Chloe Sevigny Says Only Gets Worse For Shelley On American Horror Story: Asylum

I felt compelled to write about Chloe Sevigny’s TV Guide interview today coming off last night’s episode of American Horror Story: Asylum because I was traumatized. Last night I was minding my own business, sitting at home alone after a long day of work on Halloween night, and I dared to turn on American Horror Story: Asylum…big mistake. HUGE. Listen, I’ve been following the series and it’s f*cked up on many levels, but I still watch…but last night’s episode was insane. I don’t want to give it away, but let’s just say that final scene with Chloe Sevigny’s character, Shelley was traumatizing. Chloe told TV Guide, “It gets much scarier…Her disadvantage is only increased. She becomes more and more helpless. It’s very tragic actually.” How could it get any more tragic???? No arms? No face, and only a mouth???? Yikes!

I can’t wait for next week, but I’m still in disbelief that this show is on television and on FX nonetheless. I know FX likes to push the limits, but it’s still Fox. I’m scared for next week…

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

At first I thought she was waking up from a dream. I can’t believe he amputated her legs!!!

I like Chloe Sevigny. She was great on Big Love.

This season is just so violent. I don’t know what I’m watching, but I can’t turn it off. I hope it’s going somewhere tho….

That Farmer Hoggett sure has turned into one nasty dude! I shudder to think what he would have done to poor Babe if he was like this in that movie. Christmas means carnage, indeed!

I still remember James Cromwell as the guy Eliza Jane fell in love with on Little House on the Prairie. She thought he loved her too, but it turns out it was another woman he was talking about and he just thought of Eliza as a good friend. So, devastated Eliza pretends she met someone from another town and tells everyone they’re going to be married. Almanzo and Laura are about to be married so she leaves the family house to them and her teaching job to Laura.

He’s doing a very good job of playing creepy, that’s for sure.

I was skeptical about this season because I loved the first one so much, but I am glad that I was wrong. I definitely was not expecting that to happen to Shelley, and cannot imagine what else is in store for her!

I’m loving this season so far. Jessica Lange’s drunken monologue this week was absolutely incredible. I see more awards in her future.

I thought last season was out there, this is just .. . . madness!!!! Some awful people doing awful things, without much reason . . . and the far reaching plot devices, like everything but the kitchen sink!!!

EW has a really deep review, pulling in all these references, and I’m like, yeah, but did they really think about all that, or did they just say . . . aliens, killers and nuns, oh my!!!

It’s still worth watching, not sure there will ever be anything like this ever again!

@juddfan I read Jensen’s recaps over there, too and I also wonder if Ryan Murphy et al. really do put as much thought into all of it as he does in his recaps. It’s an interesting read, though.

I’m really intrigued about how this is all going to tie together (or if it even will). I’m hooked now, even though I don’t really like the demonic possession stuff. As a former Catholic, I guess the fear of all that has stuck with me and I get a little skeeved watching it, like I’m doing something wrong, lol.

I pretty much knew it was going to go in that direction when they announced this season would be in a Catholic insane asylum. Now, the aliens I did NOT see coming.

@KJN, I agree it was so well researched and interesting, but in many ways, I still think it’s giving too much credit to the writers.

I was also raised catholic, but I love’s me some exorcism!!! hee . .. .

I can get into the demons and the exorcisms, but the aliens is what’s going to end it for me. I don’t want to watch sci-fi. If I did, I’d tune in to the SyFy channel.

Okay, confession time… I actually wait to watch the show until after I’ve read the very detailed recap on EW. I need to know what’s going to happen or I’m too chickenshit to watch. *hangs head in shame*

I haven’t seen episode 3 yet, but thanks for the heads up (spoiler), lol.

This season seems especially messed up and demented (but awesome). Have we found out why Grace is in there? I really want to know why. Also, she looks so familiar (but not), who is the actress and has she been in other stuff? Thanks!

i think Grace is probably the most psycho of all, given that she seems the most sane. also, i don’t knwo the actress, but is she trying to do some kind of french or french/canadian accent? it seems to go in and out.

Hey asshat, or should I say notwithoutmytv, maybe you didn’t read my post when I said I already saw the episode. I was OK with the spoilers and wasn’t complaining, idiot. What I was doing something you obviously have no concept of, looking out for others. Unlike you I don’t troll the comment sections of websites like a grammar Nazi looking for people to try to degrade and mock. But I guess when a no life having loser such as yourself has nothing better to do why not go and try to ridicule others right. Are you that guy at the party who rudely interrupts people just to correct their grammar while they’re telling a joke? Now here’s a stream of conscious thought for you why don’t you just take your grammar correcting ass loser self get in your car turn off your airbag go as fast as you can into to a tree but aim for tree that is growing straight up and not slightly askew because I wouldn’t want you to stop your car and get out to correct its improper growing angle even though you know its intention to go upwards but how growing at an angle may make birds say what the hell is this tree doing?

Oh crap! I forgot a question mark in my last post! Someone call grammar Nazi notwithoutmytv to correct me. Because nothing in my life is as important as making sure my grammar and punctuation in the comments section of a TV recap website is 100% spot on.

This show gives me the creeps and I effing love it! Last season was pretty awesome (except the finale – sigh…)and I’ve been kind of concerned that the new season wouldn’t grab me like season 1 did, but yeah, I’m completely invested now. It’s totally cringeworthy, and sometimes I’m shocked by the blatant sexuality and violence, but that’s the same shit that keeps pulling me further in. Catching my sister up on season 1 tonight. Fun! Has anyone else ever watched the opening sequence in slow motion so you can catch every single freaky frame?? I had to do that with season 1, too. And finally, I love Chloe! She was such an uptight bitch on Big Love, it’s pretty cool seeing her all slutty now. She should never have laughed at the crazy doctor’s tiny dick…
