Brad Pitt’s Mom Writes An Anti-Gay Letter To A Missouri Paper

Angelina must be fuming because Brad Pitt’s mom wrote an anti-Obama, anti-gay, anti-abortion letter to a Missouri newspaper. Her letter was a response to a piece discussing if Christians should refuse to vote for Romney because he’s a Mormon. She wrote, “Any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon…Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”

I guess everyone has a crazy parent!!! I know she has the right to freedom of speech, but it’s just crazy because her son and daughter-in-law couldn’t be MORE liberal. I wonder what she thinks of Angie’s lesbian phase?

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Okay that doesn’t make any sense. Well, to be fair, none of the dumb shit she said does. What about the Christians who actually vote for Obama? Well I guess that doesn’t need to be said because they are in fact casting a vote for..oh whatever. She still sounds ignorant as hell.

Apart from the same-sex marriage comment, I don’t see anything to be outraged against in her comments. She’s saying that Romney is more of a right-wing Christian fundamentalist than Obama, even though he’s a Mormon. And that’s surely true, isn’t it?

And there are some really cool Christians who did not vote for Obama. Liberal is supposed to mean open-minded but that’s very rarely the case. Not everyone that you disagree with is ignorant/racist, etc. Sometimes you just disagree.

    Dear Brad’s Mom;
This a a quote from my bitchy phase,
“Your son’s a divorce’. He fooled around-more than once. He’s a fornicator. He’s still living in sin with the mother (maybe) of some of his children. You are the proud grandmother of little bastardos and bastardettes-not my words-but I I bet you have friends who use them. And your vaunted “family man”? Did you know he ran for el presidente while being a citizen of good ole Mexico? As good-the first sign of a serial killer,is a lack of empathy for animals. Most of us would agree putting a large beautiful dog in a cage on the top of a car for 100′s of miles, stopping only to hose off the dog because he had diarrhea (“he liked it”) and then stuffed him back in the cage and continued driving. Yeah-actually, that’s how I picture the average Christian. At least the Eskimos put old people out on ice flows for a reason. This a a multi-millionaire. Too cheap to ship the dog for $60? That’s what we paid in 1996 to send our cat from Seattle to San Jose. Last year my daughter and her boyfriend moved to Shreveport,La. from San Jose. They dumped almost everything but their favorite clothes and computers. They took 2 cars.He took Fairy, the Ferret-who loves to steal socks, and she took Hana, her beloved Bengal cat,and the litter boxes, food, etc. Some people have different priorities.Or hearts.

@fancy — LOL, I think she means if you don’t vote, or if you vote for a write-in candidate you are basically voting for Obama. There’s an ellipsis right before that part, so it was probably more clear with the rest of the stuff left in. I don’t know why I’m standing up for the old biddy except that I hate Angelina Jolie with a passion that knows no rationality and do NOT start talking about how awesome she is with her UN stuff and how she’s such a wonderful WORKING MOTHER because I will vomit. I am allowed to have a celebrity anti-crush and she is mine.

Oops-I meant his father ran for Pres. And why did old Spindleshanks have to mention Barack Husein Obama? Are we supposed to immediately supposed to feel disgust because the name is Muslim-or worse yet -foreign?
    Yeshua, Avrim, Jehovah, Moise, Jacov,Esau.
Pretty foreign. But I’m coping. How about you?
Some people live with their old misconceptions and never make the jump from the past to the present. Some people choose not to. However Spindleshanks really IS the Pitts and not only holds to the past but keeps her eyes tightly shut. I truly hope G-d has a tan.

I grew up in an evangelical Christian church and I still have a lot of respect for the thoughtful, respectful (“cool” if you will”) people who are still in it — regardless of whether they identify themselves as “liberal” or “conservative”.

However, what has always pissed me off are those right-wing Christians who basically equate being Christian with being Conservative or Republican. If people want to base their politics on their Christianity, they really need to focus on what the gospels actually focus on — making sure that the needs of poor and the parentless. People like Brad Pitt’s mother (I’m basing this on her own words) would have despised the Jesus represented in the Gospels. He reserved his ire for the self-righteous and told people that if they wanted to be perfect they should sell everything they have and give it to the poor. He never said a word about homosexuality, said that if you should take care of your own flaws before judging anyone else, and in my opinion, if you’re opposed to abortion (and I can see both sides of the issue) then you better be ready to step up to the plate and support the children and mothers of those who could have been aborted instead of being born into unfortunate circumstances.

You summed up exactly how I feel. I’m not sure exactly why but I hate her with a passion. I am baffled as to why people are obsessed with her. I don’t believe she’s anything more than a serviceable actress and she’s probably going to ruin the upcoming Maleficent movie.

As for the letter, I think of myself as a Moderate but I am a Christian and share a lot of Conservative and Republican ideals. However, for me, none of those involve hatred or intolerance of social groups based on the way they live their lives. Actually, let me amend that. I have a very low tolerance for ignorance or blanket hatred of those who are “other” to you. I’m only opposed to your values when you try to legislate them into my life and my body.

What gets me the most is the way Republicans continue to mention his middle name only because they want their minions to immediately think he is Muslim. It is not like we can chose our own name at birth or he changed his name. If you have a problem with his name take it up with his parents. Don’t know why that grinds my gears but it does … I respect her right to believe what she does but why sound so ignorant and hateful? Mittens is doing his image no favors by surrounding himself with bigots. And if they are not ignorant bigots they sure do one hellavu impression.

Absolutely! And does it need to be said again? It’s not illegal, yet,to be a Muslim,in this country. You watch OZ-every afternoon on TV. What religion he practices,I don’t know, but Dr. OZ is Turkish. There’s a reason he abbreviates. Danny Thomas-and his daughter Marlo-Lebanese. Were you scared of them? My son’s name is Robindranath, accent on the bin. He is named for the poet Laureat of India,Robindranath Tagore. I agonized over it. I wanted it to match his looks, give him choices to play with as he grew older,go with his last name, and have stature. His grandfather argued he might get tired signing it when he was famous. The name mean Lord of Sunshine. I thought-Rob,Robbi, Robi,Robin,Robin, Robindro,Robindranath. We called him Robi, or Robi- do,Robi -don’t. Even in college,he’d correct the Dean. “It’s Robi from Robindranath, not Robbie from Robert.” Pride.
Anjuli-Ani,annie,Anji,Anju,Juli,Juls,Anu-I gave her a middle name-Sarah. So when the Nazis come back-they can identify her as a Jew. Got that Brad’s Mom? She signs on sometimes as “Hinjew”-Identity.
We call her Ani -will Ani -won’t.
My family belongs to the 3 target assailants or victims-ask big mouth-I’m never quite sure. Hindus,Sikhs, and Muslims. Americans for some reason, never bothered to tell them apart-even by name. A turban rarely indicates an Indian. Singh=Sikh. Dhotis-are worn by Hindus. Last names will tell you what state they are from and often what caste they belong to .It’s really not that hard. It’s funny really, the same way people in other countries think westerners are are all cowboys and Indians,Americans expect camels and elephants-but not 100%. Just enough to be annoying and to make the rest look stupid.
Most people just want to get along. But most politicians no longer work for the little people. They work for the Koch Brothers or some short term money goal- but they sure don’t work for you and me. Cutting off the unemployment without warning. The extension last January literally saved our lives. We have no friends,no family, and no savings left to tap and are already in foreclosure .You can’t give up something you don’t have. And doubling the interest on Student loans? That IS you and me.
Personally,I think we should check every Government employee’s car to see if he or she has a dog in a cage on the top of the car (just for me-start with the Republicans? I’d like a Shih Tzu).
Names. They are personal. I’m sure the Obamas just wanted to just show a connection to ancestors and family and the world, because names are important and usually given with great thought. No one has the right to mock your name. Certainly,a great many names are out of context because the people have been forced to leave their native country. I know a lot of men named Dixit (pronouced Dickshit). Yes, I think it’s fair to say they would prefer another last name in this country. Queen Elizabeth and her husband have more German blood than English. The French Royalty was frequently Austrian, and croissants were invented in Hungary after a rousing victory over the Turks. The world is a funny place with a lot of uninformed people like Big Mouth (can we just call her “Bass”? spreading hate and more hate, and frankly,it’s the Pitts. We’re all connected and related. Get used to it. No one is more than a 50th cousin from anyone else. Relationships are far closer if you were born on the same continent. Bad news for Bass and Barack. (Just snuggle up you 2.) But great news for me. I’m related to the Hapsburgs. And Dracula. Vladamir Hussein Dracula- much scarier-I see that now.

Danny Thomas, like many other Lebanese, was a devout Catholic. He started St. Jude Research Hospital to fulfill a promise to St. Jude in return for answered prayers.
I’m not defending Pitt’s mom or even saying that I agree with her (never have liked her son or his gf). Personally I hate politics. I seldom vote and don’t consider myself either democrat or repub or right or left. But while the lefties are always preaching about hate, they themselves spew as much venom as anyone else. You can’t claim to loathe intolerance of anyone who is different from you when you yourself hate anyone who does’t agree with your politics and/or morals. And I’ve even heard justification from the left on why they don’t think it runs both ways. Their values morals are “correct.” This hypocrisy (and arrogance) is exactly why I hate politics.

@gretchenbarney – here’s the problem. Being bigoted IS wrong. I’m firmly with the “lefties” and I definitely agree a lot of us (myself included) could be more tolerant of opposing views, but I will never be tolerant of bigoted, racist, classist, sexist or homophobic “opinions” or “viewpoints” whether based on religious beliefs or just plain old hateration. If that makes me intolerant so be it.
