Page Six reported that Demi Lovato has been staying in a sober living house for over a year. I kind of feel bad for ever making fun of her–the cutting, the crazy–all of it. I mean, I know life is terrible, and that’s why she felt the need to cut herself–but I should leave the cutting jokes for another poor soul. I actually like that Demi is active in her recovery, but what I like more is the fact that she hasn’t been vocal about being in sober living. It makes me believe she’s really doing it for herself and not for the PR. Other celebs should take note. This doesn’t make her a better X Factor judge, but I’m proud of the little girl.

Side note: I can’t help but wonder–what really happens in a sober house? Not like a VH1 Sober House, but a real one. I wonder if it’s like a college dorm room where everyone hooks up (unless they’re a sex addict) without the booze and a ton of self help books? I don’t know why my mind went there, but it did. I’m curious!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

Very impressive! Nice to see a celeb serious about getting healthy and not running to the tabloids with her story. I don’t know much about her but since she is so young I assume she has a very young fan base and she is really being a role model in the truest sense. Much rather hear a story like this than the daily Lilo train wreck!

Irony alert: I have to type L1ndsay to post LOL

What is she in sober living for? Cutting? Booze? Pills? Sex? Bad singing?

Good for her to get help. It is hard enough for people to get help.
