I actually watched the Golden Globes in real time last night (haven’t done that in so long, I felt like I was doing something special)! Not a bad show…nothing to write home about, but not bad. I’ve posted the winners after the jump…but for one quick second…can I comment on Nancy O’Dell’s red carpet “do” for a second?

Um, Medieval Times called and they want their wench back.

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

I don’t watch the show, but didn’t “everybody” (online) say that Anna Paquin is just awful in True Blood? That she shouldn’t have even been nominated? It surprised me to see that she won, though, as I said, I can’t say whether she deserved it or not.

There are quite a few people who don’t think her acting is up to par on “True Blood”, including me. I was surprised when she was nominated & was totally blown away when she won, beating January Jones from “Mad Men”. I’m a big fan of both shows too. The two roles are completely different from each other, Paquin’s being “out there” & Jones’ being much more subtle. Ah, but what do I know. I’m not the foreign press.

I am so happy for Kate Winslet. She’s been nominated for both the Golden Globes and the Oscars five times (not counting these two recent noms) and has never won, so I was so glad when she got the very first award of the night AND then she got another, very deservedly.

I hope she gets an Oscar. It’s been 12+ years in the making.

The only other person I cared about winning was Heath Ledger and I am so glad that he won, I about cried when Chris Nolan came up there and looked as if he was about to burst into tears.

The rest, I didn’t care. I haven’t watched any of the movies (yet) except for The Dark Knight and I don’t watch any of those tv shows. Ah well, it was fun anyway.

First of all, it was a bleep fest last night!

    now my thoughts:

re: Anna won, and I was SHOCKED!!! My friends that I was watching it with LOVE TRUE BLOOD so they were happy…but I don’t think that she deserved it.

re: Kate Winslet – so happy she won! It’s about fucking time! Did you see Leo’s face when she won too? It was so sweet.

Colin Ferrell: Nice comment about his runny nose! L-O-L!!!

Robert Downey Jr. – Hope he’s not off the wagon. Glasses during the show after he was kind of sloppy on the red carpet?

30 Rock – Everyone is saying, “they keep winning”, but guess what? it’s deserved in my opinion. What are they going to have in it’s place? Two and a Half Men???

MIkey Rourke – sober??? He incorporated “balls” in his acceptance speech.

Cameron Diaz – OMG! She looked horrible. Too skinny and her hair! She needs to get her roots fixed, BADLY!

    that’s all I got for now…

I watched the show till Marisa Tomei’s loss then I turned it off.

Marisa Tomei should always win. That Kate Winslet has two. Enough already. (Though she should have won best actress for TITANIC. Helen Hunt won for AS GOOD AS IT GETS. What has HH done lately?)

I can’t watch that red carpet stuff. That’s just a vomitron of insipidness.
