I’ve been going back and fourth on blogging about this, but then decided I had to because it’s been a slow news day. Today Snoop announced that he wouldn’t be opposed to judging American Idol, and of course this is right off the heels of announcing this past week that he wants to transform to Snoop Lion for his upcoming album, Reincarnated, that was inspired by his life-changing trip to Jamaica. So amazing. Forget about his Idol announcement, because that’s not relavant, but isn’t Snoop Lion the most genius name ever? At a press conference he said, “The spirit called me. Any time the spirit calls you, you gotta know it’s serious and real. I wanna bury Snoop Dogg and become Snoop Lion.” And in case you were wondering, the reason he was inspired to bury “Dogg” is because a high priest in Jamaica suggested that Snoop was a Lion and not a Dogg, so there it is! So long Dogg Pound and hello Lion’s Den!

Here’s a great piece on the transformation:

About

Although comedy is her profession, Nadine has accomplished a lot in her young age. She is a national champion black belt, a world-class soccer player, and an avid snowboarder. She started playing soccer at the age of 4, and continued playing through college where she majored in Biology, but quickly realized her destiny was to tell jokes, not to wear a lab coat. So she decided to be funny while finishing her Bachelors Degree in biology and continued on to get her M.B.A. Nadine’s comedy style is much like her athleticism, fearless. She’s made her way up the comedy ladder very quickly, and has become a club favorite at many of the country’s top comedy clubs, including the Improv chain. Performing in the Boston Comedy Festival and being noted as the “one of the youngest and brightest up and comers” and traveling to the Middle East to entertain the troops are just a few of her notable accomplishments. These days Nadine splits time between the stage, a radio studio, her computer blogging, and a television studio. Nadine’s TV, Radio, Writing credits include: national commercials, talking head roles on E! Entertainment, Showtime’s Hot Tamales Live, The Skinny: Fat Free News, The Sunny Side of The Truth: Real World Hollywood, TVgasm, Zazreport, Daddy’s Girls, Jerseylicious, celebrity interviews on Mania TV, a weekly half-hour television show that syndicates to colleges across the country for National Lampoon and a nightly radio show on XM Satellite Radio.

The docuseries will premiere in 3..2..

I would love to see footage of Snoop’s trip to Jamaica. But they would need a high-powered lens to cut through all that weed smoke.

Of course, because there was totally a Peanuts character named Snoopy who was a lion, right? The name makes perfect sense now. Wait, what?

    love, J-Lion :)

I’m in Jamaica right now (celebrating 50 years of independence)… wonder if someone will give me a new name.

Ha ha, there’s an awful singer here in France who does this for every album he puts out — completely changes his identity, or at least his look. One year he’s dressed as a Rico Suave type, the next year he’s in dreads, the year after that he’s wearing a poncho. The funniest part is that he’ll then walk around wearing whatever getup his stylist concocted for him, making the rounds of all the television shows dressed up just like his album cover.

That’s who Snoop Kitty has become. Can’t wait ’til he goes through his Madonna phase.
