I just got an email about a cool new Food Network show starting October 12 called, The Chef Jeff Project. The Chef Jeff Project will follow Chef Jeff, a former prison inmate turned executive chef, trying to transform the lives of six troubled young adults (with lives similar to the one he lived) through the power of food.

The kids essentially become Jeff’s “Crew” and apprentices with his catering company, Posh Urban Cuisine. He’ll help them with their appearance, attitude, motivation, behavior and give them the skills they need to succeed in real world.

Sounds like a good ol’ fashion feel good show that people will benefit from.

The Chef Jeff Project starts October 12 at 10PM on The Food Network.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Okay, I will be the adult here and say this looks like a really good show and these kids cannot be any worse that the first 5 cheftestants that are kicked of ANY season of Top Chef. And most likely will be better than ANY winner of the Next Food Network Star.

No seriously guys. I actually had the pleasure of meeting Chef Jeff and hearing his story earlier this year at my company conference. He is a truly amazing person who had such an affect on me, I went out and read his book to get the full story. He went from being a convicted fellon to literally being the head chef at the Bellagio. He learned to cook in freakin’ jail and then became a world-class chef! I’m telling you … only in America. He has more determination and drive than anyone I’ve ever met. He told us his show would be coming out later this year, and I’m so glad to see that it actually went through. You should give this guy a chance. He really is inspirational and I think he will have an amazing affect on the lives of the teens he works with.
