OSCARS/

Word on the street is that Eddie Murphy’s name is being submitted to be the next host of the Academy Awards. I don’t know why I never thought of Eddie hosting, but I think it’s an amazing idea! It could totally revamp his career, and we all know he can do it–look at his old stand-up days. I know nothing is set in stone, and Eddie has only shown interest, but who knows–stranger things have happened. Look at last year’s hosts–I would have never pegged them to host the Oscars, and they did…AND they sucked. Team Eddie all the way!

I leave you with my favorite Eddie Murphy bit:

**UPDATE** He’s agreed to host! This is exciting news!

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I’d love to see him host the Oscars. He’s about due for another career renaissance, and if his kids are old enough, time to get back to what made him huge. No more family entertainment, Eddie. That’s not who you are.

I saw “48 Hours” when it came out, and as great as everyone else was in that movie, it was Eddie’s from start to finish. He really was something special back then.

I think it is a great idea. He has the years in Hollywood that he know enough to let it fly and I jsut hope they don’t tie him to a STUPID STUPID script. He can come up with better off the top of his head than I have heard in recent years. I think the writers for the various award programs suck.. totally… no offense given for those here who are great writers… but if you wrote for the AA, you sucked.

    “Are his children grown yet?”

Is that why he started making all those awful family friendly films?
He still has a young daughter, his child with Scary Spice, but as I believe he’s never said boo to the child, she certainly won’t be affecting the content of his standup.

You know back in the olden days(80′s) my younger brother and I bought RAW on pay-per-view twice and blamed it on my older brother. 80′s Eddie was awesome comedy. sacrasatire, I thought that was the reasoning behind all those craptasic kid movies. He and Ice Cube sold out(to adults)!
