Britney Spears for the record

So much has happened over the weekend…I don’t even know where to start! I’ll give you the cliff notes version, then I wanna talk about Brit.

-Madonna’s North American tour grossed $91.5 million

-Rosie’s show tanked and is now officially dead. Hope NBC let her keep her spanx.

-Four Christmases earned approx. $46.7 million this holiday season. I didn’t see it…but I saw Milk and thought it was fantastic. Sean Penn was incredible!

Now let’s get to Britney. I loved the documentary. No one ever said she was bright, but she was so sweet and honest in this doc. I’m glad she opened up. It makes me sad that she’s everyone’s puppet. I can’t even imagine being in her shoes…it has to be hard to know what you want when everyone controls your life and has an opinion. The one thing I didn’t believe was her statement about not doing drugs…really? No drugs at all? I know she has mental illness, but I do feel the doc was obviously produced to put Britney in a good light…so was it all true? Probably a version of the truth, right?

Also…what the hell was up with Madonna’s face? She was looking fugs! Poor thing! I want to know what it feels like to not be able to move your face.

And before I forget, can we talk about Jamie Spear’s shoulders??? They should have teased his broad back in the trailer. I was shocked!

All in all, I loved the doc. It was sad, but very sweet. I’m just glad Brit is making her comeback (thanks to her Daddy and his cheese grits).

Did you watch??? Thoughts??

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I’d like to preface this with a disclaimer. First of all, I’m not going to say that I’m not a fan of Britney’s music, because I am. Second of all, I’m not going to say I don’t like Britney, because I do. Even though I’m slightly cynical about her big comeback, because I believe most of her downfall was due to some very poor choices (which might not be her fault. See the “I’m a smart person” quote below)

That being said, there were a couple of things that I called bullshit on. I’m glad you brought up the drugs thing, because I definitely took note of that. No drugs, Britney? Really? As much as I liked the documentary, I don’t believe that. I don’t even know if I didn’t believe that she wasn’t on something during the interview. The eyes looked a little glazed over.

Also, I couldn’t get past the quote, “I’m a smart person. What the hell was I thinking?” I understand she probably tells herself that for validation, but I’m not sure how smart I believe she is. I’m pretty sure she didn’t even finish high school, and though her success could be a testament to her smarts, she can’t even say that because I truly believe the bulk of her success can be attributed to the people she surrounds herself with (Personal life excluded. I’m talking producers, choreographers, etc.)

I agree w/ you andreak on many levels. i didn’t want to be too harsh in my blog, but it’s so true. How the hell do you explain promises? And they didn’t even mention Adnan once. But I loved how the doc started off with, “No question was unanswered.” B.S.!!!

The documentary was obviously put out to promote her new album…so they would never show anything TOO negative. I feel like they put enough negative to try to cover the B.S. and to say, “hey look we talked about real things…”

and, yeah…she’s not too bright god bless her heart.
