everything Big Brother. It seems that being married to Les Moonves, who is President and CEO of CBS, give her an advantage. Nothing gets out to the media until Julie does it first. This means using her daytime show, The Talk, for just that purpose. But where there’s a will, there’s a way….

This is the first and ONLY leaked photo so far. It was taken on “Media Day” last Friday (June 22nd). Eight people, from different media outlets, got to enter the house and play Big Brother for the day. They were then given a “gag order” by CBS, not allowing them to report their stories until July 2nd. Some of the journalists participating (by the names on the podiums) were most likely Matt Whitfield of Yahoo! Entertainment, Rob Moynihan of TV Guide, Matt Maynard of We Love Big Brother, Matte Babel of ET Canada, and Patrick Gomez of People Magazine. You can also see the names “Rachel and Brendon” which has everyone wondering if “America’s Sweethearts” were there to help out for the day. We will all know on July 2nd when a FLOOD of information comes at us.

The BIGGEST rumor is that four veterans will be returning to play the game again this season. Since Evel Dick got screwed out of playing last season, because of a last minute personal emergency, word has it, he’s definitely getting another chance to play. Mike “Boogie” was also a name getting tossed around. Then the rumor mills determined that these veterans wouldn’t “play” the game, but only mentor the newbies on the strategics of Big Brother. When a mentor’s players are eliminated, the mentor must leave the house too. The four mentors will draft their teams from the pool of houseguests. The mentors get $20,000 for signing on and $2,000 for every week they are in the house. If one of the mentor’s players wins Big Brother, then they’d win $100,000, BUT they wouldn’t get that $20,000 for signing up and $2,000 a week. The latest news is that the “mentor” rumor is pure bullshit. Veterans are only being brought into the house to “host” certain events and competitions and nothing else. Thus the phrase “Some you love and some you love to hate!“

Changes? Yes, the rumor mill has been saying that the 2nd floor has had a major overhaul. Those that say the “mentors” rumor is true are saying an extra room has been built especially for them upstairs. Gone is the boring chessboard outside the HOH room, so no more eavesdropping on important ass-kissing HOH meetings. The houseguests will get their entertainment from a BRAND NEW ARCADE ROOM!! Oh these big surprises are getting me all worked up. What ever could be next? How about this….

…. an 80′s theme for this season. More big band hair than Bret Michael’s can stuff under his bandana! Lot’s of pink, turquoise, purple and teal. It’s amazing! Now I’m really stoked, aren’t you? Now don’t forget, these are just rumors. Julie Chen hasn’t confirmed anything yet, BUT…..

Here’s Julie, just the other day, supposedly painting the bathroom wall in the new Big Brother 14 house! Planets, moons and spaceships? Certainly not the 80′s look I was thinking of. Here’s her plug on The Talk. Look quick, cuz it goes by really fast!

    I’m really excited about the new season. However, I do not wish to see Evel Dick spitting and haranguing people, and Mike Boogie just needs to stay off my tv forever.

    Well what I will say is the recappers we have are amazing. So much so my work production goes down during these times trying to keep up with what the ladies are saying.

    I also read up until I go to bed and as soon as I wake up it’s the first thing I read. So get ready to invest alot of time in this. The worst part is the withdrawals when it’s over.

    The BB crew that has amassed over the years is great. It’s actually the reason I started coming here. I didn’t sign up for about two years but I had so much to say I finally did.

    That dayum Natalie really chapped my ass….

    If going with an 80′s theme, does this mean every cast member was born between 1980-1989? And, would the returning HG’s or mentors or whatever also be born between that timeframe? If so, that would exclude both MB and ED, so here’s hoping….

    Somewhat unrelated, but die-hard fans would love: have the final HOH challenge be for the final three to guess the number of “but firsts” Julie Chen has said all season. Can you imagine the poor, hapless underpaid intern who would have to figure that out?

    OH RTVfan, I hope you will join us again this season in updating! We need all the help we can get.

    Oh, by the way, Evel Dick has been on Twitter saying, “Don’t tweet me any rumors about BB. They are all bullshit, like every year. Get over it, calm down and wait, like a normal person does”.

    He also got in a bit of an argument over the use of “Tard” as a term for idiots, but ended the whole convo by saying, “Yes, this is my 3rd day without a cigarette… don’t fuck with me”

    Could that mean he’s in sequester and CAN”T smoke and now’s the time for him to quit?
    Do we really need him in the BB house? Who would be good as a mentor and DON”T say Jeff!

    Chooch I will try to update as much as I can, although I know I can’t come anywhere near as close as you, Giff, KittKat, Cherie, etc etc. I am dealing with some computer issues this summer and am going back and forth between 2 laptops, depending on which is behaving and when lol.
