Nads, thank you for doing the winner’s list really fast like this so I don’t have to screw around looking it up. Thanks for making me lazy! <3
Wow. I’m so glad I didn’t bother watching this year. The only song on that list I like (and the only CD of the list I bought) is Keith Urban, Til Summer Comes Around. The rest? No thanks.
I appreciate you watching so I didn’t have to.
I agree Catty…can’t find one thing that I liked here.
I am surprised Beiber didn’t win ANYthing.
Does this mean I can’t like Arcade Fire anymore? When did my musical tastes turn mainstream? Eek!
Itchy, I think when your musical tastes go mainstream you have to listen to them in secret. Like you would if you liked a female pop artist.
It’s nothing like seeing a guy sing “I’m a slave for youuuuuu.”
@classy drunk – looking at some of the artists that were asked to perform, and like itchy pointed out won, I wasn’t surprised at all that the Biebs got the shaft. At least in Best New Artis, he was up against legitimately talented performers so it would have been a joke for him to win that.
Still don’t get the whole Lady Antebellum thing, though.
Well, there were some surprises, but there are a number of winners on this list that are enjoyable. The Roots album with John Legend is a gem – although it doesn’t have Keith Urban on it…
And I like all types of music, so some of the newer stuff will be fun to check out on ITunes.
@itchy – I was thinking the same thing.
and yeah everyone, there were some surprises for sure…@LAC0 that Roots album is amazing. I was so bummed when Fallon hadn’t started yet and they announced The Roots as his houseband. I was like–THE ROOTS??? Jimmy Fallon?? But they didn’t totally sell out like I thought they did. I guess everyone needs to make money at some point and throw street cred out the window.
@vallegirl – I’m with you on Lady Antebellum. I mean–record of the year??
What is up with Lady Antebellum love? I mean, its okay, but record of the year? That is a song that made drunk dialing in the middle of the night totally boring.By the third time of thanking their Lord, I was waiting “Oh Jesus, not again!” to come from on high.
I also see that Christina Aguilar (sp) is continuing her musical missteps. Did she think this was “Divas Live” on VH1 – it is a tribute to Aretha Franklin, not a tribute to Christine Aguliar singing Aretha Franklin. Twit…
Turned the show off and on – Love Mick Jagger strutting the stage, didn’t love “Like Buttah” Streisand as much. And OMG, could Mark Anthony and J Lo look more awkward together? And grilz, P-Diddy? He still looks like a shiny dolphin to me.
Nads, I know – The Roots as your house band? Well, at least they didn’t work on Leno…
@LAC – Yeah, Aguilera was just embarrassing, and is shredding her voice to hell, during that “tribute.” But all of them were completely outclassed as soon as Yolanda Adams started to sing. She schooled them all on how to sing Aretha. Even Jennifer Hudson.
Ive always liked Jennifer Hudson. I just wish she would stop yelling at me when she “sings” on that weight watchers commercial..
@Robinez TRUUUUUUUE. Its a new dawn a new day! I was watching tv with my man yesterday, and he randomly said, I can’t believe I haven’t heard Jennifer Hudson yet today, cut to the next commercial break and there she was. It almost ruined his high
Didn’t Lady Gaga win for Bad Romance last year? How many times can you win for the same song/album??
Sarcas, Didn’t you hear? She a was just hatched out of an egg. Apparently she is re-born and everything before never happened. !!
Just teasin..Apparently this is why she was able to be nominated this year. The Grammy’s aren’t all they are cracked up to be anyway..
TC, Robin
