I sit in judgement of you

Tonight is the big night. I know that everyone is complaining that the show is not what it used to be. And Nigel Lythgoe promised that it will be more about the talent and not the celebrities this coming season, but we’ll be the judge of that. However, Chris Daughtry told Rolling Stone that “American Idol is in a state of decline.” He said, ” “I feel like it’s definitely lacking some credibility at this point.” I do agree with him that it is in the state of decline somewhat, but is he forgetting what an impact Idol has on America. The fact that they raised more money in one day than the whole Red campaign’s life, I don’t think they’re declining too much. Lack of talent last season, yes, but it’s still going strong.

He continued, “It’s in a state of decline and if they don’t do something about it, it’s probably not gonna last too much longer. I’m sure that’ll be used against me, but that’s the truth, you know? People get tired of seeing people that suck…It’s funny at first, but come on. They spend three weeks on people that can’t sing, and that’s what they’re banking it on. [They should] find some people that you can really invest in.”

Great idea Chris! After all, American Idol is the reason America fell in love with Chris, and now he’s become the authority on Idol. There is a lot of truth to what he’s saying, but in my opinion, it’s also up to the performer themselves after the show is over. I do believe that Chris had the chops to being a great Idol and that’s why he’s prevailed after the show even though he didn’t win (he was robbed). A lot of the past idols that have been dropped by their label like, Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee all were good, but they weren’t great in my opinion. Ruben wasn’t as marketable as Chris among other factors, Taylor bugged me to the point that I can’t even comment, and Katharine McPhee…she’s a dime a dozen. So, yes I do have to agree with Chris, but it’s also up to the producers of the show and America to keep on who is good, and kick off the ones that suck. I don’t think that Chris can influence them, nor can I. The only thing I can do is sit back watch the show and judge from my couch. And then, when I get to go to the final as a spectator, I can sit there and judge in person. That’s why they have shows like that, and if you don’t like it…then don’t watch or don’t try out.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I love Chris Daughtry! His is the only CD I have ever bought of an Idol. He may be over estimating the viewing public though. Part of the charm of AI is watching all these crazy people trying to sing. It’s fun and funny. Then hopefully we get down to somebody we can root for. You are right he was robbed. Taylor who?

In the case of 23 yr old Katharine McPhee her problem began on the idol tour when she kept her 43 yr old boyfriend around and that didn’t sit well with us young mom’s when katharine was trying to portray herself as a role model to young girls. Her private life has just about ruined her career and will further fall once the marriage is done

my computer sent w/o me wanting to send…hmmm…it must have been the karma of me making fun of the contestants. Anyway, as I was saying, the freak that was pissed at Simon, the waxed chest guy, the guy that sang in a “low” pitch, blah blah blah. I can’t wait to watch tomorrow.
