David Cook is going to sing the National Anthem at game three of the NBA Finals. It’s so funny because I like sports, and I like basketball, but in my world an Idol winner singing at the game is newsworthy rather than the game itself. Good Luck David!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Sadly, Davey did not do as well as I thought he would. The first couple of notes were kind of rough. It wasn’t BAD by any means, but he didn’t really seem like himself. It was very tense and he seemed extremely serious – like the exhaustion is taking its toll. Or maybe it was because he was singing the anthem and he was instructed to be serious and just stare at the flag? I don’t know. He just didn’t seem like himself.

I’m going to agree w/ you on that one georgiababe. He did not seem himself at all and sounded hoarse too. Poor David. He must have been so tired and nervous…Game 3 NBA Finals…big game to open for

I didn’t hear his perf, but I’d like to point out (the obvious) — the Nat Anthem is FIENDISHLY difficult to sing, esp in front of large crowds in an echoey auditorium/stadium, which is why so many people and otherwise good singers mutilate it.

Which was the problem, I think. Because in an interview before he sang, Cook said that he was petrified because, you know, it’s the national anthem. Which is why he didn’t mess with the arrangment, obviously, and which is probably why he was concentrating so hard. But I think that exhaustion was still part of it.
