I know we’re all about reality and some scripted on this site, but sometimes I like watching mindless animated shows…with that said one of my favorites is coming back tonight! Futurama!!!

In tonight’s episode, Neutopia, The Planet Express crew crashes into a planet inhabited by a being who doesn’t know the concept of gender, and decides to experiment…

It’s pretty damn funny. You’ll love it! Anyway, that’s my plug purely for the love of Futurama! It all starts tonight at 10PM on Comedy Central.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

    All glory to the Hypnotoad.

I love Futurama! Leela is the best of course! My favorite episodes are of when Kif gets pregnant and the Amazonian Woman “Snoo-Snoo” episode with the late Bea Arthur. I bust out laughing no matter how many times I see them. Also, the one where the Planet Express Ship and Bender date because when Leela pops the cans and says she won free admission to Six Flags. My husband was working for Six Flags at the time and his reaction was priceless when he said it. Season 4 really is my favorite overall.

My son loves Futurama too. It is the only thing we can play at night to make him go to sleep, especially the season 5 disc because he has seen all the episodes. He loves Bender but thank goodness he hasn’t said, “Bite my shiny metal ass” yet.

I wish I had TV so I could watch it but I will wait for the DVDs for my son. I miss this show so much!

I’m confused I thought Futurama went off the air ages ago. Wasn’t it part of the cartoon line-up on FOX? Do you guys mind telling me if these are new episodes what channel it comes on……have I been under a rock or something…..alien abduction(hey it’s possible) when it reaired

@Moli-I know it got cancelled by FOX, then I believe it got picked up again by them and then cancelled again. Then after a few years, (I want to say 5 or so because on the first episode of the season 5 DVD, it says 5 or 7 years)it got picked up by Comedy Central where it is playing. It is great!

Its ok Moli. Futurama was cancelled but fans apparently wrote in and demanded its return and since it got such a positive response it came back last year.

It now airs on Comedy Central and honestly its better than ever!

    All hail M.O.M.!!

It was canceled by Fox in 2003, and then Comedy Central got the syndication rights a couple years later. Because Comedy Central is awesome, they commissioned four direct-to-DVD movies, which they then later split up into a 16 ep season. In 2009 Comedy Central picked it up again for about 25 new episodes or so. They started airing brand new eps around the same time last year.

It’s just as good as ever. “The Prisoner of Benda” episode was one of the funniest of all time (and the writers even invented a brand new freaking math proof to solve the main issue of the episode — evidence that if you want to write for an animated sitcom, you just have to have a Ph.D. in Math from Harvard or M.I.T.).

If you have Netflix on demand, you can watch all the new and classic episodes (plus the movies — “Into the Wild Green Yonder” is my personal favorite).

@Hypnotoad-That one is good but I liked “Bender’s Big Score” the best even though those pink things make me nauseous.

Parisi — They’re all good (and those pink things made me nauseous too). I just loved all the feminist jokes and girl-power-ness of the last one. I loved Leela taking off on her own, and it was great to see another member of the Waterfall family taking up the cause. I can’t pinpoint exactly why, but I found that one to be the funniest of the films.
