I disagree completely. I really like Jillian. Yeah, she’s tough, but she understands what it takes – she was quite a bit overweight herself as a teenager.
And she takes a “whole self” approach – it’s not just about getting on a treadmill and running, it’s about changing your lifestyle. You can’t go back to eating the way you did, even if you do exercise, and expect to stay healthy.
She also pays lots more attention than Bob to the mental/psychological aspect, which is something that you have to deal with. You can change the body, but if you don’t change the mind controlling the body, you’ve done nothing.
And although she could have been more tactful, being 400 lbs, you’ve certainly got one foot in the grave.
If she were a man, would her actions and training style be perceived differently?
did you actually watch the clip? it’s hilarious. it has nothing to do with whether or not she’s a man or a woman. she speaks the truth, and if she was more comfortable with her natural personality instead of trying to hide it, i think she would be more effective. is there sexism in the world? yes but it doesn’t apply here. i was just pointing out that her true colors are pretty funny.
