dancing w/ the stars

Did you watch the Dancing with the Stars premiere last night? There were a few good, a few terrible, and everyone else was just kind of ehhh. The two that I thought would would tank, actually could cut some serious rug. And the ones that I thought would do well, actually kind of sucked…

My favs of the night:

Ralph Macchio, and Kirstie Alley…man could they move. I had no idea that Kirstie could move her 60-year-old ass the way she did. I was shocked, and impressed. And as for our Karate Kid, I should have known better–he had a mean crane in 1984, and he proved he still has it.

Trailing behind Ralph and Kirstie was little Chelsea. That little girl can move!!!

Now let’s get to the evenings let-downs…

Wendy Williams, “Psycho Mike” Catherwood, and Sugar Ray Leonard. Man, were they terrible!! I was so disappointed in Sugar Ray. He was a boxer…he practically danced for a living–how could he do so poorly? I get that he’s older and probably suffering from a few injuries, but I thought he’d have some rhythm.

Everyone else fell right in the middle for me, including Kendra. As for Romeo…I’m still on the fence with him. I thought he’d do much better. He proved that he could move better than his old man, but that’s not saying much.

Anyway, there’s no elimination this week, so I guess there’s no need to get my panties in a bunch just yet…

Did you watch? Thoughts??

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

When Ralph Macchio said he was 49 I had like twelve heart attacks. 49? I was staring at his face for the rest of the show trying to see any signs of aging…I didn’t.

I’m at work during the day so I don’t see Wendy’s show. I had no idea she had such a HUGE rack! I think she did Ok considering she was so skerred. I admit I fell asleep in the middle but woke up in time to see Kirstie shaking her bootay all over the place. She done us big-boned gals proud!

No wonder they saved Kristi for the last dance. She & Max brought down the house with their Cha-Cha! Kendra was great and the judges have already begun their mindless scoring with her 6-6-6. Even the audience disagreed with their boos. Wendy Williams can quit tomorrow and I’ll be happy. The sight of her gives me the willies. Now that Romeo is definitely a hottie! He just needs to get into it.

Looking forward to all the “celebrity” audience members this season.

Wendy Williams looked like a tree with breast and a first sunday Baptist Church wig on … for all her big bad talk she was unwatchable. I had to pause live television so I could finish laughing. I swear I saw a train wreck slow down so it could watch her dance. And to top it all off she has a bad attitude. I cannot wait for all the non-entities to be voted off so Kirstie and Ralph can go head to head in the finale. So proud of Kirstie; I have always been a big fan (no pun intended) and was cringing when I heard she had agreed to this but I should have known..she has never disappointed in a performance and this was no different. I would be happy with a Kirstie or Ralph Hotchio win

TB and I are having a disagreement about Daniel son.
I say he has had some kind of facelift and TB says no way because men don’t get plastic surgery.
I know I know I rolled my eyes at that too.
Either way he looks very niiiice.

I don’t believe RM has had surgery. When they get closeups, you can see ridges and lines. He’s just maintained a very youthful expression and demeanor.

What I thought was so great about both Ralph and Kirstie is they are paired with the biggest showboating egos on the show and, yet, were still the stars of their dances. It takes a lot to snatch the spotlight away from Karina and Maks, but they did and in their own ways: Ralph by being utterly charming and Kirstie by being the hotcha that she’s always been. 30 or 60, who cares?
