Celebrity Apprentice’s Black Contestants Are Asked To Speak Out Against Trump

The organization, ColorOfChange has launched a twitter campaign asking Star Jones and Lil’ Jon to denounced Trump for “race-baiting.” Race-baiting is:

race-baiting

ColorOfChange said in a statement, “This is the first organized attempt to target these celebrities and demand that they, as prominent African-Americans, take a public stance against Donald Trump’s ongoing attacks against President Obama.”

colorofchange

That’s insane, the organization is essentially bullying them into speaking out. I think Star and Lil’ Jon should speak out if they truly believe in their heart that Trump is “race-baiting.” They shouldn’t speak out if they don’t believe in what they’re saying. I’m all for standing up for what you believe it, but not being bullied into standing up. It should come from the heart. Honestly, I’m shocked that Star hasn’t spoken up already.

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Maybe I am just jaded by our political parties, but am I the only one who thinks this is a way to discredit him because he has hinted that he will be running for president? That plus the whole exchange between him and Obama over the birth certificate?

    What a bunch of rubbish.

He’ll never run. He’s just further ruining his rep by people digging up all of his skeletons. I’m so turned off by him, aren’t you?

Sure am. I’ve always found him kind of physically and morally repulsive, and he’s the type of guy you might buy a used car from just to get him to stop yelling in your face. I don’t even think the Florida Hanging Chad crowd would vote for him.

I would hate to see him in a debate – nobody would ever get their answer out! I am happy to see how quickly everybody turned on him after Obama released his birth certificate. He’s becoming a punch line.

I understand that the Mentally Divergent Action Group (MDAG) is calling on Gary Busey to speak out about the way he was treated on Celebrity Apprentice. MDAG worries that he was “edited” in a way that negatively portrayed people living with mental illness.

I thought the same thing when Ellen Degeneres was coming out–I felt she was pressured into politicizing her sexuality and that it wasn’t fair to her.

I don’t care if someone is liberal or conservative, it’s up to other people to make their own personal and political choices. Also, I do think Star Jones made it clear that she does not support Trump in his bid, which I still think is fake anyway. A week or so ago, she was making the news by declaring herself to be a lifelong Democrat who wouldn’t support Trump.

This is just a reality show, not a political platform–if Trump continues talking about his politics into the season, I see no reason that NBC shouldn’t charge him for his political commercials. Of course, they won’t. But I do remember that I read that some of his sponsors have dropped him.

    @AntSuck, why the quotes?

I believe that none of the people on Celebrity Apprentice will allow themselves to be bullied into speaking out, whatever the cause. Especially against someone they don’t even take that seriously to begin with. They showed up to CA, got a check, and made some money for charity. Done and done.
Lil Jon speaks to Trump while wearing sunglasses…indoors. Do you really think he gives a shit about The Donald or his political aspiriations?

If the ColorofChange org had any good sense, they would have reached out to those celebrities who have already spoken out against Trump, without needing to be coerced. John Legend, for example. He told NY mag last month (when this was still relevant), about his disapproval of Trump’s recent antics. “He needs to stop saying that racist bullshit birther shit. Quote me please. He should be ashamed of himself. It’s awful, really.”

But, why beat a dead horse, ColorofChange? The birth certificate has been released and Trump has been exposed for his ridiculousness, especially since he hasn’t held up his end of the bargain by releasing his tax records. That’s yet another reason for everyone to see that Trump’s anus of a mouth is just blowing hot air.

I’m with you, Nads..it’s obvious he isn’t running for president. But by ‘crying wolf’, Trump is giving any and everyone a reason to air out his dirty laundry and in turn, losing what little respect he’s earned over the years. (which isn’t much, we all know.)
I mean, if it’s publicity Trump wants, there’s gotta be another way. Wouldn’t it have been easier to just start another fight with Rosie O’Donnell?

I 100% agree. And doubt with every fiber of my being that he will actually run. But GAWD wouldn’t that be a treasure trove of opportunities for him to look like more of a joke?! I would LOVE it if he ran.

Did CoC even try to ask them nicely at first? Or just DEMAND they stand up and speak? You catch more flies with honey, just sayin…

Oh for goodness sakes, AntSuck quoted something that Star herself has thrown out there so many times on this show it has become a tired ass quote.. Like, “Pack your knive’s and go” and “You’re Fired”.

Nothing sinister as far as I can see. Why do you always want to start trouble? There has never been a disagreement anywhere that you aren’t involved in. You never posted at Survivor for example until there was a disagreement. Ever. You had never posted at Apprentice either. But, as soon as there was a disagreement, you were right there. It is unfortunate that your contribution’s to the thread’s didn’t help a bit. You stoke the fire very well, I must say.

Robin..no one is starting trouble on here but you. I have asked you repeatedly to not comment on my posts…once again, you can’t help yourself.

“Why the quotes?” was a question. Nothing more, nothing less. I did not accuse Antsuck of anything, I just asked why he/she used quotes for that particular phrase. It was a three word sentence. Of course, you’re going to read into it..desperate for conflict. Grow up.

You, my dear Robin, are the biggest troublemaker on this board. Some people have said you were getting better about your shit-stirring ways, but I knew it was only a matter of time before you would strike again. It’s pretty rich that you said my contribution to this thread wasn’t helpful, although I stayed on topic. You, however, posted here only to attack another poster. Self awareness not your strong point, eh?

I am not your dear and I wasn’t speaking about this thread when I mentioned your contribution. It was very clear that I was talking about your “contribution” to the Survivor and Apprentice thread. Two programs that you never had an interest in before. Folks started having a discussion, you decided to join, and just like many of your attempts to control, you manage to spin it and once everyone is sick of the bullshit, you Laugh! Yes, You do. Happens alot and it is not beneath me to prove it. You enjoy pissing people off. Self aware?

Yeah, about that not commenting on post’s.. I have asked the same of you and it wasn’t that long ago (1 month) that you ignored my request. I am pretty sure I asked first. Here. In bold letters.

Biggest troublemaker on this board? Nope. Not Me. There were some troublemaker’s here many yrs ago that would have eaten you alive while you are walking that crevace between being shitty to people you disagree with here and sending suck up emails to other’s so you will see the “You are so cool Sarca”..”LOL Sarcas”.. Pity..

You knew exactly what you were doing when you asked about the quotation marks. You also made sure that it was in the first sentance of your post so it would get on the front page. Your MO is well known.

Robin, I love, LURVE!, how you can tell me which shows I am interested in and where I post. Obsessive much? I have been posting on Celeb Apprentice since the beginning and will post on any discussion on TVgasm that interests me. When debates pop up around here most of us are civil about it. I, however, do not call people out and attack them with silly accusations or personal insults. That is YOUR M.O., Robin.

Yes, I was curious as to why the phrase was used in quotes, so I asked. It’s clear there was no drama involved so you had to create it by talking about my posts on another thread.
    (Bingo!)
If you notice, I didn’t mention Star in my post because I agreed with Ant. I was just curious as to who/where the quote was from. For all we know, The Donald could have said it.

But that’s irrelevant. You just used that as a weak excuse to try and start another war. I am quite aware of what isn’t ‘beneath you.’ And now you are saying, with conviction I might add, that anyone who has ever written ‘Lol Sarcas’, has only done so because I’ve sent them an email sucking up? Ha! You’re right about one thing. I laugh off the ridiculousness.

Of course Trump is being called a racist. If you disagree with Obama, there are many who will jump up and brand you a racist. It’s downright disgusting. Too bad we can’t have a black person in higher office without idiots going around pointing accusatory fingers.

I don’t think Trump is a racist. I think he says some pretty dumb things sometimes, though. I also don’t think he’s really running for president as much as making his points. Whether he realizes it or not, he’s becoming a high profile example of just what happens with the politics of personal destruction when one dares question The Emperor.

Oh hey, look. Assholes and bullies exist on both sides of the political spectrum. Who knew?

But Where’s My Coffee, there is plenty of legitimate criticism of this administration that doesn’t get labeled “racist.” Just read almost any Glenn Greenwald column, as well as the comments to see that there is no Emperor that we dirty hippy Democrats all blindly follow. If I had my way, we’d have Pres. Feingold or Kucinich right now. But Feingold won’t run and Kucinich looks too much like a Keebler elf to ever be taken seriously by the media. It’s only when the arguments against him have nothing to do with politics or his policies and focus solely on his very right to call himself an American, that there is a whiff of racism.

There’s also a huge a difference between disagreeing with policy and a lot of what’s been going on in the public discourse since Obama got elected.

It’s tiring that everyone picks on everyone else. Have I said it enough? IT’S. TIRING. If you don’t like a comment, don’t respond to it, UNLESS it’s directed at you, and even then you have the choice to reply to it or not.

Matt, I didn’t say a damn word to you so take your own advice and tone it down. I’m sorry if you felt your behavior matched what I was talking about. But if you will notice, my comment was to Ohralphie. I know that you and Sarcas are friends as has been evidenced by the off topic conversations between the two of you on several threads. I don’t have a problem with that. But don’t try to act like it was a completely random act to jump in to defend Sarcas. You did it because you are her friend.

I also used to be her friend. And I used to defend her too. But then I started noticing trends in her behavior. Then when she posted a bunch of links to prove that she was a victim of bullying, I went and read everything. EVERYTHING… it took hours. And then I realized that I had been tricked. And I felt betrayed because this person that I had taken at face value lied to me. I hate feeling manipulated and that is exactly what had happened. I pointed all of this out to her. In great detail, I noted my thought processes and how things changed based on what I read so that she would understand where I was coming from. And I told her at that moment that I would call her out when she would do these behaviors but otherwise I would ignore her. And that is what I have done. There has only been one time that I called her out on her behavior. That was a few weeks ago on (I think) the Survivor thread. Otherwise I just ignore anything she posts. However, I do know that if you point out anything she does, she will claim complete innocence and turn it around so that she is (again) the victim. My warning to Robin was to not waste her time. I feel that was good advice. And I left it there. Even when Sarcas replied with nonsense which was not relevent to my comment, I didn’t bother to reply. Because I didn’t want to engage with her. I know that to do so is a neverending round of bullshit. However, I did feel that Ohralphie was out of line in including me in the shit stirrers who wouldn’t let the fight “die a natural death.” It had certainly already done that hours ago. The comments were already on topic. It wasn’t until you and Jeanine started things back up.

But thanks to you, Matt, and Ohralphie for making sure that this thread couldn’t stay on a quiet note.

I have no problem posting on a thread that they are on without addressing them. So why can’t they practice a little restraint?

IT’S OVER! Forums have been locked, comment threads have been locked..MOVE ON. Ignore me, puh-leeeze!

Actually Sarcas, I didn’t bring up anything about what happened last year. Matt did. And I said that I called you on something a couple of weeks ago.. thanks for quoting it.

And you can point the fingers at me all you want, Sarcas. But remember that up until about a month or so ago, I was on your side. I was fine then, right? And I know that Robin is your favorite scapegoat. But I still have one question. Why are you at the center of EVERY fight on this board? Every one. I know you will say that you are bullied, but I think Matt exemplified very well that your friends are at least as bad (if not worse) than those who supposedly bully you. So why are there never any fights revolving other people?

And speaking of bandwagons, you just jumped on Matt’s to get your digs in on me. Typical behavior my dear. So don’t label me a shit stirrer without pinning that same tag on yourself. But then self-awareness never has been your long suit has it?

For the record, Sarcas, I wasn’t even active on the site when that war was going on so how could I hold a grudge? Furthermore, when I did come back to the site, I believed your version and was defending you when things would happen on the board. That was until I noticed that almost every time the shit gets started by you. You make a little comment (often a passive aggressive comment such as the one on this thread which started this altercation) which you then pass off as totally innocent. Get off the cross, honey, we need the wood.

@Mattlam – What the fuck do you mean that you know pcheez’s ‘real name’? Why would that be relevant? How could that knowledge be construed as anything but creepy especially in light of the shitfest that that particular fight became? I called you out for shit stirring because that is what you do – your post about Robinez was nothing short of that and you do have a history of getting personal towards other posters.
@Snootchybrootches — I lumped you in with matt and jeanine schaeffer because I wanted to make the point that agreeing with any side of a flame war is just bound to make other people feel the need to jump in and add their support to ‘their guy’.

I love this site, and I love the talent of the recappers here. This bickering and sniping – and there is plenty of guilt to go around – cheapens it.

In honor of Mothers Day let me channel my mother and all my Eastern European foremothers when I say “Knock it the fuck off before I knock the shit out of yas”.
